Sculptor/construction worker Duncan Crawford blogs about the CBMSs he is working on!
On THIS blogspot, sculptor and construction worker Duncan Crawford reports that he works on some of the films he is working on:

November 9, 2009
"Been very busy working on sets for the upcoming THOR movie and yes, the hammer they have designed for it is sweet."

October 19, 2009
"Both Iron Man 2 and Jonah Hex have wrapped shooting, I just spent a month sculpting on Priest which is now filming, Thor is in the construction phase and Spiderman 4, Green Lantern and Captain America are ramping up quickly."

Some other films Duncan has worked on are "Transformers 2," "Land of the Lost," "Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," and "National Treasure: Book of Secrets."

MarvelFreshman: I really hope "Captain America" ramps up as quickly as he said it is. It seems that we'll probably get casting announcements of the supporting characters, before we get an announcement for Steve Rogers/Captain America. I do think that should wait until after "Thor" begins filming.

i hate the [frick]ing ultimate hammer...in fact i hate ultimate thor. but in another hand i love ultimate hawkeye (the one draw by bryan hitch, no the stupid mask ryder draw by madureira)
optimus - 11/29/2009, 7:20 PM
They will most likely go with the ultimate thor look.

optimus: Yeah, although I would like to see the original Hawkeye costume, Bryan Hitchs interpretation of the character is awesome!!! :)

Yeah, Modern Thor costume/hammer all the way

InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/29/2009, 8:08 PM
one thing i hate of ultimate thor is basically the costume (no cape!), the hammer (its a hammer or a cafe machine WTF?) but mostly.. no donald blake..
where is the punish to thor? the humiliation of be a disabled human ?
for my the all thing about thor ....is the transition from a helpless human to the god of thunder.
how he taste the pain, the misery even the love (non correspond)all things of human being.
and odin (in a wise way) make a most powerfull thor through its punish-journey to midgard.
optimus - 11/29/2009, 8:13 PM
Don't like Ultimate Thor look. I am really hoping they will use Thor's current costume in 616. That mail looks fantastic and it doesn't differ too strongly from the classic.
ScionStorm - 11/29/2009, 8:15 PM
I like the current costume its like an update of the classic kirby costume
optimus - 11/29/2009, 8:19 PM
Really hope that doesn't mean that the hammer will be much different from the Kirby mallet. I'll bet we'll start getting leaks or at least some more solid promotional teaser stuff soon.
Simonsonrules - 11/29/2009, 8:44 PM
It's very interesting how Ultimate Thor fans can't help but harass everyone about it.

DarthMulder - 11/29/2009, 8:48 PM
Yeah the ultimate thor fans are sure doing a lot of it on this thread mulder ;p
Personally I enjoyed both Thor's, I love the donald blake punishment of the original and I love the beatnik ultimate Thor, he just seems to act like I think a god would in the modern mortal world and it makes me laugh.

I hope for a good melding of the two.
thwhtGuardian - 11/29/2009, 9:00 PM
I'm weird when it comes to Thor, it may be because I was never really into Thor until the new run, but there are parts of the old 616 Thor and the Ultimates Thor that I like and dislike.

I love the modern 616 Thor costume, but I could see them tone it down when he falls to Earth.

I dislike the mini mallet Mjolnir of the regular Marvel Universe, because... well its a freaking mallet not a war hammer. I'm not a big fan of Ultimate Thor's hammer either.... how about something like this as a compromise:

It is still a hammer in the classic sense, but the shaft is long enough for you to really bash something with the damn thing.

I understand that Blake was a form of punishment for Thor, but I don't think he is needed... too much like Captain Marvel.

I like the Ultimate Thor's first interactions with the Avengers in that no one really believed him to be a real GOD, just a guy with powers that they didn't understand. In the end he proves to them he is a real God in spectacular fashion.

In the end I think the film Thor is going to be an amalgam of 616 and Ultimate. I just hope they pull the better parts of each when they combine them into Film Thor. How ever Thor is made I have faith in Marvel and Branagh to pull off a good result.

nerosday - 11/29/2009, 10:10 PM
thor's hammer is small in 616 because loki cut the handle in half to weaken its power. (i believe)
CorndogBurglar - 11/29/2009, 10:15 PM
Corndog-- Really? Where that from?
Betty - 11/29/2009, 11:12 PM
The hammer is small because Loki distracted one of the craftsman that forged it in an attempt destroy the hammer. Thor annual #11 1983 tells several stories from Thor's youth from birth to banishment.

And as far as the cape, well, we all know it looks great in the comics but if we want realism there is no way a warrior like Thor actually wears a cape into battle. It would get you killed plain and simple.
90caliber - 11/29/2009, 11:17 PM
This is BRANAGH here it will be CLASSIC HAMMER!!!

He wont want that ULTIMATE SH1T!! ; D
LEEE777 - 11/29/2009, 11:44 PM
This is how i read the modern Thor... and ya know what i Loved it!So let your love flow :)
shibazz - 11/30/2009, 12:17 AM
Corndog now I know... and knowing is half the battle. The other 25% are red and blue lasers, 10% Village people costuming, and 15% ninjas. Oh, yeah lots of ninjas in white, purple, and red costumes because black makes too much sense.
nerosday - 11/30/2009, 12:43 AM
@nerosday- Yeah Loki cut off the handle, but that was actually from the original myth. Thor's hammer was always a one hander. That's another reason why I hate Ultimate Thor sooooo much, also that he's a terribly written character.
Ryden - 11/30/2009, 1:14 AM
Kenneth's background and vision wouldnt allow him to use the Ultimate thor costume or character for that matter! i'm not worried.
Kes - 11/30/2009, 2:42 AM

grif - 11/30/2009, 4:33 AM
Wards@ But damnit there should be lol
teabag - 11/30/2009, 6:12 AM
@ tea

there should also be a thunder god. then maybe hamlet would be cool
CorndogBurglar - 11/30/2009, 7:13 AM
@ Kes: Yeah but have you seen the endless stream of bullshit that has been spammed here recently? It never stops.

I really just don't see the point of constantly stating and restating your opinion in thread after thread, and in ridiculous op/ed pieces posted AS NEWS.

Unless of course it's just to antagonize those that disagree. And that's not very nice now is it?
Sounds a little bit like trolling doesn't it? Or perhaps a bit of internet thuggery hmmmm??
DarthMulder - 11/30/2009, 7:13 AM
I hope we don't get to see Thor or get a Cap announcement til after Iron Man 2. How great would it be to see Tony, Fury, Thor, Cap, and Banner together after the credits. I would flip out. There are very few surprises in movies anymore.

I like Thor either way: Ultimate or Regular. But I suppose my fave is how he's looking in the comics now. A bit've a revamp of the original costume. I can't wait to see some pics from the movie! :)
Runefyst - 11/30/2009, 11:34 AM
Any Thor will be good, I like both of them.
