The Dark Knight Rises Script Expected Monday

Thats right, Christopher Nolan is expected to send his script for "The Dark Knight Rises" to Warner Bros. TOMOMORROW.

By MarvelCinematicUniverse - 12/5/2010

This is pretty big news, David S. Cohen of Variety is reporting. During a recent sit down with Christopher Nolan, the director revealed that his script for "The Dark Knight Rises", his third and final Batman film, would be due Monday, December 6th (TOMORROW).

Since the script is being handed in very soon, should we expect a press release soon confirming the villains/story? Obviously things will take time to finalize, but don't be surprised if we started hearing some official news on Nolan's final Batman movie by early January.

Not the same cave as you, obviously...

@superkal whats your problem with nolan

and yes WB kick nolan off batman and bring brett ratner or even better joel nipplemacher on board, and we will really see the dark knight "rise" LOL
Twenty23Three - 12/5/2010, 5:04 AM
oh yeh I can see it now "hey nolan you gave us a franchise worth billions of dollars and the world is dying to see you give them another batman film. But a day late with that script and we will fire you and replace you with micheal bay" haha
Vafrous - 12/5/2010, 6:06 AM
I doubt Nolans gonna be in any "Big Trouble"...
At the end of the day, Nolan is the one who determines whether the movie is good or bad...

Nolan is one of the best directors out there, James Cameron has nothing on him (besides the Avatar technology which I thought was average)
Protonite - 12/5/2010, 6:53 AM
EDIT :P

"In big trouble" probably means trouble for his tight production schedule, and not trouble from WB. WB firing Nolan for submitting a script a little bit later than expected? Not gonna happen.

@Superkalkixass - Ignorant trolling is so 2006. You need a major upgrade, sister.
Vafrous - 12/5/2010, 7:10 AM
@MrDC... I agree
AlReg - 12/5/2010, 7:47 AM
It's an actual source not anyone claiming some trusted source told them something I have a feeling some people are off in their reports of the movie if it is being handed in on Monday.

@Superkalkixass

Yeah sure WB will fire the guy who made money with Dark Knight and Inception.
CapFanLex005 - 12/5/2010, 8:46 AM
It's not like it will be late, And Nolan is a film makers film maker the third Batman in his world will better then anyone can guess.

@Superkalkixass wtf?

@Everybody I thought CBM was mostly Nolan-friendly. Wtf is everybody's problem?

I swear i'm gonna make a definition on urbandictionary.com called:

Smallville-Hating: a form of hating, originated from the consistent hating on the tv show, 'Smallville', used to describe senseless and noobish hating on anything prosperous and/or considered good.
ohsoserious - 12/5/2010, 12:07 PM
@superkalkixass maybe they can get Singer to direct and we can get a sequel to Batman returns and Batman can have a kid too.
Nolan has done a phenomenal job making these movies and I'm pretty sure he'd be completely fine if he didn't turn the script in on time but hopefully he does and we get some real news on the movie and no more rumors or speculation.
And I'm with you @deadpool Hugo Strange doesn't interest me either and hopefully that is one of those fake rumors.

Superkalkixass & other haters its time U all wake up WB/DC is smart they will work with each other to make a great film stop hatin all the time I'm sick of it, Nolan had the guts to respect Bob Kane's creation & U should 2! Many of U want to see sum of the disrepectful interpretations done of Batman b4 but U must rememeber sum things things that R done in cartoons and comics does not always fit well in live action, Nolan has the best live action Batman series ever & Bale is the best Batman ever bcuz altho many of U complain about hsi voice it was the creative team that want the voice that way Bale had a job to do & he did I have no problem with the voice bcuz Batman is suppose to be terrifying to criminals and wen I look at it I want to be able to say "I did not know that was Bruce Wayne under the cape and cowl" Bale also along with Nolan caught the essence of the comics with stuff like the cape flowing.& Bale also is not a poser he actually did his own fight scenes, and stunts in majority and stood on top of the building in TDK, dont get me wrong I luv Burtons/Keatons version to but Nolan/Bale version is the best in all comic book films and Batman Begins & The Dark Knight are the best written and given comic book films since Superman the Movie, I respect Spider-man 1 & 2 also, so stop ur crying I am sure that The Dark Knight Rises will be great as well...Just because they use Hugo Strange as a villian does not mean that he will be the only and main villian, U all must 4get the Batman has argubly the best and most rogue gallery of villians ever, of course the Joker is a tuff act to follow but is can be followed. Not long ago many of U saying Riddler this Ridder that but if U would read Nolans actually comments he said "ALL DO RESPECT HE DOES NOT WANT TO USE MANY VILLIANS USED B4 HE WANTS TO EXPLORE VILLIANS NOT YET USED" Bottom line be patient & quit trying to guess the next movie bcuz if U don't enjoy it, it want be because it is not good, it will be because U tried to guess all of Batman mythology in one day, do go back and study Batmans world because in the DC Universe The Batman has 70 pluss year of stories and villians & take Batman's himself C.Bale's advice "Believe it when U hear it come from Chris Nolans mouth" not from anything one can put up on the internet.

No pun intended or disrespect to the creators and workers to this site.
kakinurmawth - 12/5/2010, 12:49 PM
I wish I could steal that script and read it!! I peed a little when I read this news, so exciting!

I really don't understand how Nolan could be a hack, boring director and overrated. All his films are character and story driven and very well thought out. Dude is as an intelligent filmmaker as they come. Also, he isn't one to have a huge ego either. He is a studios director-- that is, he doesn't bitch and moan when the studio interjects there desires for the films he is working on. I've read and seen a lot of interviews and he is very precise, direct, thought out, polite, and very considerate of what the studio over him wants from him (he understands that without the studios he would have no job!!). Dude is class act. A lot of so called directors could really learn from him. He treats you like an intelligent human being through his films instead of having shit just blow up and guys killing each other. All his films are on another level compared to most filmmakers out there today.
ohsoserious - 12/5/2010, 12:51 PM
@cbegin09 well put
ThreeBigTacos - 12/5/2010, 12:54 PM
SuperKal: hey man how far back into the closet are you? Nolan's Batman may not be the %100 faithful adaption you want, but WB loves Nolan's work, and so does the general audience.
kakinurmawth - 12/5/2010, 12:54 PM
@superkal: Curious, what directors do you like?
SuspenseSmith - 12/5/2010, 1:04 PM
lol. This reminds me of my finals this week... Better get back to studying.
THABATMAN - 12/5/2010, 1:06 PM
@Superkal

I just thought I should say that Nolan does not put crap on screen, although his movies are not 100% accurate to the comics, his movies are still amazing. Whether you agree with that or not, He is still making money off of that AND he helped make $1,001,921,825 in gross revenue. You can say that it was because of Heath Ledgers death or anything all you want, BUT he was still the director in that movie. Just like I tell Deadpool about Smallville, you can hate it all you want, but at the end of the day they are still making money (Smallville lasted 10 seasons and TDK earned $1,001,921,825 in revenue. They must be good enough for that.)
LOL - 12/5/2010, 1:07 PM
Superkalkixass, you've just proven you're a spoiled little illiterate juvenile delinquent. You obviously haven't read ALL the Batman source materials (ie comic books, etc). Go back to school, you don't know ANYTHING at all about the Batman mythos. You can't even use the right grammar in your replies. Go back to your cave, poser.

Calling someone a retard when you haven't even looked at yourself in front of a mirror proves your lower IQ. Listen, you pea-brained-donkey-diarrhea-faced-baboon - have some facts to shore up what your brainless self is spouting before someone gets the initiative to wipe your manure-stained self off the face of the planet.

...sit down, shut up, read the news. Don't bother replying to me because that will only prove to everyone here that you're a glutton for punishment.... and if you even dare try to copy what I've just said, it'll go to show you're dumber than I thought you were.
MovieTheaterLad - 12/5/2010, 1:08 PM
Am I the ONLY person who noticed that "tomorrow" is spelled wrong?

@Ysoserious

But... Batman DID have a kid.
kakinurmawth - 12/5/2010, 1:13 PM
@Superkal: well, I agree with Martin Campbell and Zach Snyder. Cameron has an ego...that dude is in outerspace. Burton's style in movies have been turning me away slowly with each movie he comes out with. He's still a great director and I would DEFINITELY choose Burton over Cameron and Michael Bay ANY day! I can't remember, did Burton direct Sweeney Todd??? That was a great film.
kakinurmawth - 12/5/2010, 1:17 PM
@movietheaterlad: nah, I noticed, I just didn't care

TheDetectiveComicRises - 12/5/2010, 1:30 PM
Superkalkixass how many movies have U done? who cares about what U think? oh thats right no one haz heard of ur movies, oh thats right no one but U cares about what U think, now listen here "little one or should I say nonBatman fan/no where near amazing" if U want to have a Batman show down animated, comic or live action I have some advice that two of the gr8test stars said b4 & that is..."Just Bring It & & That's the Bottomline! because U remind me of one of the 60's Batmans villians "EGGHEAD" lol! now lets put a smile :) on that face!
kakinurmawth - 12/5/2010, 1:32 PM
@superguy: the only new thing he did was make it a "real" story. It was a believable adaptation that pleased the fans and drew in a new crowd. I know I'm gonna get flak for sayin' this, but ALL Batman films before these were silly. Even every other CBM before these films weren't taking very serious (Raimi's Spidermans 1&2 could be exceptions but i don't think so). After Nolan really tried to make a movie about a dude in a batsuit serious and deal with real shit (emotionally and psychologically) he made an immensely powerful human connecting story that people gravitated to, that is what all successful films try to do.
GUNSMITH - 12/5/2010, 1:35 PM

I WONDER WHAT HIS NEW ARMOR WILL LOOK LIKE?
balegirlbrazil - 12/5/2010, 1:41 PM

ohsoserious - 12/5/2010, 2:28 PM
@superkal your are a tool all you can say us is Nolan's movies are boring and you want serioius not realistic I'm pretty sure both of Nolan's films were both serious and realistic so you look like a fool there. So since your such a gifted movie maker why don't you go make your own Batman movie and have your 6 friends and yourself go watch that on YouTube cause that's about as far as any shit you put out would go. So quit hating on Nolan cause your "writing and directing skills " suck and his doesn't you douche bag.
adamdusza - 12/5/2010, 2:43 PM
@SuperKalKixass, you are the biggest dumbass! Nolan is the greatest director ever! His Batman movies are not only the best comic book movies, but some of the greatest movies ever! Dr. Hugo Strange will make a great villain. Anything Nolan does will be epic.
adamdusza - 12/5/2010, 2:44 PM
Also btw do you know what a fact is? What you say about the movies is an OPINION! Dumbshit.
CaptainAmerica - 12/5/2010, 2:46 PM
superkal doesnt like to think while he watches movies, thats why he hates Chris Nolan. Dont worry though superkal, theres a cute Justin Beiber movie coming out soon, youll definitely enjoy it.
CaptainAmerica - 12/5/2010, 2:47 PM
superkal is an idiot troll who cant back anything up -FACT
KatanaHero - 12/5/2010, 2:52 PM
@Superkalkixass: How old are you? From the way you write, I say 13-16. So you must not remember what its like back in 1997, when Joel Schumacher made it almost embarrassing to say you were a Batman fan.

Before Tim Burton's first Batman movie in 1989, the general population equated Batman with that cheesy, campy 1960's show with Adam West (which is fun to watch, but almost destroyed any inkling of the character's dark origins in the comics).

Then in 1989, Tim Burton (one of your favorite directors, as you say) brought the character back to his true, dark nature and the character was taken seriously again.

Then in 1997, Schumacher released "Batman and Robin", and it was no longer cool to like Batman anymore. Everyone associated the character with being silly or some fruity gay person. It was not a good time to be a Batman fan.

But, skip ahead 8 years, and Christopher Nolan brings back the character to what he is meant to be, a brooding beast who strikes terror into criminals from the darkness. Because Batman has no powers, the movies have to be more realistic for people to take them seriously.

In 2008, Christopher Nolan showed that not just a Batman movie could be taken seriously, even by hardcore film critics, but he raised the bar immensely on what a comic book movie could/should be.

So, yeah, maybe Nolan isn't 100% true to the source material, but you can't deny that he has made the Dark Knight rise to a level higher than he's ever been before.
KatanaHero - 12/5/2010, 3:04 PM
How is Nolan's Batman not accurate?

-Batmobile
-Bat signal
-Utility belt with batarangs, gas bombs, grappling gun and other awesome gadgets
-Using the symbolism of the bat to terrify cowardly and superstitious criminals
-Villains who are inspired by Batman or have a particular gimmick
-Shaky relationship with the police/public of Gotham

Try reading Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Year One and Batman: The Killing Joke and then tell me how far away from the source material Nolan has gone.
AlexDeLarge87 - 12/5/2010, 3:12 PM
Hugo Strange, Talia Al Ghul, Bane, Deadshot, Black Mask, Red Hood, Max Cort, Catwoman, Scarecrow, Rupert Thorne or Firefly! Any three or two of these characters are fine by me!
KatanaHero - 12/5/2010, 3:12 PM
Well, you have the right to your opinions.
crounsa810 - 12/5/2010, 3:13 PM
Can someone PLEEASEEEE ban this damn troll? What the hell

Superkal....seriously you sound like a 10 year old. Just shut up. \

I hope Superman comes to your door and beats the crap out of you. Jesus Christ...
ohsoserious - 12/5/2010, 3:17 PM
@superkal I'm sorry did I touch a nerve cause I noticed you threw out some big words in your temper tantrum there. I have excellent taste in movies actually and your pissing and moaning about source material he's making a movie that is 2 hours long not a series of comic books that can go for years in the interest of time things need to be changed to fit a different story the only time they ever really need to get something right from the comic is when they do the origin and his origin was accurate so why don't you go jerk off to your homade story and your vast collection of Batman comics or don't watch the movies you stupid prick
