Im back with another x-men cast because I wasn't satisfied with my first one. Anyways I feel the films would get more justice under Marvel Studios, and could be done right for once, because honestly, [frick] fox! The X-Men universe is massive and has a ton of potential especially with stories like Age of Apocalypse, Days of Future Past, The Astonishing X-Men, but these are things that will never be realized under Fox. Hopefully we'd get a director that understands sci-fi and overall good story-telling. Someone like J.J. Abrams who although sometimes over-rated knows how to make epic movies, Duncan Jones who's sci-fi outing 'Moon' was epic in its own right and very Kubrick-esque, or even Neill Blomkamp who directed District 9 and was set to helm the Halo film which hasn't seemed to have gotten off the ground.
The X-Men
Liam Neeson is Charles Xavier/Professor X
I don't think I need to tell you that Neeson is a frakkin awesome actor and it's great to see he's getting his dues as an actor nowadays. Especially after his epic perfomances as Ra's and Qui-Gon Jinn I know that Liam can be a riveting and more modern Xavier. I guess I should state now that I didn't particularly love that Prof. X and Mags looked older than dirt and like they could die from a single blow in the Singer films, so they're considerably younger here.
Tahmoh Penikett is Scott Summers/Cyclops
Tahmoh is one the greatest under-rated actors working today, and was pretty awesome in BSG, where he proves he has the skills to be a memorable and believable leader as Cyclops, who should most definitely be the leader of the x-men this time around and deserves justice as a character since he was so badly written last time. There also needs to be more of his Martial Arts played into it this time around, I thought it would be cool to see him put his beams to use with shots to pressure points.
Emily Blunt is Jean Grey
Jean was kind of hard to cast, and hard to stay away from Blunt, but in the end no one was more perfect. The role needs a person who can give an amazing performance as Jean who can bring out the best in Scott and then just as amazingly transition to Dark Phoenix, which should be written correctly this time around.
Ian Somerhalder is Warren Worthington III/Angel/Archangel
I feel that Ian can play both side's of Warrens' coin; the playboy, prettyboy side, who's stuck-up and selfish but with a heart he rarely shows, and then really bring out the dark side of his acting through archangel and deliver an amazing performance, plus it helps he looks exactly like i've always pictured Warren.
Kyle Chandler is Hank McCoy/Beast
Now I find Kyle vastly under-rated, he does pretty good on Friday Night Lights, but I thought he really shined on Super 8, in which his performance was one of the highlights of the film to me. He just comes off as very sincere and brilliant as well, which only helps for McCoy, and has the skills to bring out Hank's Tortured side.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Bobby Drake/Iceman
I wasn't the biggest fan of Shawn Ashmore seeing as he's a lackluster actor, and Bobby wasn't written perfectly either, but I can see Joseph pulling off Bobby's comedic timing and making him more of a fun hero this time around, as well as being able to play up the bits where he tries to fully control his powers, seeing as he has the potential to be one of the most powerful mutants ever.
Sanaa Lathan is Ororo Munroe/Storm
Sanaa is another vastly under-rated actress who hasn't enjoyed as much fame as she should. nd Ororo was very much mis-casted in Singers films, Berry couldn't have been more wrong for the role. We need someone who can truly pull off being an African Queen, accent and all, and seeing her in Love and Basketball, im sure Lathan can.
Evangeline Lilly is Anna Marie/Rogue
Another mis-casted charcter, not to say I don't love Paquin, because I do but the southern belle Anna Marie deserves a more polished looking actress, who can be tortured and spontaneous at the same time. Rogue can be really interesting if done right, and should have a love interest in Gambit this time around, too.
Tom Hardy is Logan Howlett/Wolverine
So one of my main beefs with Hugh was his height/build, I actually believe wolvie should be short and beefy. Hugh isn't a bad actor either, but I found his performance off because of writing mostly. Wolvie needs to gritty and nasty, very much an asshole, and pretty muh not looking out for anyone but himself, and there needs to be martial arts applied to the claws, as well as balls to the wall berserker moments. Tom is just an amazing actor who steals all the scenes he's in, and standing at 5'9 and being able to get huge, he's the perfect candidate for Logan.
Timothy Olyphant is Logan Howlett/Wolverine
So even though I love Hardy for Logan, I thought i'd offer up another choice that i've never seen anyone put up. Now the reasoning for this choice stems mostly from his recent work most notably, Justifed, where Olyphant plays a character very much reminiscent to a young Clint Eastwood, and in fact even voiced Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name in Rango, which was pretty spot on. I think Olyphant's tough-as-nails demeanor could give us the closest possible portrayal to what coulda-shoulda been Clint Eastwood as Wolvie. If he got really big, with his 5'11 stature i'd give him a shot.
Joseph Fiennes is Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler
While Alan Cummings was great as Wagner, i'd still have loved to see the swashbuckling side of Kurt which of course wasn't done. However this is something that I fell Fiennes could pull of very naturally and combined with his special look and dramatic acting skill could be one very perfect Kurt.
Armie Hammer is Piotr Rasputin/Colossus
Armie is still very up-and-comer, but I feel he did great in The Social Network, especially when factoring in he played both brothers, as well as having done good on his time on Reaper. He also has the absolutely perfect look and standing at 6'5 and built, Physique, so as long as he puts on the russian accent I find him perfect.
Rooney Mara is Kitty Pride
I feel that Rooney shined in her short time on the Social Network, as well as in the otherwise crappy NOES remake, with the right attitude to be both sweet, as well as the more developed and mature, independent girl. Her relationship with Piotr should be played up also.
Charlize Theron is Emma Frost
I've heard alot of suggestions for Emma and none of them ever really clicked. Some were too young, some too mature, but I feel it should definitely be a beauty of a woman and somewhat mature, as well as being able to pull of the 'queen' attitude and manipulations. Charlize fits all of thes fields like a glove and i feell is the best person for the job.
Scott Porter is Alex Summers/Havok
I really like Porter on Friday Night Lights, and from there it just clicked that the dude looks exactly like Alex, so much so it's pretty crazy. This time around he should definitely be Cykes younger brother and lead X-Factor and/or Star-Jammers or vice-versa.
Tyler Labine (voice) and Scott Adkins (body) are Wade Wilson/Deadpool
Wade's one of my favorite characters ever and while he's not exactly a member of the x-men he's very much related to them. Anyways I haven't been able to find an absolutely perfect choice for the role, so I branched out in my choices. Labine is one of the most hilarious people alive, and comes off naturally so and come pull of being an asshole and freakin' crazy, and I find him to be perfect to voice. Adkins on the other is a freakin aawesme Martial Artist who has enough skills to be the body of Wilson, so we're pulling a Darth Vader here.
Gaspard Ulliel is Remy LeBeau/Gambit
Gambit's another one of my fave's, he can pretty awesome if done right, which I didn't find to be so in Borigins. He needs an actor that is so charasmatic he can sell you a dead cat, but still have a deadly air to him. Now only can Gaspard pull this off, he looks exactly like Remy and with the Cajun accent would be an awesome Gambit.
Damian Lewis is Sean Cassidy/Banshee
Damian is just under-rated, period. He had an impeccable american accent in Band of Brothers despite being english and was great on the series, too. It only helps the guy's a natural Ginger.
Maggie Q is Elizabeth Braddock/Psylocke
I feel that this is something that just needs to happen, because Maggie owns the Asian Psylocke. Aside from the perfect amount of hot, shes has knowledge of Martial Arts, and has the skills to become this great fighter, and come on, psionic blades are awesome.
Adam Baldwin is Nathan Summers/Cable
Adams one of my all time favorite actors, and hasn't received his due as a actor, imo. His overall acting style just screams cable and would be awesome should he ever be in a Deadpool spin-off. Plus standing at 6'5 and being well-built gets him one step closer to being Nathan, still even then i'd suggest a combo of boots, lifts, and overall gear to make him appear 6'8.
Henry Simmons is Bishop
Henry's another very under-rated dude, very much like Adam, and has a strong screen presence needed for Bishop. Plus the dude's huge at 6'4 and built, id still suggest a combination of boots, lifts, and overall gear like Adam to make him look 6'6.
Villains
Christoph Waltz is Erik Lensherr/Magneto
This just came to me, slightly after I put up the first X-cast I did, I think, and it never get out of my head. Christoph is an amazing actor to watch on-screen, and played a vicious character on-screen already, Hans Landa in Inglorious Basterds, who I found similar to Erik in many ways, Well-spoken, cold, ruthless, determinated, and he just oozes a perfect calm at being such an evil person, these are all the traits that can make for a perfect Mags.
Tricia Helfer is Mystique
You may know Tricia from BSG, where she exudes the traits of a mystique-like character, she feels dangerous, extremely sexy and like she could kick your ass. I'd also like if they gave Mystique more of a speaking role this time around, because from what I remember she didn't do much talking before.
James Callis is Jason Wyngard/Mastermind
Aside from having the perfect weasely bastard look, the guy has the right attitude too, and while I dislike the character of Mastermind in general, I feel he can actually make the character pretty cool.
Matt Bomer is Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver
Matt has the right acting style for Pietro who goes around as the bad boy type, very stuck-up and such, and would be good for when he turns into a good apple to fight with the Avengers. Plus he has a very distinct look that works perfectly for Quicksilver.
Jodi Lyn O'Keefe is Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch
I find Jodi a good match to be Bomer's twin as well as the right overall looks, period. Plus she has the right dangerous yet seductive feel I feel Wanda has, and I think would have great chemistry with Bomer, and Christoph for when that turns up.
Silas Weir Mitchell is Toad
I know Silas mostly from his work on Prison Break, where he played a lsightly similar character to Toad. A smarmy, slimy bastard type that would work great along with his distinct weird look to make a pretty cool Toad, who I feel is the type that can be on your team but you don't fully trust, and who in fact would probably stab you in the back for a better deal.
Kevin Durand is Victor Creed/Sabretooth
Although he was in Borigins, I don't think it really matters, and honestly he was kinda wasted there as Blob. It'd be better to have the 6'7 man play a cold and vicious killer we know Victor is, which was something we didn't see in Singers films, plus his huge stature would compliment either Hardy's or Olyphant's shortness greatly.
Jamie Bell is Pyro
Pyro can be a cool character if done right, and I actually kinda liked his growing resentment in X2, however i'd love to see a full-out psycho pyromaniac let loose with tons of hate, and Jamie would be one crazy mother[frick]er to dish that out, the dude has undeniable presence and skills. I also love fire, so naturally I love Pyro, and some epic fire scenes would be awesome for me.
Cillian Murphy is Avalanche
I always found Avalnche a kinda lackluster dude, and I think someone like Cilian could do awesome in the role and actually make him memorable. I think his wave vibration powers could make for some really great scenes, and Cilians cold voice and acting combined with his overall right looks could bring the terrorist to life and make him awesome
John DiMaggio (voice) and Nathan Jones (body) are Cain Marko/Juggernaut
Just like my deadpool picks I sought out of the box for Cain. The role could be played by Jones alone, but the thought of it makes it feel incomplete, and he's just not a great actor, however standing at his billed 7'1 combined (like Cable and Bishop) with boots, lifts, and gear could make him look 8 feet tall which is perfect for Juggs's body. For his however I found voice actor DiMaggio perfect, who's voiced Marcus Fenix in the GOW games and Bender in Futurama, plus a ton of other roles, but just being able to transition from those makes him right for me.
Kevin Michael Richardson (voice) and Brian Steele (body) are Fred Dukes/Blob
Once again a double role. Brian Steele stands at 6'7 and is awesome at mastering creatures and freaks movements, which he would work great for Blob, who I think would be better if they made him a nasty and profane character. Kevin is also an awesome voice actor who fits for this nasty Blob, and has done many voices now, like Tatarus in Halo 2 to Martian Manhunter (which is awesome) in Young Justice.
Ted Levine is Bolivar Trask
Ted is probably best known for Buffalo Bill which he was absolutely nasty as. He's another vastly under-rated actor who turns into the roles he plays, and I feel he could play the discriminant Trask, with a crazy tinge to him and very hateable.
Mads Mikkelsen is Nathaniel Essex/Mr. Sinister
I feel that Mads would excel at playing Sinister, because im sure he can pull of that right amount of dementedness and be beliveable in going to any length to further himself, no matter who or what stands in the way. From Casino Royale alone, you'd see he's an awesome actor and combined with his demented look would make one sinister Nathaniel.
Christopher Judge is En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse
Judge is one of those actors who just stands out, I feel he acts for the trade, and is a great actor at that. He's one of the very few people who could pull f the ruthless Apocalypse with ease and completely own it. He has the absolutely perfect look and build too, even though it's not too necessary, however I myself love practical effects, and if the combo of makeup and camera tricks work i'd be all for it over cgi any day.
