Along with the year 2012, principal photography for Iron Man 3 was scheduled to end last month in December. Recent videos and photos from Beijing, however, reveal that some filming for the Marvel superhero thriller is still very much underway. Likely for reshoots, Chinese actors Wang Xuequi and Fan Bingbing were both spotted in their surgeon garb, as seen in the teaser trailer, shooting a scene seemingly involving the extremis virus. Check the video, photos & potential story details below.

While Wang Xuequi officially joined the cast last month, Fan Bingbing's inclusion in Iron Man 3 surfaced back in May; when Andy Lau was in talks for the 'Dr. Wu' role. Those reports not only revealed that Bingbing will play Xuequi's wife, but also disclosed alleged story details. [spoiler]

“The film will involve the daughter of Tony Stark’s friend being kidnapped and brought to China. In order to save his friend’s daughter, he flew over from America to China to seek help from Dr. Wu to strengthen his abilities to help fight The Mandarin.”

Marvel Studios’ “Iron Man 3” pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man? Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale with Jon Favreau and Ben Kingsley, “Iron Man 3” is directed by Shane Black from a screenplay by Drew Pearce & Shane Black and is based on Marvel’s iconic Super Hero Iron Man, who first appeared on the pages of “Tales of Suspense” (#39) in 1963 and had his solo comic book debut with “The Invincible Iron Man” (#1) in May of 1968. “Iron Man 3” is presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures & DMG Entertainment. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing & Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Stephen Broussard, Victoria Alonso, Alan Fine, Charles Newirth, Stan Lee & Dan Mintz are executive producers. The film hits May 3, 2013, & is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

Lol @@KaneVonDoom - I was thinking the exact same thing.

I can't wait for a new trailer.

I still have my fingers crossed for there being an armor we haven't seen yet.
MarkV - 1/4/2013, 10:43 AM
There must be MOAR armors!
OptimusPrimeTime - 1/4/2013, 10:54 AM
I'm guessing we see him in the beginning with the armor shown above, the mark VI. Then after extremis, we see the XLVII that he develops to work with the extremis, as seen with the flying glove in the trailer.

For the final fight(s), we see Tony getting beat, like he was at te opening of the trailer, laying on his back. He then goes back for more having assembled an all new armor. Possibly from different pieces of all the armors, as has been rumored to happen.

:)

Brief translation of whats in the video: The women who was the assistant and translator of Dr. Wu say that Tony got hurt real bad. She also said that Tony is talking to Dr. Wu during the operation. He said something along the lines of it doesn't matter whether or not they could fix him because he knows he is in trouble.

straight out of extremis arc.

Villain hiding in China, maybe we might se the the Valley of Spirits
mgeoff88 - 1/4/2013, 10:27 PM
Wow, I wasn't expecting any plot details here. That does sound interesting.

If Tony has to have Extremis in him to take on The Mandarin, I'm guessing his rings aren't just a fashion statement.

I am so excited for this movie BUT why the hell are they still filming? Direcror Shane Black said they should have been done in the fall.... then it went on into december and now January!

Now I'm REALLY worried. Post production is going to be so rushed you just know there's going to be alot of mistakes with the scoring, editing, transitioning etc... I'm afraid the movie is really going to suffer because of it.
TheSensationalSpiderman - 1/5/2013, 2:28 AM
Hopefully it's better than last one.

Coughcough:

Stark actually says it's ok if they can't fix him, he knows his injuries are too severe.
