Mark Ruffalo Promises AGE OF ULTRON Scene On Par with THE AVENGERS' 'Puny God' Loki Smash

"Yeah, because I know what it is now," responded Mark Ruffalo when Total Film asked if he was excited to come back for Avengers: Age of Ultron. "I know the team, I have come to really enjoy these people and know them, and I'm so happy to see them have so much success. And I really love Joss Whedon. I really love working with him. He always gives me something that's a surprise to me. And so, yeah, it's been really nice coming back. It's also nerve-wracking because it did so well and people expect so much. You're balancing a lot in it, there's a lot of characters and a lot of story, and you're trying to figure out your work inside of it." After explaining how he'll have a bigger, complex role in the 2015 Marvel sequel, Ruffalo talked working on the Incredible Hulk with visual effects guru Andy Serkis. "[It has been] great, I love him," he said. "We met on 13 Going on 30, and he's created a place that's so actor-friendly and puts the actor front and centre of that technology, and has demystified it, and made it a comfortable place - although we may never get comfortable in those leotards. The technology is actually at a place where it's almost in real time for the most part so it's a lot like digital pupperty."

Mark Ruffalo was then asked if Marvel has slapped his wrists for his Twitter/Instagram updates from the Avengers: Age of Ultron set. "All the time!" he replied, laughing. "I'm the green sheep of the Marvel family. But I think they're starting to catch on - I think all of us are starting to catch on- that you can't hurt a movie by doing that stuff. You really can't. It just makes people buy into it more. It makes them part of it, they're invested in it. It's not that precious for God's sake." Speaking of Ruffalo's social media updates, a Twitter user recently asked the Bruce Banner/Hulk actor if fans can expect a scene in Age of Ultron similar to the smashing "Puny God" sequence. "Let me put it to you this way," Ruffalo replied, "There is a Hulk surprise that is equally delightful as when he smashed the bejesus out of Loki." Furthermore, Mark Ruffalo described to another Twitter user what a typical day is like on the Avengers: Age of Ultron set. "Well a typical day always begins in the make up chair. Where fortification's taken which constitutes a little nap and face message," he started. "Afterwards we are a coaxed into our costumes and out of our trailers, which is usually a hardship for the coaxer. Then we assemble on set and do a rehearsal which at some point or another ends up in Thor getting completely fed up with us mortals. Then we repeat that many times over the course of the day interspersed with camera moves, pee breaks, coffee, lunch, and make up." What do you think?

Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson, and James Spader. The film is set for release on May 1, 2015.

Does he pronounce his name "Circus" or is there an accent on it? Like does he pronounce it "Seerkwah" or "Larry" or some shit?
RedeemerOfSouls - 6/6/2014, 9:44 AM
Just because we liked 2 comedic Hulk scenes in Avengers doesn't mean we want more of that. Both those scenes were slapstick comedy.
They need to put away the gags and do some serious, badass stuff.

We don't need any more Marvel comedy movies.
AlphaAndDecima - 6/6/2014, 9:44 AM
So there's a scene just as stupid?
Brainiac13 - 6/6/2014, 9:44 AM
Ok I get it! :)
blackandyellow - 6/6/2014, 9:44 AM
I predict that Avengers 2 will be [frick]ing perfect and then Avengers 3 will be total shit. There's a pattern to these things.
ATrueHero1987 - 6/6/2014, 9:46 AM
I Loved that scene! I'll never forget me and the whole theater's reaction when Hulk smashed Loki.
Brainiac13 - 6/6/2014, 9:46 AM
WoW!

Lots of Hulk news.......maybe he'll spill the beans and tell us.......

PLANET HULK.
yossarian - 6/6/2014, 9:47 AM
Yeah. [frick] all this laughing shit. The Hulk needs to make me think about serious social issues and the current political climate. He is the Hulk and has a responsibility to make me think about the world we are leaving our youth.
AxeEffect - 6/6/2014, 9:47 AM
I don't want on par, I want it to surpass that scene, I'm a fanboy and my demands have to be met yada yada....Hail hydra :P

looking forward to this!
batcheeks8 - 6/6/2014, 9:47 AM
No matter how shitty these movies get, if there are scenes like that people will eat it up.
Pasto - 6/6/2014, 9:47 AM
Place your bets that he bitch slaps Ultron.
Omarvls - 6/6/2014, 9:48 AM

@batcheeks8

"No matter how shitty these movies get, if there are scenes like that people will eat it up."

You're not putting Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice on that shitty movies get list right?
BlackHulk - 6/6/2014, 9:50 AM
Please let us get a Hulk that talks and not some roided out monster with autism.
DefcoN - 6/6/2014, 9:50 AM
"Puny bot"
Asterisk - 6/6/2014, 9:50 AM
Yeah, how dare this movie try to be FUN?

The comedy works because we're dealing with a tin-man, a fish out of water soldier draped in red, white and blue, a giant green monster, and a Shakespearian sounding god-man. Get over it.
Highflyer - 6/6/2014, 9:52 AM
I hope he doesn't act like a gorilla with a skin condition in this one. That's my only gripe.
Gusto - 6/6/2014, 9:52 AM
I promise you all...
I'm gonna get super-wasted after work.
You have my word.
Jollem - 6/6/2014, 9:52 AM
i just want them to deliver a better movie this time
yossarian - 6/6/2014, 9:53 AM
I hope Marvel makes Avengers 4 and there is no bad guy. It's just a bunch of heroes sitting around in a dark corner booth in a chop house irritating one another with jokes. I hope it makes 5 billion dollars.
ThePowerCosmic - 6/6/2014, 9:54 AM
The Avengers is the Golden Standard all CBMs should shoot for IMO.
RetroFit - 6/6/2014, 9:55 AM
Yeah, Serkis has been his mo-cap coach for this movie. Ruffalo really invests himself into his performances and he wants to do the best job possible. Great stuff!
yossarian - 6/6/2014, 9:55 AM
I'm drinking already Gusto. We think my bossman is getting fired. So everyone is sitting around waiting for the hammer to fall.
MrReese - 6/6/2014, 9:56 AM
Sounds great.Hulk was the best part.

KallarkKent - 6/6/2014, 9:57 AM
It will be difficult but if anyone can outdo that scene it is Joss :)

sKeemAn - 6/6/2014, 9:58 AM
So Hulk is going to smash the hell out of Ultron. Good. They should have him falling from the sky like a meteor on his metallic ass.
sKeemAn - 6/6/2014, 9:59 AM
They need to buy Joss Whedon again to do the third Avengers movie. I can really see that one as not being as good as the first 2.
Omarvls - 6/6/2014, 9:59 AM
Hulk vs Hulkbuster
Hulk vs Ultron
Hulk vs Military

Yeah

Age of Ultron is going to be EPIC
NetmanTripleSec - 6/6/2014, 10:00 AM
Fantastic.
Ramiel - 6/6/2014, 10:01 AM
I'm curious, did anyone complain about DOFP having so much comedy in it?
MightOfMagneto - 6/6/2014, 10:02 AM
Boohooo Avenger must be fun ... No drama whatsoever... Just action and more explosion...
Ramiel - 6/6/2014, 10:03 AM
@Omar

I want to see Hulk and Thor go at it again. This time, with Thor not holding back ala against the Frost Giants, Destroyer, and the Kronnan.
MightOfMagneto - 6/6/2014, 10:04 AM
Nobody complains on DOFP's humor because it was not forced.
AwesomeSauce - 6/6/2014, 10:04 AM
YES.
