More IRON MAN 3 Set Photos With Iron Patriot Armor

Offering an idea what the scene deals with, more photos from the Wilmington set of Iron Man 3 have surfaced with James Badge Dale donning the Iron Patriot armor, along with uniformed extras.

Following the reports and unexpected sightings of the Iron Patriot armor on the Wilmington set of Iron Man 3, WTDD have revealed additional photos from the shoot. Offering more views of the battlesuit, reportedly donned by actor James Badge Dale (Eric Savin), in addition to uniformed "Serviceman" extras, check them out!















Described as a “technological crisis thriller,” set in the world of international war, arms & terror, Marvel Studios' “Iron Man 3” stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Andy Lau, Ashley Hamilton, James Badge Dale, with Sir Ben Kingsley and Jon Favreau. Shane Black (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”) takes over directorial duties from Jon Favreau, who helmed the first two “Iron Man” films. Principal photography will occur primarily in North Carolina and China. And “Iron Man 3” is set for release in May 3, 2013.

Something tells me this armor isn't going to be too important in the movie, for starters this isn't related to the Iron Patriot at all, obviously.

More likely this suit would be just for show (similar to the Hammer drones), also it looks like this armor was designed after the War Machine suit and not Ironman's, so perhaps this is just another armor of the government that the James Badge character is testing.

i think that iron patriot will work for the goverment and that he must protect them and get tony and shit ore something and later on he will help tony and rhodes in the final battle ore something.

My guess: This is like the official "american Iron-Man weapon" The USA got the tech through Rhodey in IM2 so they built their own in order to defend the country and not depend on Stark anymore, even the name "Firepower" would fit for such a mocve. As we heard IM3 is about spionage and terror so maybe China (or 10Rings as an organization) will also built a new weapon or armor, maybe suited by Guy Pearce and lead by Kingsley.

And now, Stark is in between a coming War and has probably to fight both sides with the help of Extremis-Virus at the end. This would be my wild guess.

OH MY GOSH!!!!!! See this is why marvel needs the rights to spidey. That could have been Norman Osborn if marvel had spidey's movie rights. It will be cool either way though. I was not expecting this.

Just gets better for me. Had no idea we'd get IP this soon. We are a step closer to.... SUPERHERO REGISTRATION!!! Maybe the military confiscated Rhodey's suit... Therefore, no War Machine in this. And this proves that Marvel is fine (and has plenty) of characters to use for their films. X-Men, F4, Spider-Man are puny (incredibly puny) to what they're planning. Let Fox and Sony knock themselves out.

I don't know. After thinking it over, I'm starting to think that it maybe an incarnation of Detroit STeel. Or I may be wrong. Who knows? Just can't wait for this movie. :D

There's three theories/possibities of what this armor can be:

1) That this armor really is the Iron Patriot armor which Tony created for unknown reasons. (Publicity, maybe? Just for his image? Who knows?)
2) This maybe a splice character of both Coldblood and Detroit Steel.
3) Maybe someone has confiscated the War Machine armor (as @3D mentioned), redisgned the design of the armor, added some new weaponry, and gave it to whoever that character is.

QUestions, questions, questions. :/

I wonder where the hell they are going with this. Mandarin? Patriot? Extremis? Sounds like a hodgepodge.
