Miles Teller Dishes On FANTASTIC FOUR Casting Rumor

Miles Teller spoke with MTV during the VMA All Access Experience and the Divergent star claims to have "no idea" about being in contention to play Mr. Fantastic in The Fantastic Four reboot!

Weeks ago, Divergent star Miles Teller was revealed to be among many actors in contention for the Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic role in The Fantastic Four reboot. While director Josh Trank has already made an effort to debunk the credible reports via Twitter, MTV News caught up with Teller himself and inquired about his thoughts on the casting rumor. "Dude, I don't know. I have no idea," Teller said. "I think at some point you just have to play a superhero. That's the world we're living in right now. I mean, they're getting snatched up left and right. I would love to be in 'Fantastic Four.' That would be something I would be very proud to be a part of and happy to do. As far as this whole rumor thing, I don't know." Teller added, "I'm at an age right now where you can start a superhero because I can play him for the next ten years."

Jon Hamm for Mr.Fantastic!

Adrien Brody for Mr Fantastic
My second choice would be Will Smith.

Sue, Reed, and Ben should be played by older actors. The only one who should be young is Johny.
But that's just my opinion.

And get me Dinklage as the Mole Men :)

This movie is "suppose" to start filming next month, and this month is almost over. Yet, we have no official cast members.smh

I do agree with a younger FF. It seems like an new interesting take on the team but Reed should still be in his late twenties if so. He needs that wise, intelligent feel.

OK..so Avengers2, which comes out 2.5 months AFTER the new FF is scheduled (to avoid return of rights to Marvel).FF has No cast, no script and no locations. Marvel has casting done, and A2 is schedule to start shooting in March. They are NOT going to make the cut-off and lose the rights (thank god) just like daredevil.

I wouldn't mind if they have so much trouble casting that they can't start filming in time and the rights revert to Marvel

@MexicanSuperman

what i think ... Fox need a big name for the lead (Mr. Fantastic) to get people interested. Brody is not that big name. But Will Smith ... I wouldn't be surprised if Fox wanna go with Fresh Prince as Reed.

Same thing with Ben Grimm. Those Willis rumors could be true, although i would prefer someone else for the role ...

Anyway it they are smart ... they go with Smith.

(but i would love to see Brody in this movie too. Perhaps as Victor ?)

Also please Fox change The Thing makeup. Or make him CGI instead. I like Rick Baker work (Hellboy, Wolfman) but his Thing costume was just awful.

Amber Heard would make a really great Invisible Woman.
She has the amazing beauty of Sue, but her recent roles have also allowed her to show that she can play a really intelligent, confident and strong woman.

@Martian

I agree, he is overrated when people put him up for every role known to man. I just think he'll make a great Mr. Fantastic, every other suggestion I say "Hell no".

m0th3r - 8/25/2013, 9:57 AM
Im starting to think that you haven't seen any any casting because no decent actors will go near it. We haven't seen a script, but back in March there were some re-writes by the guy who did Dark Shadows and Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter. Not a great sight at ALL. Both were HORRIBLE. The First FF two sucked. And if you go to ANY Comic/Movie news site its about 85/15 on revert the rights vs supporting the film.

@jerryblake The Bruce Willis casting was the only good news with the project, but considering he wanted 4 mil for 4 days of shooting in expendables 3 isn't good. Even Stallone tweeted how greed kills. Probably another road bump in what will be the long road back to marvel.

I still really like the idea of David Tennant as Mr Fantastic, but I doubt it'll happen, even though he's almost a perfect fit for the role (perfect age, looks the part, he's a very good actor given the right script and direction, Doctor Who proves he's adept at sci-fi and can convincingly play a genius), he'd probably be a good box office draw since he seems to be everyone's favourite version of The Doctor from Doctor Who, plus I'm sure he said he'd actually like to play the character.

My third choice for mr. Fantastic would be probably Billy Crudup.

I thought Miles Teller was too young to play Mister Fantastic.
BUT, reading the bio over on Comicvine.

It seems he was about mid-twenties when he got his powers. & so Miles, being 26. Would actually be a pretty good fit age-wise.

I'm not usually one of those guys who bitches and moans and says everything needs to go back to Marvel, but I do think Marvel Studios would be the best place for the Fantastic Four, partly because the characters have such strong ties to other characters in that universe, and partly because I think Fox may struggle with them - they got them very wrong before and they seem to only just be learning how to make the most of the X-Men. I think adding the FF to that may be overkill. Hopefully the movie turns out well though, but I'm not looking forward to it so far.

@jerryblake I don't think Will Smith would be interested in the role, I think he'd want to play someone a bit more 'popular' and/or 'cool'.

@Cherry this may be me typecasting Cumberbatch as a villain now, but I think he'd be a very interesting choice for Doctor Doom - I mean, just imagine that voice of his from behind that metal mask.

I swear, they have to get Doom right this time. He's my favorite villain, and that petty, puerile, clown obsesses with a girl I saw last time wasn't Doom.
