Last but not least, FilmInk's visit to the set of Marvel's The Avengers movie included a chat with the actor behind Thor's God Of Mischief, Tom Hiddleston. Rehashing on things the character's been through since failing in Thor, while seemingly teasing his mystery "army," read on below!

"He and Thor literally have superhuman powers," the British actor says. "Within the Marvel Universe, Loki has the keys to the universe, and he's been down all those dark alleyways in space. He's met all the monsters and made friends with them."

Alluding to the backstory, saying that between the gap from Thor's end and The Avengers's beginning, Loki has taken a journey to the Marvel version of The Seventh Circle Of Hell and brought back secrets. "He's an all-power-being," he says smiling. "Loki's agenda, like all delusional, would-be autoratic fascists, is power, which he believes will give him self-esteem. I haven't let go of the fat that he still motivated by this terrible jealousy and spiritual desolation."

Marvel's The Avengers is the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner with Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston, directed by Joss Whedon, Marvel's The Avengers will be released May 4, 2012.

@ComicsCommando

What blueorangeny said.

The "first trailer" for TDKR was only a teaser, not a full trailer.
brewtownpsych - 12/23/2011, 11:19 AM
SHHH, do you have a link to the prologue, high quality? please post if you do.
DCMarvelFreshman - 12/23/2011, 11:22 AM

Seventh level of Hell? Could he have brought Surtur to Earth or maybe he's talking Negative zone.
JDUKE25 - 12/23/2011, 11:28 AM
Sweet. But I really hope the Avengers won't be Marvel's "New Year's Eve" movie with a bunch of heroes thrown together in a movie.....
BlackAmerica - 12/23/2011, 11:28 AM
Marbel... lol

Still say if you answer who has blue blood in the Marvel universe you will know who the villians are. Thor had blue blood on him in the last pic of him and Cap! Problem is I do not know!
Merry Christmas to all my CBM friends!

@ illwill

bring on the second the dark knight rises destroying avenger trailer.
Mechagino - 12/23/2011, 12:44 PM
Hey, if he meets up with Mephisto maybe we'll never see one more day the movie. :D
m0th3r - 12/23/2011, 1:04 PM
@Intruder maybe not dorammu, but i bet we get a cameo or teaser with the high potential of a Doc Strange being the next flick. Maybe a in movie cameo, with a post trailer tease for a doctor strange movie.

Also, i cant help but think about Black Panther...seeing as he is an Avenger, he would make a good add, has been teased, and truthfully, Marvel doesn't have a very diverse cast going on right now.
TheDpool - 12/23/2011, 1:14 PM
Hiddleston just reinsures me that this movie will be epic
meatbag - 12/23/2011, 1:33 PM
I don't think we're going to see Thanos, or Dormammu, or Skrulls, or ANYbody except Loki and his army of "monsters." As awesome as it might be, as much as we may hope that the people who write, direct, and produce this stuff have read the comics we read and want to see what we want to see, I don't see it happening this time around. With everything that's already got to be packed into it, I don't think Marvel/Disney is going to go the extra mile for us. I'm as excited as anybody to see this film, but to be honest, I'll be glad if it's even as good as the animated Ultimate Avengers movies.
BlindLemonShemp - 12/23/2011, 1:35 PM
Terrible Journey? 7th Circle of Hell? Monsters? Fascists? Desolation? Friends? PuzzleBox? Cenobites?

Welcome to Hell Avengers! Loki's got Cenobites!

Since this is geared for a trilogy (as most tentpoles are nowadays) Thanos should be saved for a second movie.

The first movie should have Loki manipulating the Kree/Krulls to find the Infinity Gauntlet which is hidden on earth somewhere to fix Skrull Homeworld/Kree Supreme Intelligence. After credits scene would have it being found in WAKANDA...hint hint

The second movie would involve the recruitment of Black Panther (and Klaw as an agent of Thanos) into the Avengers initiative and Thanos taking notice of the Infinity Gauntlet and wanting to use it to impress Death (and a REAL Thanos...not like Galactus in FF2) After credits scene would tease Ultron

The final movie would be the coming of Kang the Conquerer with a flashback of his Immortus identity warning them of a coming threat...Stark uses S.H.I.E.L.D scientist Henry Pym to rush his Ultron prototype to disastrous results i Since this is geared for a trilogy (as most tentpoles are nowadays) Thanos should be saved for a second movie.

Dont know if there would be room to add yet another new member because it would get to be a little too much. Maybe Carol Danvers to add another female to the group? All culminating in a huge throwdown in Kang

UltimateMarvel - 12/23/2011, 3:06 PM
Best choice for first bad guy for the Avengers to face. Love the fact we do not know the rest of the bad guys.

"Loki's agenda, like all delusional, would-be autoratic fascists, is power, which he believes will give him self-esteem."

Sounds like the agenda of every insecure Marvelite.

Ace101 - 12/23/2011, 7:47 PM
it cant be a coincidence http://i.annihil.us/u/prod/avengersmovie/teaser7/wallpaper.html?file=assets/images/wallpapers/avengers_wp1_1920.jpg

my money is on Annihilus with a cameo from Thanos who maybe will appaer in the end of credit scene, im also hoping for a preview for the series of post avengers movies after the end of credit scenes like Dr Strange, GotG, Thor 2, Iron Man 3, Hulk 2. we can hope right :)
