Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

What's up with his [frick]in face!? Nah Jk.... But seriously though people are gonna hate on this movie just like every [frick]ing other comic book movie since the dawn of time. And you know what? Ill be the one to say it I liked Iron Man better than I liked the Avengers. The main reason I loved the Avengers was that I was literally giggling like a kid when I saw the helicarrier fly and Hulk beat the shit out of Loki and Thor and Iron Man fight.
MexicanChinman - 9/3/2013, 6:07 PM
Hopefully he makes Thor his b!/@#.
3DWitchHunt - 9/3/2013, 6:11 PM
Hopefully its better than the first
Cant wait to see Malekith and Kurse
SnapperCarr - 9/3/2013, 6:20 PM
Cool. Though promotion for this movie is putting a bigger emphasis on Loki than Malekith.
DarthDan - 9/3/2013, 6:24 PM
Dope... I think that was at Dragon*Con.. #ATL
JoJo1982 - 9/3/2013, 6:30 PM
Malekith looks badass, I hope he gets his chance to shine, other than let Loki get the spot light.

SimonM7 - 9/3/2013, 6:31 PM
Hiddleston is definitely a big draw for a lot of movie-goers at this point - moreso than they initially realised, it seems, considering the extra scenes being put in following Comic Con - but yeah, it's a bit strange. I think the imagery surrounding Malekith is especially potent, and yet there's extremely little of it used to promote this.

I think the trailers have been really poorly cut (they keep slapping the Sif/Jane confronting Loki scenes together, awkwardly, taking the impact out of both), and decidedly underwhelming, so my secret hope is that they're deliberately Loki-focused to sell the movie and that the movie itself is a much stronger, much more coherent whole than the trailers suggest.
ChanchoMcGrady - 9/3/2013, 6:48 PM
Am I an idiot for not knowing what happens to his face that turns it from this epicness into even more epicness (aka half dark)?
DioFoRio - 9/3/2013, 6:53 PM
yeah batz MCU hasn't had a great villian other than Loki..good but not Hiddleston good. That dudes the shit.
MCUfan1 - 9/3/2013, 6:55 PM
I just hate that they think adding more loki will get more money. Also marvel stop changing the characters costumes unless you explain it. Every character isn't iron man.
StarkAnthony - 9/3/2013, 7:03 PM
so whatever happens to Malekith's face happens in the movie
TheManFromMars - 9/3/2013, 7:10 PM
Excited as fvck.

Winter Soldier is still top of my list tho.
LexHairFight - 9/3/2013, 7:13 PM
Spitting image of the mother-in-law...
92Marvel - 9/3/2013, 7:13 PM
MCUfan1 I like how they changed there costumes

Adding loki will get them more money because women are going crazy over him didn't you see how that #freeloki took the internet by storm today on twitter.
SpectacularJoShFest - 9/3/2013, 7:15 PM
I seriously can't [frick]ing wait for this movie....but in the mean time...high-as-[frick] Picard/Xavier will do.

SageMode - 9/3/2013, 7:32 PM
He looks menacing as hell. I like.
SageMode - 9/3/2013, 7:32 PM
Looks much more intimidating and badass than his jester, flamboyant looking comic book counterpart.
MCUfan1 - 9/3/2013, 7:33 PM
@92Marvel what free loki thing on twitter.
TheManFromMars - 9/3/2013, 7:36 PM

MCUfan1 - 9/3/2013, 8:17 PM

Ramiel - 9/3/2013, 8:22 PM
Loving those gifs, @Marvel92
ALmazing - 9/3/2013, 8:37 PM
I wonder if more Kronans will make an appearance in this movie, Korg perhaps?
maninfinesuit - 9/3/2013, 8:43 PM
Poor Malekith. Fellow pops up here and there to remind us all that he's in the film, but a few seconds later Loki brings the whole thing 'round to himself again.

SageMode - 9/3/2013, 8:53 PM
If this movie gets a good WOM, it'll hit a billion $s. Watch!!
Humby - 9/3/2013, 9:55 PM
I hadn't watched the first movie since before the Avengers came out. After rewatching it (today), I can appreciate it much more. I originally disliked it for its odd conglomeration of set pieces, occasional poor acting, and quirky jokes, but for some reason they didn't bother me this time around. In retrospect, I think the issues that I mentioned were actually rather small issues that I (and many of us) had blown out of proportion. It may not have been what we were hoping for, but it is still an enjoyable movie.

By the looks of it, the sequel is really going to up the game, and I can't wait. With Taylor at the helm, I think this might be the Thor movie we all wanted to see the first time around. And who knows, it may actually help some of us enjoy the first one a bit more.

CAAAANNNNN YOOOUUUUU DIIIIGGGG IIIIITTTTTT!!!!!!
Minghagz - 9/3/2013, 10:50 PM
This movie is going to deliver some bad assery. Bank it.
TheAbomination - 9/3/2013, 11:06 PM
If this movie is anyway near as bad as Iron Man 3, Marvel might be in trouble.
Mrsinister - 9/3/2013, 11:15 PM
Loved the first! Can't wait!!!
MightyZeus - 9/4/2013, 12:04 AM
Awesome.

People love Loki but i love Malekith.

Hopefully this film will be bad ass.
aztecRaingod - 9/4/2013, 12:33 AM
Sage, if even a decent Superman movie cant get close to a billion, a Thor movie doesnt have a chance (Thor IS my main man though)

I predict..

Low end $550 Mill (Thor 1 made $450, this is going to make at least $100 Mill more)

High end 650 (It its a TERRIFIC movie, could make about 750)
SageMode - 9/4/2013, 5:06 AM
AztecRaingod

Well, remember, Thor: The Dark World is coming off the success of The Avengers with an awesome and much better director at the helm than the first one. Like I said, if it gets good WOM, it has more than enough legs to hit a billion $s.
126thst - 9/4/2013, 5:50 AM
I hope they reference Beta Ray Bill in this film some way, some how...
Omarvls - 9/4/2013, 6:41 AM
LEVITIKUZ
OK Thor won't make a billion but can you please
Take a deep breath and relax everything will be okay
Here BatmanSuperman will make 2 billion
Better now?
dannybosa - 9/4/2013, 8:07 AM
I was waiting for RocketRacoon to post a gif from the movie
AvatarIII - 9/4/2013, 8:19 AM
There's no way Thor 2 will do better than IM3 at the box office, but then again IM3 made $1,214,583,156 worldwide, and Thor was the biggest grossing movie in Phase 1, except for IM2, which was a sequel and was massively hyped up before release.
Thor also did a lot well internationally, most of Phase 1 seemed to get around the same domestically and internationally, Avengers got about 50% more internationally than domestically, but IM3 got about double!

I think this is due to a trend of movies doing better outside of the US in general, and since Thor played well outside of the US anyway, I feel like Thor:TDW could get as little as 1/3 or even 1/4 of it's gross domestically, I can easily see it getting 300-400 domestically and 600-700 internationally, making $1bn.
SageMode - 9/4/2013, 8:39 AM
People said The Avengers wasn't gonna make a billion, people said that Man Of Steel was gonna make a billion and Iron Man wasn't.........just saying.
