STAR WARS EPISODE VII Announcement Expected May 4th; Title Reveal May Wait Until Comic-Con

Rumour has it that Disney and Lucasfilm will FINALLY reveal at least some of the cast of Star Wars Episode VII on "Star Wars Day", a.k.a. May 4th. However, one source believes that - like Marvel - the studio will hold off on revealing the title until this year's San Diego Comic-Con...

It's been a frustrating year for Star Wars fans thanks to endless rumours and various actors alluding to being a part of J.J. Abrams' Episode VII. However, as expected, it appears as if there's a chance that we could indeed hear something a little more solid on Monday, May 4th. Disney boss Alan Horn has said that the cast is in place and the script is just about done, and with only around 18 months or so until release, an official synopsis of partial cast list is well overdue by now.

We're obviously going to have to wait and see if anything major is revealed eight days from now, but one reporter (see below) believes that the one thing which won't be revealed is the title. This makes a lot of sense, as Marvel certainly succeeded in building a lot of hype for their Captain America: The First Avenger sequel when they revealed that it would be called "The Winter Soldier" at the annual event a couple of years ago. What do you guys think?

My daughter has been waiting for new Star Wars to come out, now that she is old enough to go to the movies without getting us kicked out, this is going to be awesome.
staypuffed - 4/26/2014, 4:51 AM
Good idea with May 4th, but they should just reveal the damn title, like a certain Warner Bros. property (cough).
marvel72 - 4/26/2014, 4:57 AM

May 4th is a Sunday, not Monday,so I hope there's something happening before I leave New York that evening. But I'll be over again for Comic Con so we'll see what happens there. Fun times!

JJ keeps things too secret. That's why Star Trek 2 failed to surpass it's predecessor.
SpectacularJoShFest - 4/26/2014, 5:09 AM
Meh...it's the shit prequels that should have left out,not all the EU. If anything needed to go...it was the [frick]ing shitty and horrid prequels.
charlie2094 - 4/26/2014, 5:19 AM
Awesome! Did think this was going to happen, not much longer they could keep it secret and Star Wars day would make for perfect timing. Hopefully we get a title before, but maybe not. Maybe see a brief teaser at comic-con?

@Spectacular

They never "left" out the EU, it was never canon anyway, they're just now making it clear.

I'm more interested in the cast than the title anyway so hopefully there's some truth to this.

TheAbaryMan369 - 4/26/2014, 6:48 AM
ABOUT [frick]ING TIME. I knew they'd announce something on Star Wars day!
DaVinci31 - 4/26/2014, 6:49 AM
Now that I think about it the title could actually reveal some info on what direction they are going in, it's 30 years after so they can't name it some bs title with words like "dawn" and "aftermath".
DrVenkman - 4/26/2014, 6:51 AM

nice

The cast announcements will only be the already basically confirmed Mark Hammil, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford. I guarantee it.

Shit movie.

It only works if the originals are there to anchor the series to the original and be the obi-one mentors to the children of sky walker
