Tom Hiddleston Dishes On The Avengers; 'Loki' Goes Toe-To-Toe With Each Hero!

Interestingly revealing that his mischief-maker 'Loki' goes toe-to-toe with every mighty hero in The Avengers, check out a recent chat with actor Tom Hiddleston from D23!

Discussing his God Of Mischief role in next summer's The Avengers, as well filming he has remaining, the folks from Collider caught up with the actor behind 'Loki,' Tom Hiddleston at Disney's D23 Expo. Also interestingly revealing he goes "toe-to-toe" with every superhero in the highly-anticipated film, watch the video interview below.

“Loki goes toe to toe with every superhero. I have had a one on one with Robert Downey Jr. A one on one with Chris Hemsworth. A one on one with Scarlett. A one on one with Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Sam Jackson. And it’s so exciting to see how the different chemistry is. Not just between the actors. So my one on one with Robert becomes a battle of wit’s and words. My one on one with Chris Hemsworth ends up in both of us knocking ten bells (I think that’s what he said) again because that’s how we communicate. It’s been the most exciting thing I’ve ever done. It’s giant and will be amazing.”

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

A lot is going on in this movie, so I wouldn't be surprised if the length is close to 3 hours.

I'm hoping this movie clocks in at 2:30. I don't think I'm going to want to leave the theater after seeing all of them together on-screen. Easily my most anticipated film next year, Spider-Man in 2nd. Superman would be 2nd, but sadly they pushed it back.

If this goes well (and it will), we could see so many different characters. Just imagine Captain Mar-Vell, Nova, Thanos, Hercules, She Hulk (oh yeah!), even Korvac and Rocket Raccon! It's mind bottling!

The most I'm really excited to see is Loki vs. Tony Stark (verbally) Word-for-word, that would be the most interesting and entertaining conversation ever! XD

okay so i believe that loki will use his wit and words to make bruce/hulk second guess his role in the avengers team. making hulk turn against them hence the fight between hulk and avengers plus its similar to a kind of brainwash we see in Avengers#1.

Hopefully magic with Thor... Thor is way to strong and Iron Man isn't a whimp either. Sorry but I like Loki as the enemy... He is one that could do some damage but he can't go strength to strength with Thor.

@ckal yeah this movie definitely has to be a MINIMUM of 2:40. What I think they should do is make a running time like those old time classic movies from like the 60s. You know like Ben Hur and Spartacus. Those movies were like 3+ hours long.

For a movie this epic, with this many characters and this many plot points they are hitting on they need to a) have a long feature time so it doesn't feel rushed and b) reward the fans who have seen all the previous marvel movies and finally want to see this team up.

I am hoping for a 3:10 running time because I think that's realistic but still long.

This tidbit is boosting me back up. Familiar MARVEL aliens almost being ruled out was a little worrisome. But I can't see Loki going one on one with each Avenger in the same fashion he did with THOR in THOR. So I'm thinking he uses HULK like he used the Destroyer armor. Classic Avenger story. I just hope if Loki speaks through HULK, that HULK has other scenes where his HULK-speak is established.

Tom and Chris are cooler than frost giants. Going to the movies as regular bros. Awesome.
