Sorry America, Now THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Gets An Even Earlier UK Release Date
If you live in the UK, take solace in the fact that you'll now at least be able to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soon enough to not have the entire movie spoiled for you in TV spots, extended trailers and clips. The rest of you? Tough luck! Hit the jump to find out the new release date...
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to be released in North America on May 2nd, but most of the world will have already seen it by that point. However, Sony Pictures UK have today confirmed that the UK wil be the first. Instead of the originally slated release of April 18th, it will now hit on April 16th. That's only a two day difference, but now well over two weeks sooner than in Spidey's home country. While it may seem strange that a much smaller country will get The Amazing Spider-Man 2 that early, it's worth noting that there are an awful lot of movies released in North America which don't make their debuts until months or years later in some cases. They aren't always as high profile as something like this, but there have been plenty of big movies which are delayed a lot longer than 15 days. Of course, a big part of the reason why studios like Marvel and Sony might decide to release their movies here sooner could be because as soon as a bunch of film "critics" who run blogs no one has ever heard of gets their hands on them, their RT scores plummet...
