Set Photos Confirm Iron Patriot Armor To Be Featured In IRON MAN 3

New set photos confirm that The Iron Patriot Armor will be gracing Tony Stark's newest solo movie Iron Man 3, but it's not Stark who will be the one wearing the suit but a character played by James Badge Dale.

New photos from the web site thesuperficial.com show that the Iron Patriot armor will be making its way to the big screen in Iron Man 3. The Armor was first seen in 2009's Dark Avengers comics following the events of Secret Invasion. In the comics Norman Osbourne is the first to put the Iron Patriot armor on, but with Sony owning the rights to pretty much everything Spider-Man related that rules this particular villain out. In the photos you can see actor James Badge Dale wearing the Iron Patriot armor.

Thanks to a heads up from WolvieCBM

Iron Man 3 is currently kicking off its production in North Carolina at the moment. We have had a couple of stories pop up regarding some details on who Ben Kingsly is playing as well as Robert Downey Jr being spotted arriving on set. The film is being directed by Shane Black and is slated for a May 3rd of 2013 release.

cataract=fail

where is the [frick]ing picture?
soundwave129 - 5/30/2012, 11:51 AM
I hope it doesn't appear! The Iron Patriot armor should always be Norman Osborn's, I'd much rather have it not appear in a universe where Norman never existed.
DukeAcureds - 5/30/2012, 11:51 AM
Who's in the suit, Willem Dafoe?
Greengo - 5/30/2012, 11:53 AM
wtf? telavizion is that it? where'd you get that?
Greengo - 5/30/2012, 11:53 AM

Looks awesome!
Hellsing - 5/30/2012, 12:03 PM

HULK2099 - 5/30/2012, 12:04 PM

HarveyDent88 - 5/30/2012, 12:04 PM
Please no.
Darkhawk8 - 5/30/2012, 12:05 PM
looks kinda cool.
Spidey91 - 5/30/2012, 12:05 PM
maybe he build it in honor to Captain America and gets stolen at some point
WolvieCBM - 5/30/2012, 12:06 PM
This is gonna be interesting. Very cool.
Dynamo - 5/30/2012, 12:08 PM
I'm betting that it's built by the army or Pearce's character in order to make himself seem heroic to the public.
Darkhawk8 - 5/30/2012, 12:10 PM
So will War Machine also be making an appearance?
Darkhawk8 - 5/30/2012, 12:11 PM
the shoulder cannon is kinda cool.
PantherX - 5/30/2012, 12:12 PM
Um.. wow.Was not expecting that at all. Really like the design!
Hawksblueyes - 5/30/2012, 12:15 PM
Just because that's red, white and blue doesn't mean it's the Iron Patriot. If it were, I think they would have been better off to follow the design from the comics. That looks goofy.

It's probably some 4th of July celebration armor that Coldblood is wearing.
Spidey91 - 5/30/2012, 12:17 PM
totally off-topic here but....
I WISH THOSE F*CKING ADS WOULD SHUT THE F*CK UP!
every goddamn time I click on an article some weirdo starts whispering in my ears!

on topic again...that's a pretty big leak for a movie that just started filming
himynameisnik - 5/30/2012, 12:17 PM
Wow I was totally not expecting that...
Dynamo - 5/30/2012, 12:18 PM
@Hawksblueyes
It's also got a star on it's chest, bro. It's definitely an Iron Patriot suit.
SageMode - 5/30/2012, 12:20 PM
Wow. AWESOME.

MARVEL IS WINNING BIOTCHES!
Curmudgeon - 5/30/2012, 12:21 PM
Hm. Wonder if this almost automatically debunks Latino Review's report, or if there's still room to make that work.
LucasMend - 5/30/2012, 12:22 PM

It has motion-capture stuff on the legs, a celebration suit with motion-caps would be weird
himynameisnik - 5/30/2012, 12:23 PM
Really not sure about this at all. The only reason I'll trust it is RDJ Says it's like one of the best scripts he's ever written and we've heard nothing but high praise about the script. God I hope they don't overload this film and ruin it
FightAs0ne - 5/30/2012, 12:24 PM
Only one man deserves to wear that suit lmao jk
Fogs - 5/30/2012, 12:25 PM
hehe, he's probably using that in july 4 or something like that.

Also, to make fun of caps, probably.

And the cannon shoots fireworks.
BIGBMH - 5/30/2012, 12:26 PM
Very interesting. From the set pics, the design doesn't look as good as the comic version, but I'll wait until I see officially released images and footage before I make my final evaluation.
Sanderman - 5/30/2012, 12:26 PM
I'm not too familiar with iron patriot..he's a bad guy?
OdinsBeard - 5/30/2012, 12:26 PM
FU CK YEAH!!!
Dynamo - 5/30/2012, 12:26 PM
@Fogs
If you look you can see it's James Badge Dale in the suit. So it's not Stark in the suit.
CaptainObvious - 5/30/2012, 12:26 PM
It seems a little bit of Cap rubbed off on Tony.
OdinsBeard - 5/30/2012, 12:26 PM
sanderman@ it's norman osbron in the comics.
Ghostfire - 5/30/2012, 12:27 PM
Holy shit! Never saw this coming! Looks awesome though.
shiverman20 - 5/30/2012, 12:28 PM
FACK YES! probably my favourite villain from anything in a long time (even thought it's not gonna be Osborn, still a personal geeky highlight)
AlexDeLarge87 - 5/30/2012, 12:29 PM
OKEY!O_O

I would prefer him to be the cyborg from comics.

Although it could be that he wears the suit in somekind of celebration ceremony or something like Hawksblueyes said.
Fogs - 5/30/2012, 12:29 PM
@Dynamo - OOPS! hehe, my bad
PartyHard - 5/30/2012, 12:30 PM
This could use some [frick]ing spoilers
DrHop - 5/30/2012, 12:31 PM
Looks good, can't wait to see Extremis on the big screen.

I'm pumped for Guy Pearce as the villain. Marvel, dont let me down!
AlexDeLarge87 - 5/30/2012, 12:33 PM
I hope he becomes the cyborg. It would add a little grittyness for the movie.
FoxForce5 - 5/30/2012, 12:34 PM
Whatever the deal with the story here, it looks pretty damn cool!
TheMyth - 5/30/2012, 12:34 PM
I dig it.I just hope they keep the idea behind the IP armor and I'll forget about Osborn. By that I mean I want it to come out when Tony has [frick]ed something up and the whole patriot thing is propaganda the public eats up until he's revealed as a bastard, etc.
webslinger2099 - 5/30/2012, 12:35 PM
this looks amazing and fake at the same time
SuperAnt - 5/30/2012, 12:37 PM
This is BADASS

Marvel are doing some more character splicing...

if we remember the whole crimson dynamo/whiplash from IM2, so I guess they're now splicing Coldblood/Iron Patriot...?

Its actually a clever way to introduce more villains from the same universe in a short amount of time. We'll get more bad guys per movie now...

GOOD JOB MARVEL
AlexDeLarge87 - 5/30/2012, 12:38 PM
Wonder how Ashley Hamilton as Firepower fits in this all? And are they going to show Rhodey as War-Machine again (I hope they do).
plasticman - 5/30/2012, 12:38 PM
Sweet, just hope this plays into the continuity of the other two Iron Mans and the Avengers. Where is War Machine?
GreyChaos13Zero - 5/30/2012, 12:38 PM
hope it looks badass on film, cool tho?)

crossbonez09 - 5/30/2012, 12:38 PM
that looks a little like happy to me anyone else?
