Every deleted scene of Malekith should have been included. We all know why... weakest villain in the MCU ever. Even Kurse was better.
antman8o8 - 2/25/2014, 3:45 PM
they should have left in the Malekith scene and def the scene with Thor & Frigga discussing Loki and how she gave him her magics.
marvel72 - 2/25/2014, 3:46 PM
come out today,i got mine yesterday.
soforizo - 2/25/2014, 3:47 PM
F'ck and I was just talking about deleted scenes in another thread!
DrDoom - 2/25/2014, 3:48 PM
How can Malekith be the weakest MCU villain when Whiplash counts . . . .
NebulaFields - 2/25/2014, 3:49 PM
Dude... all these scenes should've stayed imo but my opinion is worthless ;)
DrDoom - 2/25/2014, 3:50 PM
Also why was this cut? It's such a small addition but any more screen time for the Warriors Three would've been welcomed.
Ramiel - 2/25/2014, 3:51 PM
Malekith was both MCU's most powerful and weakest villain.

Thor and Thor: TDW had some really great deleted scenes that should have been left in the theatrical version.

@ Mercwithmouth

I cannot stop laughing at that video!!!!!!!!
MediaMan - 2/25/2014, 3:54 PM
@MrCBM56- I agree, Malekith should have been fleshed out more. It would have made a deeper, richer movie. But it still worked for me.

They didn't miss anything by not including deleted scene 4. But the other three all work really well. They add texture to the story. And I love Thor slowly lowering his cup to the table after Volstaff says "Another!" and tosses his to the floor. A great character moment that tells so much.
JoeMomma29 - 2/25/2014, 3:57 PM
Yeah the movie was kinda short I wonder who made the executive decision to cut these but it was a big mistake.

Because Whiplash at least had one cool scene(race stadium), was better developed, his motivations of revenge weren't nonsensical (Malekith drive the universe into darkness made little sense). Malekith was also the least interesting of three villains in THOR 2 (below Loki and Kurse)... and being bested by both Frigga and the Jane/Selvig combo, doesn't help his cred.

@Merc

What show is that video from?
McNyagano - 2/25/2014, 4:05 PM
It was really cool when Malekith grew bigger in the final battle. He's the weakest MCU villain to date.
maninfinesuit - 2/25/2014, 4:07 PM
Zachary Levi is severely underutilized as Fandral. Give him a role with some meat in the MCU. Doctor Strange? Nova? Something.

I cannot stop laughing either.

Got my copy of Thor: The Dark World or Thor: The Fun World as a certain troll would call it. Anyway, i will watch this in the next hour or 2.

Waiting for the Phase Two box set.

You seriously thought whiplash was a bad villain? Wtf??. Mickey Rourke was intimidating as hell. He hung those two guys that were supposed to watch him, and he was brilliant.
koolaidbag - 2/25/2014, 4:50 PM
MUST HAVE A DIRECTORS CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you think about it, the MCU's only memorable villain so far is Loki. They really are lacking in character development for their villains.
MightyZeus - 2/25/2014, 5:14 PM
Darcy, The Intern and Selvig should have been cut from the film or reduced to cameos and Malekith's deleted scenes should have been included in the film and the villain should have been show cased a lot more.

Malekith could have been as memorable as Loki but unfortunately slapstick humor over ruled the film.
koolaidbag - 2/25/2014, 5:19 PM
@reese what's the sauce on that loki gif
BatManiac - 2/25/2014, 5:27 PM
Lee Pace will give Hiddles a run for his money if Gunn has given him enough material, but yeah, Loki is the only great villain in the MCU thus far.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 2/25/2014, 5:30 PM
Malekith was memorable. Because he didn't have a family or was outcasted didn't mean he wasn't imposing. His motivation was to bathe the universe in darkness. More screen time would have been enjoyable but like nolans joker who's motivation was what???.......yeah pure chaos. Some legitimate complaints I've seen but this thread has some over exaggerations. Worst villain in mcu?? What?? Like king laufey couldn't have been better or the destroyer (Thor has since grown on me) smdh.
BatManiac - 2/25/2014, 5:32 PM
The Joker is batshit crazy. Alfred describe his motive perfectly.

BatManiac - 2/25/2014, 5:34 PM
Malekith isn't a bad villain though in my opinion, and he isn't the lamest. That award goes to Aldrich Killian.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 2/25/2014, 5:38 PM
MCU villains (main villains without soldiers)

Loki
Malekith
Iron Monger
Abomination
Killian
Red Skull
Kurse
Whiplash
King Laufey
BatManiac - 2/25/2014, 5:41 PM
1.Loki (best)
2.Malekith
3.Red Skull
4.Kurse
5.Abomination
6.Iron Monger
7.Laufey
8.Whiplash
9.Killian (worst)
TheRealRemyLebeau - 2/25/2014, 5:42 PM
I wouldn't call any villain lame but Justin Hammer was lower than killian.
OneBadDay - 2/25/2014, 5:43 PM
@Batmaniac Good list
TheRealRemyLebeau - 2/25/2014, 5:46 PM
Strength and intellect wise killian is right up there near the top.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 2/25/2014, 5:53 PM
(Soldiers)

Extremis soldiers
Dark elves
Frost Giants
Chituari
Hammer drones
Hydra
Marauders
10 rings
Namor - 2/25/2014, 6:08 PM
For some reason, can't watch this on INDemand as its supposed to be out on InDemand but yet its nowhere to be found. SO annoying, this happened with IronMan3 as well.
MericawithanM - 2/25/2014, 6:15 PM
@merc hahaha i love that video so damn funny.
storyteller - 2/25/2014, 6:26 PM
Deleted scenes shouldn't just be content they intended to cut or just shot just because. They were meant to be in the film but for one reason or another didn't make the final cut.

Most likely all this was cut for time. Now I think the Frigga one is just a little redundant. It's only purpose is to tell us that she taught Loki magics(which we can deduce by the previous scene and later one) and for Thor to tell us what he's going to do in the next scene which we don't need to know about.

The thing it adds to me is that Thor just doesn't understand Loki's motivation. He still thinks it's all imagines slights and it's all about getting back at Thor and Odin. He doesn't even consider that his behavior helped lead Loki down his dark path. Frigga though understands and this is why Loki treats her well. Honestly if she had went to earth in Avengers, a lot could have been averted.
MediaMan - 2/25/2014, 6:40 PM
@Storyteller - TDW could have been 5-10 minutes longer without hurting it in theaters, since it was a relatively short movie. I think at the first 3 of those scenes would have clearly added depth to the film. The Frigga one would have added context for most viewers, who don't always deduce what's going on within a film (not to be condescending, just a thought). JMO.
m0th3r - 2/25/2014, 6:44 PM
I think they left the Frigga scene out due to pacing. I believe at were they placed that scene Thor was returning with Jane. They would have had to move it forward to the point were Jane was not there..I liked the scene and it should have found a way to stay. It CLEARLY said Magic exists in MCU...which was nice foreshadowing...

Either was, the party scene should have stayed. Have not scene the rest, but it seems to me that Marvel, as much of a fan i am, does cut stuff i just dont get. Maybe the new cap running time, well over 2 hrs, will lead to less of this..
