That's pretty sweet.Should have played Avengers in between.
marvel72 - 3/9/2014, 9:07 AM
gonna watch captain america the first avenger & the avengers the day before i watch captain america the winter soldier,so i can get all buzzed out on captain america.

may add iron man 3 & thor the dark world to it as well so all the phase two films are fresh in the memory as well.
AlexanderLykins - 3/9/2014, 9:11 AM
That's the thing about all of these movies. They aren't direct sequels to the events of the previous film. So while there will be some plot points to catch up on, you really need to watch Marvel's The Avengers in-between the two. So while it seems like a good idea and it may be fun, it's probably smarter to do it from your home. I still encourage everyone to go out and do this though.
mrHJK - 3/9/2014, 9:15 AM
Yeah, why wouldn't you add Avengers? When they did this for Iron Man 3 and Thor:TDW they played Avengers too
Pasto - 3/9/2014, 9:16 AM
3 STAR RATING! DEAL WIT IT!
ATrueHero1987 - 3/9/2014, 9:19 AM
The days before CA: TWS comes out, I'll watch CA:TFA & The Avengers before I go see it that Saturday.
JordanKing - 3/9/2014, 9:52 AM
It's not like those attending a Captain America double screening will have no clue what "The Avengers" was.
batz11 - 3/9/2014, 9:55 AM
Think I'll do this...CapTFA is one of my fav MCU movies...
BboiBlack - 3/9/2014, 9:58 AM
ugh, have to sit though the first movie again.
Pheezmatic - 3/9/2014, 10:05 AM
I just wish they would show them in IMAX in the IMAX theaters. I did this marathon thing for The Avengers and that was so much frickin fun. But I also like to see my premieres in IMAX and these special engagements show no love to the IMAX in Imax theaters :(
DrDoom - 3/9/2014, 10:13 AM
Should have included Avengers. Still, not a bad deal.
Pheezmatic - 3/9/2014, 10:18 AM
@Doom True! Avengers was like Cap2 and supposedly Cap2 is like Avengers2. lol
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 3/9/2014, 10:21 AM
Every theater here does this... Including our Warren IMAX. And they'll be playing Avengers.
RRA - 3/9/2014, 10:31 AM
bboiblack - but the first movie was pretty good?
Marvel1997 - 3/9/2014, 10:41 AM
What are you on about? @Pasto
fettastic - 3/9/2014, 10:52 AM
Won't make any narrative sense without Avengers.

It's like showing a double feature of A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.
TelaVizion - 3/9/2014, 11:04 AM
I talked to AMC on twitter. A guy named Bryen responded saying Avengers isn't in the lineup because this is showing on Thursday and they didnt want it to start early and end late. -_____-

Both Iron Man and Thor marathons were on Thursdays and included Avengers.

Plus this is $30 and your only getting 2 movies. I paid that for 4 movies in Iron Man marathon and $25 for 3 movies in Thor marathon.

I'm planning to just go to the Marvel early screening on the 20th.
TelaVizion - 3/9/2014, 11:05 AM
@Pheezmatic, certain theaters are showing it on the IMAX screen
TelaVizion - 3/9/2014, 11:07 AM
The 1st Cap movie is the lowest quality of the Marvel movies, but might be a lil better seeing it a 2nd time like how Thor 1 turned out.
Pheezmatic - 3/9/2014, 11:33 AM
@tela Your from NYC right?
Melkaticox - 3/9/2014, 11:38 AM
Just 19 more days!! ...Well, for most of the world. Poor US.

I think I'll probably watch TFA before this one. It's been a loooong time since I saw it.
InfiniteMonkey - 3/9/2014, 11:44 AM
Having a marathon movie event to suck the unsuspecting audiences wallet dry, priceless.

Oi, just watch the first one at home first and save money.
Then sucker one of your mates to take you out to the new one that same day. LOL
TheAbomination - 3/9/2014, 12:07 PM
Meh. The First Avenger was the weakest Phase 1 movie. I'd rather just watch the Winter Soldier by itself.
Melvinwerewolf - 3/9/2014, 12:10 PM
@batz11
I agree
McGee - 3/9/2014, 12:56 PM
What the f*ck?.........F*CK YOU MARVEL!!!! YOU PUT THE AVENGERS IN THE MIDDLE RIGHT NOW AND MAKE IT A THREE MOVIE MARATHON YOU STINGY BITCHES!!!

>:(
McGee - 3/9/2014, 12:56 PM
And give us special themed Real D 3D glasses....
Pheezmatic - 3/9/2014, 1:27 PM
^ yea what McGee said...I like those glasses! I got me a Iron Man pair and a Cap'n Murika pair..I want more! Now!
Pheezmatic - 3/9/2014, 1:40 PM
@Omega Very true. But I also assume they are going to reference "The Battle of New York" countless times during CA:TWS.
TheCaptain - 3/9/2014, 1:41 PM
I'll just watch CA:TFA and Avengers on Blu-ray before I go see Winter Soldier.
RRA - 3/9/2014, 2:27 PM
Eh I don't mind AVENGERS getting cut out for this reason: With the Thor stuff, remember its his brother that was the baddie in AVENGERS. If it was Red Skull instead, then yeah AVENGERS in a Cap marathon would make more sense.

I don't think it matters that much at this rate.
batmanvsuperman - 3/9/2014, 2:31 PM
I'm going to watch every marvel movie starting with iron man even the second hulk movie my fav hulk threw to Thor tdw
RRA - 3/9/2014, 3:07 PM
Ah THE INCREDIBLE HULK, the red headed stepchild of the MCU. Deservedly so!
ThePowerCosmic - 3/9/2014, 4:36 PM
I'll watch CA:TFA and Avengers on blu ray, on my 50" HD TV by my fire place before the Winter Soldier...thanks but no thanks AMC.
Vaportrail - 3/9/2014, 5:17 PM
If it was a 3D marathon with Avengers, I'd be in.
Think I'll do fine with my BluRays, otherwise.
DrDoom - 3/9/2014, 5:39 PM
fettastic's metaphor is appropriate.

Part of Captain America's story arc, like all of the franchise characters, occurred in The Avengers. Leaving it out means that a major part of the story is missing.
dellamorte1872 - 3/9/2014, 7:47 PM
I disagree with a statement I saw up there^ CAP 1 was def not the weakest pre avengers movie iron man 2. It's kinda unneeded b/c BW is reintroduced in AVENGERS I'd argue IRON MAN 2 is really useless bc avengers does well at explaining the ties
NebulaFields - 3/10/2014, 12:05 AM
I thought CA:TFA was one of the strongest phase one movies as well and it's still one of my favorite MCU movies... I'm not even a big Cap fan, at all... but thought it was awesome. Had a lot of heart.
opencurtain - 3/10/2014, 10:32 AM
CATFA was a very average movie but I will say that it probably was one of the toughest comic book movies to bring to the big screen due to the origin of it so I still think it did a good job in explaining the goofy looking costume that was used in the 1940s comic book that really does not transcend at all into a live action movie , it set up Cap for the Avengers and now I expect the CAWS is going to be the real deal from what I've seen they've cleverly introduced the Blue SHIELD suit which from what I've seen looks cool and also they've brought back the CAFA suit with some modern modifications that make it look bad ass as well .
