The Cinematical website is saying that in additional to Anton Yelchin being up for the role of Harry Osborn (as previously mentioned on CBM), actress Elena Satine is now up for the role of Mary Jane Watson. Here's an excerpt from the website:

"Rumors are now circulating, by way of The Playlist, that Anton Yelchin might take over the role of Harry Osborn from James Franco while the also USSR-born singer/model/actress Elena Satine (pictured) is apparently campaigning big time -- and has already auditioned -- for the part of Mary Jane."

Does this mean we'll be seeing Satine taking over the role previously made famous by Kirsten Dunst? Could be, but ultimately, time - and Sony - will tell.

Wow this really makes me happy! Go TANKGIRL! Haha Elena would be a fantastic MJ...she is a Marvel comix lover and would really love to play her! I believe the one we've been waiting to see portray Ms. Watson on the silver screen.

blockhead...sure she is Russian, but she did grow up in Queens, NY (like MJ). She also sings and models (which MJ does) AND she is a self proclaimed "comic book nerd"...pretty sure they're not finding anyone more perfect. I'm so happy about this!!!!!!!

I wouldn't call her a "model" she did SOME modeling but she is actually a classically trained actress... she went to a buncha fancy drama schools(in NYC, Moscow and London) and got her degree in acting. Pretty impressive, considering most pretty girls in this business just get by on their looks alone. She also has a background in theater and has been on Broadway. She is a very accomplished young lady.

TankGirl, I've loved Elena since Cold Case, I'm currently working on launching a fansite for her. She has been very kind, she responds to fanmail and even mailed me an autographed photo. She is a phenomenal actress. There is no actress her age who even comes close as far as acting talent goes. This girl will win Oscars in her career Spider-Man or not. Mark my words ya'll!!!
