If you don't know, Cowboy Bebop is an awesome and timeless anime (Naruto is a pile of crap compared to this). Anyway, it takes place in the year 2071 where travel through the solar system has been made possible through the use of space gates. Due to the influence interplanetary crime syndicates over the government and the corruption of the ISSP (Inter-Solar System Police), bounty hunters (nicknamed "cowboys") are issued to deal fugitives, terrorists, and other criminals. The series follows a team of bounty hunters aboard the Bebop: Spike, Jet, Faye, Edward, and Ein the Corgi.

I decided to make this cast since nobody has ever made one on this sight, and I wanted to be the first to do so. The development of the live-action Cowboy Bebop seems to be dead (and I am not very fond of Keanu Reeves playing Spike). For the director, I chose Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class). I'm a big fan of his work (especially after seeing X-Men: First Class) and think he's the only person that's fit to adapt this.

Anyway, here's the cast:

Heroes:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Spike Spiegel: A bounty hunter who is a former member of the Red Dragon Crime Syndicate. He is skilled with firearms (notably with his Jericho 941 handgun) and hand-to-hand combat, his martial arts style being Jeet Kune Do. Despite his carefree outward appearance, he is deeply troubled with his past, notably his time in the Syndicate and a romance with a mysterious woman named Julia.

Reason for Casting: Levitt has become quite a popular choice for Spike and I decided "What the hell, I'll go with him". But seriously, Levitt is a great actor (I liked his performances in 500 Days of Summer and ). Plus, he had the same hair style as Spike in Brick.

Bryan Cranston as Jet Black: A Former ISSP officer and owner of the Bebop. He quit the ISSP after being fed up with its corruption and red tape and turned to bounty hunting to pursue justice. He had his left arm lost and replaced it with a cybernetic one as a reminder of what happened when he rushed into trouble without looking first.

Reason for Casting: I have seen a variety of different names that have popped up for the role of Jet. I think Cranston is best suited for this role after seeing his work on Breaking Bad.

Milla Jovovich as Faye Valentine: A novice bounty hunter with a gambling addiction. Although she abondons the crew several times, her attachment to them always brings her back. Her gambling and cheating skills are unrivaled by all with the exception of Spike.

Reason for Casting: She's as played a tough-as-nails woman before in the Resident Evil films. She also gave a good performance in Stone.

Chloe Moretz as Edward: A young eccentric computer genius and master hacker. Despite her name and androgynous appearance, she is actually a girl. She has given herself the name of "Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivruskii IV".

Reason for Casting: Moretz is a very versatile actress and would be great as Edward. I also took in the fact that she has worked with Vaughn before in Kick-Ass

Mélanie Laurent as Julia: A mysterious woman from Spike's past whom he loved. She is the reason why Spike left the Syndicate, which is punishable by death.

Reason for Casting: Laurent has the dead on appearance for Julia and gave great performances in Inglorious Basterds and Begginers.

Villains:

Charlie Hunnam as Vicious: The grim and lethal enforcer for the Red Dragon Syndicate and Spike's former friend (now sworn nemesis). He is noted by his embittered look, the crow-like bird on his shoulder, and his preferred weapon of the katana.

Reason for Casting: I casted Hunnam after seeing him in Cold Mountain and Children of Men.

Other:

Wilmer Valderrama and Kristen Bell as Punch and Judy: The hosts of Big Shots, a show which provides various information on bounty heads, but is often unreliable (and the crew of the Bebop get their information from close contacts. Punch talks in a mix of a southern drawl and Mexican accent (which is faked) while Judy acts like a stereotypical dumb blonde, wearing an open bolero jacket with nothing underneath.

Reason for Casting: These two are the only ones I want in the roles. They are mainly provided for comic relief, so please don't criticize too harshly.

If a Cowboy Bebop movie is actually made, they better use this casting cause it is just perfect.

I don't like Milla Jovich for Faye, but I can't think of anyone to play her, she is the most attractive anime character ever made I believe. I saw JGL for Spike and I wasn't a fan of it, but then I thought about it for a minute and I really like that casting.

@BigK1337 Thanks. I really hope they use this cast.

@HailToTheKingBaby Thank you. Jovovich was the only person that I could think of. And aren't you going to make any new fancasts or are you fresh out of ideas?

@TheGODDAMNSUPERGUY

Dude, just because these characters are made by Asians DOES NOT make them Asians. Second, the lighting on the Punch and Judy pic is pretty bad and the character is hispanic.

Im not all for Milla.. Thats it, everything else is dope.
Joslezio85 - 9/11/2011, 6:06 PM
I love all of of this, aside from Jovovich and Cranston. There both awesome actors, but I don't think the roles are right for them. Faye, in my opinion should be someone younger, like Mary elizabeth Winstead or someone of that Caliber, preferably not as well known as Milla. For some reason, I really like Woody Harrelson for the role of Jet Black. Pretty good cast here though.

Animes rarely translate well in live action.
LEEE777 - 9/12/2011, 3:21 AM
BLUESKY @ I absolutely love this casting, ty an well done dude!

Big thumbs!
Hellsing - 9/12/2011, 5:51 AM
Umm the cast is spot on besides Cranston, who is a bad ass actor but he's been miscast in that role. JGL and the rest are great although, I think a younger actress should play Faye but that's just my opinion. And yes the anime's that have been adapted to live action haven't worked because the wrongs have been adapated, Bebop, Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist and Trinity Blood (there's probably a couple of others out there) that can be translated to the big screen much more easily then something like Naruto. And the whole race thing shouldn't be issue with these anime's.
MrBlueSky - 9/12/2011, 7:17 AM
@Rh0ki Thanks!! I'm glad you like the rest.

@Joslezio85 Woody Harrelson seems like a big miscast as Jet, but Mary Elizabeth Winstead would make an awesome Faye!

@cable23 It's either that or the writers butcher the source material.

@LEEE777 Thanks man!! It's been a long time since you've commented on my casts.

@Nephillim Guy Ritchie seems like a good choice for director (he could make one if he doesn't do Lobo).

@Hellsing Bebop could be easily translated on screen. And people complaining about the race issue annoy the hell out of me.
Hellsing - 9/12/2011, 7:24 AM
@MrBlueSky lol dude I remember seeing comments on Fullmetal Alchemist cast complaining about race, With names like Edward Elric its pretty [frick]ing obvious that the characters are not Asian, but some retards just don't understand that. Oh and I think if Ledger was alive he would have been a pretty bad ass choice for Spike too.
MrBlueSky - 9/12/2011, 7:29 AM
@Hellsing Ledger could work for either Spike or Vicious if you ask me.
Hellsing - 9/12/2011, 8:19 AM
you should do more anime/manga fan casts
Joslezio85 - 9/12/2011, 10:11 AM
@MrBlueSky. lol. That's why this is your fan cast. I think he would own though. I agree with Hellsing above. You should totally do more. I've considered doing an anime cast. But, I'm not brave enough to venture away from comics. You should do a Full Metal Alchemist cast or a Trigun. Those three were the only anime I was really ever into so I'm rather interested to see what you'd do...
AlexDeLarge87 - 9/12/2011, 10:32 AM
James Franco or Ryan Gosling would be cool Spike too.

Scarlett Johansson or Gemma Arterton as Faye
AlexDeLarge87 - 9/12/2011, 10:33 AM
Hell yeah! Mary Elizabeth Winstead would be perfect Faye!
AlexDeLarge87 - 9/12/2011, 10:39 AM
Stephen Lang as Jet Black
MrBlueSky - 9/12/2011, 10:43 AM
@Hellsing & Joslezio85 I think I will do another anime cast. I just have to decide which one to do.

@AlexDeLarge87 Franco & Gosling seem like good choices. I'm not sure about Johansson or Arterton, but Lang would make a kickass Jet Black.
croniccris - 9/12/2011, 11:04 PM
yeah mary for faye
AutobotCommander84 - 9/18/2011, 8:29 AM
I'm not sure about Bryan Cranston or Mila Jovoich but still a good cast.
