I've got the first two on DVD, so I'm just going to get the Blu Ray trilogy gift set. I'll put it on my Xmas list and make the wife buy it. :)
    Jollem - 9/28/2012, 11:29 AM
sonofabitchin' blu-ray. you could probably put all those features on dvd
    Squish - 9/28/2012, 11:30 AM
Worthless Bluray. You could buy the dark knight for $10 a few months after it came out. Just goes to show that these batman movies are not great on blu ray. Iron man 1 still costs over $20
    Unas - 9/28/2012, 11:31 AM
    Can't wait!

    Epic Fail
    jimpinto24 - 9/28/2012, 11:45 AM
The only thing I wish was on TDKR Blue-Ray special features was audio commentary by Chris Nolan.
    Saintsinnister - 9/28/2012, 11:46 AM
Awww looking back on my TDKR experience I cant help remebering how dissapointed I was that Nolan put about %65 effort into it. The first 2 films were so good. I might just rent it from red box for $1.20...just sad it had to end that way. I thought they might at least make a directors cut that might fill in some plot holes.
    StSharp - 9/28/2012, 11:53 AM
    Getting this for Christmas, YEAH!
    Saintsinnister - 9/28/2012, 11:57 AM

You can tell who the people that don't like popular movies are in the same way you can tell if someone is vegan: They'll mention it at every available opportunity.

Movie of the year for me! I'll be buying on day one!!!

    @SteveRogersSon- lmao
    Stumblin - 9/28/2012, 12:11 PM
This film was good, but it missed a great opportunity. Wasn't much of a Batman movie for me and that ending...ugh. The first two still one of the best along with Burton's take.
    fettastic - 9/28/2012, 12:14 PM
That broken cowl packaging for the UK edition is pretty cool. Can we assume it's the same for the US gift set?

Even though it's striking imagery....it's kind of weird to celebrate and commemorate Batman getting beat to shit. I suppose it's sort of a bookend for Superman's tattered cape on a stick.

I'm curious about this so-called Ultimate Collector's Edition trilogy, but realistically, it will be the exact same thing we already have, but with a so-so book and/or a figure, and some postcards or something equally useless. And it will be $150 or something.

I think I'm done with things like that.
    THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 9/28/2012, 12:18 PM
Not getting this. Getting the TRILOGY!
    Deschain12 - 9/28/2012, 12:21 PM
Sweet. Great movie. Definitely picking this up.
    Dedpool - 9/28/2012, 12:22 PM
I'm just gonna get the Trilogy!
    Benedict - 9/28/2012, 12:26 PM
No deleted scenes like the proto-Bane? Aw :(

    Brady1138 - 9/28/2012, 12:36 PM
I loved the film, but I'm gonna wait for the inevitable trilogy pack. BTW, WORST BOX ART CHOICE...EVER!!!!!

SteveRodgersson: Because hes wearing him out. He starts dodging dirsctky after that.
    Tymminator - 9/28/2012, 12:40 PM
I wonder what the Ultimate trilogy pack will look like?
    Jollem - 9/28/2012, 12:41 PM
@SteveRogersSon - if you were batman right there, and you tried going up against that beast who is in classic tyson mode, you let me know how well that worked out for you when/if you regain consciousness :)
    thewonderer - 9/28/2012, 12:54 PM
I would like to hear an opinion on TDKR from someone who didn't like the avengers
    Saintsinnister - 9/28/2012, 1:02 PM
As fans we are allowed to take our favorite character's movie personally guy. You wait years to see how Nolan will end the best trilogy ever and you get a big let down. Dont prais mediocracy my fellow nerds. I mean people died trying to watch this movie! Like i said, its worth renting and watching again but I wont buy this movie. Special edition or not.
    thewonderer - 9/28/2012, 1:20 PM
    @Captaincool

Oh its still here, people just sneakily throw in an insult to the other film.

I just seem to notice the people who really put TDKR down being the ones who really talk the Avengers up
    Jollem - 9/28/2012, 1:28 PM
@thewonderer - it's not all that uncommon. why, there are even some people who talk down tasm quite frequently :)
    marvel72 - 9/28/2012, 1:41 PM
i'll probably pick this up in a couple of months when its abit cheaper.

    @ thewonderer

"I just seem to notice the people who really put TDKR down being the ones who really talk the Avengers up"

is that because you're just looking for the people that talk up the avengers & put down the dark knight rises.

it happens to be both sides.
    avengers72is24601 - 9/28/2012, 1:53 PM
    i`m buying the dvd trilogy
    AmericanPsychoWolf - 9/28/2012, 2:18 PM
Why can't we just go one article without some moron bringing up The Avengers in a TDKR article and vice versa?

Can't wait to get this, movie of the year for me!
    pud333 - 9/28/2012, 2:35 PM
Pass. I'll wait for the badass Trilogy set. You know it's coming.
    KNIGHT3000 - 9/28/2012, 2:36 PM

    Looking forward to it
    CrimsonReign - 9/28/2012, 2:36 PM

    thejon93rd - 9/28/2012, 4:28 PM
This is the Spider-Man 3 of Batman movies, but thankfully I really enjoyed the third one (for both). The Dark Knight Rises was far better than it's predecessor, still not as great as Batman Begins though (but close), as the plot-holes in this one (compared to The Dark Knight) were a lot more forgiveable; especially with everything on the line for our main character (and a personal story that actually focuses on him more this time around rather than too much on the villains). Catwoman was the best character, one that I underrated from the start. Since we've already seen her in two other Batman films, I didn't see the point in using her again "Why not use Nightwing?" I asked at first, but Anne Hathaway instantly won me over with her charming, but deadly attitude. She gave the best performance in the film by far and I hope she's nominated for an Oscar this year (and wins it) because she deserves it.

This film was really fun, I thought it was way better than The Dark Knight. Looking back on how they marketed this film, making it seem very dark and depressing (like The Dark Knight kinda was), I noticed more about the film and that there are a lot more brighter "pay-off" moments to this one than there were in the last sequel. Moments like when Bruce finally makes it out of the pit, I love the fact that Bane gives him this opportunity to come back because you really get to see how he RISES through it when Bane didn't believe he could (because he himself never did). This film was a lot of fun because of it's Rocky Balboa movie mentality. Whenever Batman arrives on-screen, Bale delivers a fantastic performance throughout (even more so as Bruce Wayne, the first scene he shows up in is a prime example), there's more motivating him this time around, there's more on the line for him and the city then there ever really was in The Dark Knight (which was all about fear as inflicted ever so effectively by The Joker, only it sometimes felt like too much of one thing and not enough of the Batman).

Nothing in this movie really stood out to me as a strong negative like some of the problems I had with The Dark Knight (those terrible scenes on both ferries, Bale's horrible voice and the casting on the mob members like Eric Roberts as Maroni just felt cliched, not to mention Dent's sudden turn which SHOULD HAVE been saved for this movie as it could have used another BETTER villain than the other one they decided to reveal). This one had a forward momentum to it that was really quite enjoyable to watch, and the direction this time around seems a lot more relaxed than it did previously, also the majority of the cast put in excellent performances (minus Matthew Modine as the no-name brand cop, detective, whatever his forgettable occupation was added nothing to the story but pain and suffering).

This film was awesome, but The Avengers owned this year (just watched it twice today).
    ThePowerCosmic - 9/28/2012, 5:07 PM
Wouldnt buy this film on its own, but I will get the trilogy. The cover art for all the batman nolan films has sucked so bad! How can they keep getting it wrong?

TDKR should have been the second film in the series, with a different ending of course, and TDK should have been the finale IMO.
    marvel72 - 9/28/2012, 5:09 PM
    @ thewonderer

they've probably been banned the worst ones for it like others have said.

do you remember the mass cull,i believe you were one but you were aloud to come back.
    Squaremaster - 9/28/2012, 5:13 PM
    Getting this AND the trilogy!

    BenderDickCumPatch - 9/28/2012, 5:42 PM
That looks horrible. TASM is the only blu-ray that treats fans well.

I mean that freaking box art is enough for me not to see it, Avengers pissed me off with no commentary.
    Now this?

    No...
