"Yep, I enjoyed it very much," Kenneth Branagh told Total Film when they asked if he has seen Thor: The Dark World, the Alan Taylor-directed sequel to his 2011 Thor movie. "I think inevitably one would have headed in a different direction because there's so many variants [and] possibilities across the stories. When we were doing the first one, just literally deciding who was gonna be in, at which worlds and realms we were gonna be in.... It took a long, long time. There was much to sift from, so it's inevitable that the choices were always infinite. I really liked what they did, but I would've probably gone in a different direction." What do you think?

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, while executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Thor: The Dark World hits shelves on Blu-ray/DVD on February 25, 2014.

THE DARK WORLD blow THOR out of the water.
Nomis - 1/23/2014, 7:38 AM
'Thor: Dark World' was miles BETTER than the first movie!

Keep Branagh as FAR AWAY as possible from Comic Book movies!
DrDoom - 1/23/2014, 7:42 AM
I like what he did with the first movie, but the second was a vast improvement for me
BustASpideyPose - 1/23/2014, 7:43 AM
Maybe he would have had a better story, since TDW is the most generic super hero movie I ever seen.
Spidey10 - 1/23/2014, 7:43 AM
Hmmm left Thor 2 to make Jack Ryan...great decision there
aztecRaingod - 1/23/2014, 7:46 AM
Thor2 had more action.

Thor1 was a better all around movie, with a cohesive story, consistent characters and less plot holes.

Thor Dark World Big Hit for Marvel 650 Milliion World Wide after it's released in Japan

Now If Marvel decides to stick to May 6 2016 scheduled date and go head to head with DC/WB BvS I don't think they would release Dr.Strange or Black Panther in that date it would get destroyed I think they might go with

Thor Armageddon

Imagine Thor using his full power wearing his battle helmet taking on Surtur/Enchantress with Beta Ray Bill and Maybe a cameo of Hulk something like a Lord of the Rings Epic

I don't think that movie would get destroyed too bad by BvS

Surtur-Enchantress-Beta Ray Bill
TheSonGoku - 1/23/2014, 7:48 AM
Branagh just isn't the type of director to do a sequel
aztecRaingod - 1/23/2014, 7:48 AM
Omarvls,

Marvel showing Thor at his true power, the way he should be portrayed? Good luck.

That is what we all that we were going to see in Thor2.

50 bucks says those tits would hit the ground if not for that bra.

I thought the 1st Thor had more heart but Thor:TDW kept you on your toes more. Now if they can combine the 2...
BatManiac - 1/23/2014, 7:58 AM
I recently watched The Dark World again and I didn't enjoy it as much as I did when I first watched it.

I like Malekith but he was wrongfully underdeveloped and the movie wasn't long enough. Then there is Darcy and the intern, as well as Selvig running around in his underwear. I didn't mind it the first time but on second viewing, it became annoying. I initially thought it was great but now, I just think its good.

I prefer Thor to be honest.
Minghagz - 1/23/2014, 7:58 AM
lol, someone already beat my comment in a more elaborate manner. oh well
wcwpoet - 1/23/2014, 7:59 AM
I liked Thor but I think I did like The Dark World better. I liked the scope that Dark World took on. Both were great but TDW slightly edges it out.
Godzillafart - 1/23/2014, 7:59 AM
Seems like a cool guy.
wcwpoet - 1/23/2014, 7:59 AM
And mmmm Alison Brie!
JorL5150 - 1/23/2014, 8:02 AM
he's a cool guy.

ATrueHero1987 - 1/23/2014, 8:03 AM
I will say that out of all of the twists(figuratively and literally) in the CBM of 2013, Thor: TDW had the best!
LordMushu - 1/23/2014, 8:03 AM
Is anyone else having huge issues with the website???? I'm using my android phone but its not loading everything correctly.
marvel72 - 1/23/2014, 8:04 AM
thor the dark world (4/5) was better than thor (3/5) from action to the writing.
Godzillafart - 1/23/2014, 8:04 AM
I thought T:TDW was a good show. I give it a solid 4/5 stars. If Marvel keeps making films on this level, I'll be happy.

I agree that Malketh could have been developed more. They guy was just trying to save his people, and we could have empathized with him more.

Then again, how would they have done it? It was the freaking DARK WORLD. Just a black screen an dark elves talking? maybe hear people walking into things and cursing?
BustASpideyPose - 1/23/2014, 8:05 AM
@TrueHero

Man of Steel had the best twist in movie history.
marvel72 - 1/23/2014, 8:07 AM

the site was undergoing maintenance.
LordMushu - 1/23/2014, 8:09 AM
Marvel72 awesome thanks
Godzillafart - 1/23/2014, 8:11 AM
@Omega: "I still felt they dropped the ball on the final battle to an extent".

Really?! Man, I was totally satisfied on that count. The scene when they were falling through dimensions and Mjolnir kept changing directions trying to find Thor was one of the best things I have seen in a CBM ever.
BatManiac - 1/23/2014, 8:12 AM
I hate the fact that Darcy and Ian The Intern got more screen time than Sif and the Warriors Three. Oh and I hated the part where Jane punches Loki and says "That's for New York". That part was so cringe.
Omarvls - 1/23/2014, 8:14 AM
@aztecRaingod

Well if Marvel chooses to stick to May 6 2016 date they are going to have to go BIG and what better way to go big but with Thor's True power if not just move and release Dr.Strange in early April of that year
cipher - 1/23/2014, 8:16 AM

Godzillafart - 1/23/2014, 8:20 AM
@ Omega: I can see that point.
BustASpideyPose - 1/23/2014, 8:21 AM
@Omega

; )

I wish the movie had more scenes like when Loki was using his magic to hide his true emotions, and less scenes with people running around in undies. They also should have written the mother with more depth because I felt nothing when she died. Maybe on my second viewing, it will be better.
Godzillafart - 1/23/2014, 8:21 AM
@Batmaniac: "I hated the part where Jane punches Loki and says "That's for New York". That part was so cringe".

Have to agree with you on that.
MercwithMouth - 1/23/2014, 8:21 AM
Loved the Dark World. Loved Thor. But the Dark World captured Asgard better, had a more jovial Thor/Loki dynamic(which was awesome by the way), and had better action(I still hate that Destroyer fight from Thor).

BatManiac - 1/23/2014, 8:22 AM
I think the final fight was kind of lacking. Yeah, it was cool to see them fight throughout the realms but the fight itself was kind of bland. I certainly didn't find anything epic about Thor and Malekith sliding down The Gherkin or Thor taking to tube. I didn't like the fact that it kept on switching back to Darcy and Ian running away from incompetent Dark Elves either.
Omarvls - 1/23/2014, 8:24 AM
@SotoJuiceMan

BvS will open with 200+ opening weekend for sure
but can you really see Marvel running away from their May openings? I don't I think Marvel will know that whatever they release will get destroyed and they will lose that summer and also 2017 when Justice League opens but they will get back the crown in 2018 when Avengers 3 Infinity Gauntlet is released
DestroyerofHaters - 1/23/2014, 8:24 AM
I thought TDW did a pretty good job at showing Thor's power. The problem was that his villains this time around we're portrayed to equal him.
BustASpideyPose - 1/23/2014, 8:30 AM
@Omega

Yeah, that character had so much potential, should have kept her alive. They did make her badass, and the connection between her and Loki was some of the best stuff in the movie for me.
