Cumberbatch is just so perfect and I love him. Though I wont be able to survive him dying again *we all know its gunna happen*. I'm still trying to survive this:

I'm thinking the same thing. I mean, Spock really can't be the ONLY Vulcan that thought of applying themselves to Starfleet. He's not some sort of isolated incident (in this alternate universe, I'm thinking. Because in the TOS, yes that did seem to be the case).

Maybe he's a bad seed. Who knows? Then again, I can't really make out if he is a fellow Vulcan or not. I'm not really seeing the ears in these pics and the hair...maybe he's just another human compiled of human error.

Poor Watson. He really can't win. That very last scene, by the graveyard...Geez, he's a soldier, that's for damn sure.

I can't wail 'til 2013 for BBC Sherlock Series 3. Moffat and Gatiss have ruined me.

I catch myself watching the show by default, you know, when it's seven and I'm too lazy to turn the channel away from FOX, but that laugh track...it's mind numbing.

Gives it way more hilarity credit than is warranted.

I'm not really a Star Trek fan(only watched it with my Dad), and even I thought the first film was great. So I'm excited for this.

@EmpressSkeith Cumberbatch's character isn't a Vulcan. In the third picture where he's walking towards Uhura, you can clearly see he doesn't have pointed ears.

He seems more like a disgraced Star Fleet member out for revenge. Hence, why his shirt doesn't have the SF patch like his fellow member in the second picture.

Yeah...I was beginning to think along those lines too. Rival Starfleet officer, part of a bigger scheme.

Still, he becomes the Biggy by the end of the movie. And having been following Cumberbatch's work as a performer for some time now, he definitely has the acting chops to take on the meaty role of a memorable main villain.

Ah man...would be cool, but, if Abrams were going to reboot any part of the Star Trek TOS franchise, I would hope he'd take from the series and not the films.

Still though, Spock's half-bro... that would be SOOOO AWESOME.

They do have very similar features. In any case, I would totally accept that.

@EmpressSkeith Yah, it does seems that's how it will play out. That's good to hear he is such a great actor, because I only first heard about him from someone on this site. Other than that, I'm not really familiar with him.

If you had to see anything that Cumberbatch has done, I would start with BBC Sherlock. I mean, by all accounts, that was his breakout role, even though he's been doing serious work for years. He's just a fantastic, modern portrayal and he owns the character. (It's on Netflix and Hulu for sure).

If you're talking about Roger Wilco, janitor Roger Wilco from Space Quest, then yes, I know who you're talking about. And you, my friend, are an awesome chap.

I totally see it, though. lol No It's Capt. Steve Rogers aka Captain America! He's in his gov't garbs though.

GARY MITCHELL.

That would be brilliant.

Cumberbatch is one of those cerebral actors who often plays highly intelligent individuals, so for Gary Mitchell, who does gain telepathic/telekinetic powers and a massive amount of intellect, I think it would be unbelievably fitting for Cumberbatch to take on that role.

Yes, we do need to see more of the Star Trek Troika, but I rather like the idea of Uhura taking on a more action-oriented role on the Enterprise.

She often did in TOS. Why not in a reboot film?
