Since Bryan Singer announced X-Men: Apocalypse via Twitter late last year, there have been several rumors surrounding the Days of Future Past follow-up. However, besides the fact that Apocalypse won't just be an alien in the 2016 adaptation, there has been nothing really concrete; not even the credible reports that Singer is returning to direct. “I’m co-writing the story and I’m producing it,” he told Entertainment Weekly recently. “I’m negotiating to direct. We’re in the process. We’re trying to figure it out, schedules. My desire would be to direct it.” Basically, he's directing.

The most persistent rumor for X-Men: Apocalypse is that it will be set up in the final moments of Days of Future Past, but Bryan Singer suggests that, too, isn't final. “I’m still deciding that,” he says. “Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.” Without revealing any major plot points, Singer does hint that Apocalypse will “address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”

After X-Men: Days of Future Past opens May 23, 2014, X-Men: Apocalypse will hit on May 26, 2016

BANEofExistence - 1/7/2014, 2:24 PM
Cool! So we will get Magneto, Mystique, Toad, Quicksilver, Xavier, Beast

and hopefully Cyclops, Wolverine, Sabretooth, Gambit, Storm, Iceman and Angel?
themidnightking - 1/7/2014, 2:26 PM
So Singer and crew are putting the cart before the horse?
Kurne - 1/7/2014, 2:26 PM
I'm sorry... Whenever he talks I just-- God I want to punch him so hard in the face.
Jollem - 1/7/2014, 2:27 PM

MexicanChinman - 1/7/2014, 2:28 PM
This sounds fricking great. XMDOFP will be the cbm of this year.

@themidnightking, how?
Superior - 1/7/2014, 2:29 PM
I didn't expect a franchise like this to go back to the roots of the mutants. Days of Future Past looks like a good look, and hopefully it and this WILL a good look.
ManCalledSting - 1/7/2014, 2:29 PM
Sounds good to me, Days of Future Past is my most anticipated cbm this year. Spidey 2,
Cap 2, and Robocop look great too.
Superior - 1/7/2014, 2:29 PM
I wonder if they'll go as far back to The Celestials.
Jollem - 1/7/2014, 2:31 PM
tasm 2. then dofp. i'll put winter soldier before gotg, but just because there's no trailer yet
TelaVizion - 1/7/2014, 2:34 PM
I hope X-Force and/or X-Factor is next after Apocalypse completes this prequel trilogy.
themidnightking - 1/7/2014, 2:37 PM
@mexicansuperman I'm still worried about how they can pull off DOFP without it collapsing on itself
MrCBM56 - 1/7/2014, 2:38 PM
[frick] yeah! Sounds good. Can't believe were getting Apocalypse!!
ALegendaryPanda - 1/7/2014, 2:40 PM

ezio619 - 1/7/2014, 2:47 PM

masterhater - 1/7/2014, 2:50 PM
Once again Singer f's everything up.
ALmazing - 1/7/2014, 2:51 PM
How about finishing DOFP and making it the best movie you can first Singer.
Praetorian - 1/7/2014, 2:53 PM
Despite First Class and the Wolverine being totally badass and me being sure that Days of Future Past will blow doors on everyone I wish Marvel had the rights. Sam reason I want the FF rights to be transferred away from FOX in a couple months
NovaCorpsFan - 1/7/2014, 2:56 PM
Berserk

Pretty sure the Celestials are at Marvel Studios. Who knows, they might be one of the grey areas.
DrDoom - 1/7/2014, 2:57 PM
How about you make a good movie this decade before thinking you're all that, Singer?
HurricaneXavier - 1/7/2014, 2:58 PM
Glad to see hes giving all his attention to DOFP... Oh wait.
cipher - 1/7/2014, 2:59 PM

Yeah, I'm listenin' to some old shit. I'm random like that.
Dev7 - 1/7/2014, 3:00 PM
Whats with the ? by Director?
MrCBM56 - 1/7/2014, 3:02 PM
LOL, so starting now, he isn't allowed to talk about the sequel until DOFP is in theaters.

I guess people on a comicbook movie site, DON'T WANT NEWS....
WakeOfMagellen - 1/7/2014, 3:05 PM
I used to respect Singer a lot waaaaaaaay back in the day....
but in recent years he acts more and more like the youngest child in the family that yells, screams, and breaks things just for attention's sake. (shakes head)

Every time Marvel releases news/info....
he does the same thing via the "lazy man's way" of "tweeting" something.... anything.

It just screams out load, "Look at what I did today! I'm relevant! Look at me!!"

All the while he takes himself too seriously...
and not the core material at his disposal all these years. :-/
Sunnyd - 1/7/2014, 3:06 PM
No Bryan what you and Fox are waiting for is the BO take on DOFP if it tanks like your other big budget DR Jack the giant waste of money, you can rest assured they will not be handing you another big budget film.

From what I am hearing so far DOFP budget is near or above the 300 million mark....can someone confirm?
So if that is true DOFP will need no less than 600 million and no x men film has come close to that yet....

If it doesn't sadly it will be likely years before we see another X men film but thankfully X men comic book fans can be relieved you will no longer have the ability to butcher our favorite characters as you see fit and whoever makes the next X men movies can only do a better job.

Oh and before the bashing my post begins spare me the how great X1,X2 or for that matter first class is or the serious tone arguments they are weak sauce arguments at best.
They tried at humor in them and just failed and they are no more serious than any other comic book movies.
Any arguments otherwise are just opinion based arguments.
For fact based arguments the X men franchise has been the least profitable of all the comic book movie franchises.
All the X men moves combined have made less money than just TDK trilogy or the IM trilogy...

Demongod20 - 1/7/2014, 3:08 PM
@ Berserk

Fox can't use The Celestials. Marvel owns them. They will proably pop up in Guardians of the Galaxy. The closes thing to the Celestials that Fox owns is Galactus.
Sunnyd - 1/7/2014, 3:09 PM
Dang it meant SR and forgot to mention the spiderman moves which have also eclipsed the X men movies monetarily wise and yes in hollywood that is all that matters.
MrCBM56 - 1/7/2014, 3:10 PM
WakeOfMagellen

Your comment... WTF.

"but in recent years he acts more and more like the youngest child in the family that yells, screams, and breaks things just for attention's sake. (shakes head)"

What? What are you trying to get at when you say that?

"Every time Marvel releases news/info....
he does the same thing via the "lazy man's way" of "tweeting" something.... anything."

Again, it's funny how YOU, on a comic book movie site that deliverers news... Is mad that you're getting news.

It just screams out load, "Look at what I did today! I'm relevant! Look at me!!...All the while he takes himself too seriously...
and not the core material at his disposal all these years. :-/"

Hmmm...

Omarvls - 1/7/2014, 3:11 PM
This has the potential to own 2016 since

Marvel= Dr Strange
Sony= Spider Man 3
DC/WB= The Flash
Demongod20 - 1/7/2014, 3:11 PM
deamon - 1/7/2014, 3:12 PM
Can't wait for movie.
PS
I don't know who is Kurne, but I want punch him.
AlphaDean - 1/7/2014, 3:12 PM
And let the garbage begin... I cannot wait to see this fiasco play out. Singer and Fox are just scrambling to keep the X-men name... What a bunch of idiots. People stop paying to see Singer and company's Crap fest
MrCBM56 - 1/7/2014, 3:12 PM
If an article was posted right now, with Joss Whedon talking about Avengers 3, half of you would leap in joy. STFU and be happy you're getting news.
Eugene - 1/7/2014, 3:12 PM
Whoa.
CaptainAmerica - 1/7/2014, 3:13 PM
@MrCBM, this is a typical Marvel Zombie bitching about nothing. If 5 movies studios released a trailer on the same day Fox and Bryan Singer would be the only ones taking shit for it.
Demongod20 - 1/7/2014, 3:17 PM
@ MrCBM56 & CaptainAmerica

You may be right to a degree but you can't really deny that Stinger is just trying to piggy back Marvel’s Hype. I mean it’s just so blatant.
Doopie - 1/7/2014, 3:19 PM
if they made Bryan Singer black do you think he'd be more popular?
