Kat Dennings Discreetly Talks THOR: THE DARK WORLD

Without saying much at all, a recent interview with Kat Dennings questions the ‘Darcy’ actress of Thor: The Dark World about returning for the Marvel sequel, and what's different this time around.

Kat Dennings couldn't offer much when Metro asked the actress about reprising her role as the comic-relief ‘Darcy’ in the Marvel sequel, Thor: The Dark World. The 2 Broke Girls star did, however, offer brief preconceived thoughts about how the Alan Taylor-directed film will differ from the first.

“I can’t tell you a lot,” Dennings said. “I don’t know exactly what they’re releasing, so I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say. And if I say the wrong thing, I’m going to probably be assassinated,” she joked, referring to the ‘snipers’ that other Marvel actors have made countless mentions of. More earnestly, Dennings continued, “The experience has been fantastic. I think the atmosphere of this movie is going to feel a lot more authentic for fans. I think that will be really cool.”

Not much is known regarding Dennings’ role and how much screen time will be spent on earth in Thor: The Dark World. Though, filming coverage last year revealed prominence of a character, named Ian Boothby played by Jonathan Howard, believed to be Darcy's new boyfriend in the sequel.

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

Ugh......that same "if I say anything they'll kill me" BS. Anyone else tired of hearing them say that? No? Just me? Alright then.
DrStampe17 - 1/4/2013, 12:03 AM
She was the worst part of THOR.
Jollem - 1/4/2013, 12:17 AM
"ditch that whole, stupid donald blake aspect of the character, what with the learning humility and whatnot."

"why?"

"so we can put in a jar jar-type comedic relief character for the lolz."

"brilliant!"

:)

This is totally irrelevant but digging the Thor banner at top.
loki668 - 1/4/2013, 12:59 AM
I'm hoping that she'll rip open her shirt, at some point in the film, and release the secret Norse weapons; Hugen and Booben.

Lord Loki has spoken

Her boobs, man. My god.
JerBear - 1/4/2013, 1:58 AM
She wasn't that bad at all in the first film. I guarantee she'll be much better in this one anyway.
SamWinchester - 1/4/2013, 2:03 AM

Promoman - 1/4/2013, 4:51 AM
She sucks! She ruined every scene she was in. I mean who the hell besides hard up teenage boys want her back? I mean her breasts are nice and all but if I want to see her tits, I'll just google them.

Take her terrible comedy and cram it.
DukeAcureds - 1/4/2013, 5:08 AM
2 Broke Girls is friggin' awesome. Best shitty sitcom in ages. She weren't bad in Daydream Nation, either. Darcy is obviously the voice of the everman, in Thor, so I can see why a lot of people hated her and if it were anyone but Denings, I'd hate them, too. This lady's the shit. Hot, too. That is all.
MiracleMe - 1/4/2013, 5:11 AM
She's a terrible actress but the tittays are better than ok.

What I'd really like to see, since Kat's rack won't be on full display, is Thor costumed something like in the first picture in Jollem's post^^. I like the movies' costumes but that oldworld/oldschool version would be awesome. If they could work that in, flashback or something, I'd be a happy MiracleMe.

Now I think I'm gonna google Kat's pasty funbags...
JatevinM - 1/4/2013, 5:34 AM
I swear the way some people on this site act its like they have never seen boobs.
silverdog - 1/4/2013, 5:37 AM
not a problem with the actress, but HATED the character in the first movie... hope is just a cameo.
TheFirstAvenger97 - 1/4/2013, 6:08 AM

I actually like Kat Dennings. Ok, so she isn't the greatest actress there is but she was far from the worst thing in Thor. That award goes to Natalie Portman who I just think is a bad actress. But Kat has made a couple good and funny films. Not to mention she has the boobs the size of camel humps.
Durango95 - 1/4/2013, 6:41 AM
I actually doont care if shes in it or anything. I just want to stick my face between her boobs and fall asleep. Thats all.
Fogs - 1/4/2013, 6:42 AM

CherryBomb - 1/4/2013, 7:08 AM
I love Kat (:
she's awesome

I hope she has a bigger role.
Ranger14 - 1/4/2013, 7:21 AM
I hope her role in this one is just as discreet as her comments are.
DCMarvelFreshman - 1/4/2013, 7:26 AM
Sorry to those who did not read the headline, or the teaser, and was expecting a lot from Kat.
Edmundo - 1/4/2013, 7:37 AM
@Tea What in the name of Tea and Crumpets is the dutch angle of boobs?
mgeoff88 - 1/4/2013, 7:40 AM
No one should be expecting any of the cast to be dropping big hints. We don't even have a trailer for the movie yet.

I didn't mind Kat Dennings in the first movie. She was supposed to be the comedic relief.

I guess they want to develop her character more in the sequel, if they want to throw her in a relationship.
Godzillafart - 1/4/2013, 7:44 AM
She was great in Thor. Just the right amount of comic relief.

I'm glad they seem to be addressing what was my main complaint: How artificial Asgard felt.
GoILL - 1/4/2013, 7:48 AM
She really didn't bother me in the first movie, good pics CeeJay.
DukeAcureds - 1/4/2013, 7:53 AM
Tea@ If I die, I wanna come back as her firstborn son.
DukeAcureds - 1/4/2013, 7:53 AM
I'd never go hungry.
GUNSMITH - 1/4/2013, 8:16 AM
I USE TO THINK SHE WAS FAT..BUT THEN I REALIZED HER BOOBS WERE SO GINORMOUS THAT THEY EXTENDED SO FAR OUT IT GAVE THE ILLUSION OF HER BEING LARGER..IT HIT ME LIKE A NINJA IN A DARK ALLEY.
dezdigi - 1/4/2013, 8:39 AM
@dickbelt,
you try too hard man!
DukeAcureds - 1/4/2013, 8:39 AM
SteveRogerSon@ ...Nah. Too easy.
DukeAcureds - 1/4/2013, 8:42 AM
Okay dickbelt@, if you're really Grif, what number am I thinking, right now?
yingyangpalms - 1/4/2013, 9:31 AM
Whats with all the hate for her? SLOW HATE DAY?
I think some Virgin Fanboys might be scared of her tits. You sound like 5 year olds swearing you hate girls.

So what are you looking for-A male only website? Male only CBMs?
Its obvious some of you are FOREVER VIRGINS but its your own fault. Hating chicks isnt the answer!!!

third3ye - 1/4/2013, 9:43 AM
I thought she was pretty funny... she certainly had better screen presence than Natalie Portman in that film!
