New IRON MAN 3 ‘Mark XLVII’ Promo Art Revealed

Even though we've had a decent look at the armor, said to be Tony Stark's Mark 47 suit in Iron Man 3, it's now featured in a few pieces of new promotional art! Check it out after the jump!

Some time next month, wider promotional efforts can be expected for Iron Man 3, which is the beginning of Marvel's Phase 2 slate and first outing post-The Avengers box office behemoth. And while that marketing may kickoff with still photos and a trailer coinciding, until then, promo art may be all we have to look forward to. And featuring what's reportedly Tony Stark's Mark XLVII armor, for which spoilerific details surfaced last week, I've now stumbled across new promo art for the anticipated Robert Downey Jr. starrer.









Described as a “technological crisis thriller,” set in the world of international war, arms & terror, Marvel Studios' “Iron Man 3” stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Dale Dickey, Ashley Hamilton, James Badge Dale, with Sir Ben Kingsley and Jon Favreau. Shane Black (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”) takes over directorial duties from Jon Favreau, who helmed the first two “Iron Man” films. Principal photography will occur primarily in North Carolina and China. And “Iron Man 3” is set for release in May 3, 2013.

the segmented faceplate looks like the faceplate from the mark 5. i wonder if that's because of statistical analysis from audiences?

I love this armour I was getting a little sick and tired of all the red, the suites all started looking so similar there wasn't enough difference like there is in the comic, I think they should have pushed it a little more and went with the diamond shaped chest plat and then Joss could have made it round again for A2 :).

rather than this new armor, Ben Kingsley's look as the Mandarin is the thing i'm most eager to see. really hope he won't look ridiculous.

I hope the suit looks that in the film.

My only complaint with the new armor is it doesn't look to have a gold chrome paint job like the previous Iron Man suits.

All of you people who are hating on the suit will bite your own tongues when you see the movie. Everyone complained about the Captain America suit in The Avengers; looked great in the movie.

Still don't like the suit but I'll reserve final judgment for when I see it in action. Oh and btw people this is the promo art. Promo art always looks better then the real life stuff. Judging the suit on these pics is just pointless.

Marvelstudios @ caps suit in avengers was ok. Far from being great. It worked for most parts of the film and he had his helmet off half the time anyways. Those still shots are still bad. That said caps character was one of my favorites in the movie, just not his suit.

The suit looks great to me i don't mind that gold dominates the red in this one, he'll get more suits so they'll probably go back to the old fashioned color scheme. What bugs me is that the gold metal in the pic above isn't similar AT ALL to the Dijon Mustard looking gold we saw in the SDCC suit that was displayed

Seems like another thing where concept art is gonna be COMPLETELT DIFFERENT from what we get in the final film:Like Caps ears in his Avengers Costume: ARE THEY THERE OR ARE THEY NOT THERE?!? IMO both color schemes in his suit dont bug me, but i'd go w/ the more traditional gold in the concept art above!
