SDCC '12: First GODZILLA Teaser Poster And Banner Land!

Hot off the heels of the surprise footage at SDCC, Legendary Pictures have just released the first official Gareth Edwards' Godzilla teaser poster and banner. Hit the jump to check them out!

Toho's "Godzilla" franchise boasts one of the most widely recognized film creatures worldwide, resulting in a series of books, television programs, video games and more than 25 films worldwide. Legendary Pictures intends to approach the film and its characters in the most authentic manner possible.

Producer Brian Rogers expresses the desire to reboot the giant beast's mythos (similar to Batman Begins) but stay true to his roots. Also, expect the 2012 film to feature a monster mash. Yes, Godzilla will be taking on another creature or creatures.

I am SO nervous about this movie.

Die-hard Godzilla fan for life. They already [frick]ed this up once, and I STILL hate hearing friends reference the Emmerich one whilst oblivious to the actual Japanese character.

All in all, I don't think Gareth Edwards was a good choice and I'd honestly prefer to see this in the hands of Toho. Why do we need an americanized version of a Japanese Icon?

ironspider101 dude r u not paying attention to the teaser poster it is in the hands of Toho, Toho told the us that if we wanted to do another Godzilla flick they had to supervise the whole project and make sure they dont do a repeat of the bull!#%* 98 flick. I was in an article along ways back, and trust me i understand too cuz im a huge Godzilla fan since i was a kid and im nervous to but u wouldnt want like Micheal bay to do it cuz then it would suck horribly we just have to wait and c the first trailer before passing judgement
