These are admittedly small bits, but offer cool new looks at the Athenians and the Persians who will fight it till the death much like the Spartans and the Persians in the first film. These videos are a few seconds long each and appear as "intros" to the various sections on the official website. I have embedded them all below for your express enjoyment so that you don't have to navigate from section to section on the official site. They contain no sound.

The action here looks grittier than the highly stylized one presented in 300. It looks more rain soaked, blood drenched and mud splattered and there seem to be more soldiers fighting on either side in bigger battle fields (and on ships of course). It also looks like Sullivan Stapleton, in a departure from his predecessor Gerard Butler, will use the bow and arrow too to slaughter the Persians rather than just a sword and spear. Bring on the action!

You can navigate to the official site by clicking on the image above. The official site also contains new wallpapers and a Gif-maker. Check it out.

(You can watch in Full Screen as the footage is HQ)

Below I have taken screen caps of some of the new footage which was not shown int he trailer.

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

“300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures present, a Cruel and Unusual Films/Mark Canton/Gianni Nunnari Production, “300: Rise of an Empire.” The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton (“Gangster Squad”) as Themistokles and Eva Green (“Dark Shadows,” “Casino Royale”) as Artemisia. Lena Headey reprises her starring role from “300” as the Spartan Queen, Gorgo; Hans Matheson (“Clash of the Titans”) stars as Aeskylos; David Wenham returns as Dilios, and Rodrigo Santoro stars again as the Persian King, Xerxes.

The film is directed by Noam Murro, from a screenplay by Zack Snyder & Kurt Johnstad, based on the graphic novel Xerxes, by Frank Miller. It is produced by Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Bernie Goldmann. Thomas Tull, Frank Miller, Stephen Jones and Jon Jashni serve as executive producers.

The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Simon Duggan, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, editor Wyatt Smith and costume designer Alexandra Byrne. The music is composed by Junkie XL.

“300: Rise of an Empire” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Movie will no doubt be worth it for the visual spectacle alone. Why no sound to the clips though, or is that just me?
nailbiter111 - 11/24/2013, 8:16 AM
KingLeonidas - please don't use all caps on the title in the teaser. thanks.
KingLeonidas - 11/24/2013, 8:16 AM
The sound and video on the official site were sourced from different files. That is why. I have embedded the mp4 which did not have sound.

EdgyOutsider - 11/24/2013, 10:17 AM
I've got to step in this one. Okay, I don't know how close it was to the source material so coming at it as just a normal movie, 300 SUCKED SO MUCH ASS!!! That being said. Rise of an Empire will SUCK SO MUCH ASS!! How anyone liked the first one is beyond me.
Nomis1800 - 11/24/2013, 1:00 PM
Looks really cool!

Although, bit of a shame they didn't shot this on 35mm with the same amount of grain the first one had… It really covered up the CG well and got a special look. No everything is so clear and shiny. High resolution though.
Nomis1800 - 11/24/2013, 1:03 PM
Eva Green is hot as hell btw, and Joe is such a manly man
KingLeonidas - 11/24/2013, 1:04 PM
@jerryblake
You are out of luck then. :P
Because the director Nuom Murro said there was a third story they could do and make this a trilogy.

@Nomis1800
Sad but true. Almost EVERYTHING today is shot digital. So yeah film is dying. But I loved the grain too on 300. Infact, if you see the 300 Blu Ray, you can watch the entire film in a non-processed blue screen picture in picture manner. And it is then you realize that Snyder actually ADDED a lot of the grain in post. But it worked for 300, it looked spectacular.

This does look too glossy but also looks spectacular.
KingLeonidas - 11/24/2013, 1:07 PM
@Nomis1800
Also Joe? Who are you talking about?
DudeGuyMan - 11/24/2013, 2:31 PM
This movie will suck for three resons.

1. Zack Snyder is not directing.

2. David Wenham is not the lead.

3. Warner Bros. is releasing it in March (where movies go to die).
GodzillaKart - 11/24/2013, 4:13 PM
300 is possibly the worst "successful" CBM ever made, which isn't surprising, as the source material is shit as well. A textbook example of style over completely absent substance. I believe it led to an equally shitty tv show.
GodzillaKart - 11/24/2013, 4:14 PM
This, amazingly, seems to have broken some laws of physics by looking even shittier than 300. How is that possible?
PenditaMarah - 11/24/2013, 4:25 PM
Godzillafanart

You can't judge from the trailer.how come you say it was a shit already?are you retard?
GodzillaKart - 11/24/2013, 5:15 PM
@PenditaMarah: Hmmm. Your thoughtful query has given me much to ponder.
NeoBaggins - 11/24/2013, 8:06 PM
People still think this series is a documentary lol

Bring on the ass-kicking please.
dadisatish - 11/25/2013, 2:06 AM
aquaman and wonder woman in this style would be awesome....
NeoBaggins - 11/25/2013, 4:52 AM
@dadisatish

You are correct.
KingLeonidas - 11/25/2013, 7:21 AM
@DudeGuyMan
The last 300 earned 450 million dollars without 3D and being a non franchise property.
KingLeonidas - 11/25/2013, 7:21 AM
And it was R Rated!
