Set Photos Confirm Iron Patriot Armor To Be Featured In IRON MAN 3

New set photos confirm that The Iron Patriot Armor will be gracing Tony Stark's newest solo movie Iron Man 3, but it's not Stark who will be the one wearing the suit but a character played by James Badge Dale.

New photos from the web site thesuperficial.com show that the Iron Patriot armor will be making its way to the big screen in Iron Man 3. The Armor was first seen in 2009's Dark Avengers comics following the events of Secret Invasion. In the comics Norman Osbourne is the first to put the Iron Patriot armor on, but with Sony owning the rights to pretty much everything Spider-Man related that rules this particular villain out. In the photos you can see actor James Badge Dale wearing the Iron Patriot armor.

Iron Man 3 is currently kicking off its production in North Carolina at the moment. We have had a couple of stories pop up regarding some details on who Ben Kingsly is playing as well as Robert Downey Jr being spotted arriving on set. The film is being directed by Shane Black and is slated for a May 3rd of 2013 release.

I hope it doesn't appear! The Iron Patriot armor should always be Norman Osborn's, I'd much rather have it not appear in a universe where Norman never existed.

Just because that's red, white and blue doesn't mean it's the Iron Patriot. If it were, I think they would have been better off to follow the design from the comics. That looks goofy.

It's probably some 4th of July celebration armor that Coldblood is wearing.

Really not sure about this at all. The only reason I'll trust it is RDJ Says it's like one of the best scripts he's ever written and we've heard nothing but high praise about the script. God I hope they don't overload this film and ruin it

Very interesting. From the set pics, the design doesn't look as good as the comic version, but I'll wait until I see officially released images and footage before I make my final evaluation.

If you look you can see it's James Badge Dale in the suit. So it's not Stark in the suit.

I dig it.I just hope they keep the idea behind the IP armor and I'll forget about Osborn. By that I mean I want it to come out when Tony has [frick]ed something up and the whole patriot thing is propaganda the public eats up until he's revealed as a bastard, etc.

Marvel are doing some more character splicing...

if we remember the whole crimson dynamo/whiplash from IM2, so I guess they're now splicing Coldblood/Iron Patriot...?

Its actually a clever way to introduce more villains from the same universe in a short amount of time. We'll get more bad guys per movie now...
