SUPERHEROSTUFF: TDKR Causes A Merchandising Frenzy

Everyone is talking about The Dark Knight Rises, the premier, and the gigantic merchandising campaigns that go along with a gigantic summer blockbuster. It's time to take a look at a few products that people have completely overlooked. Oh, we also have a surprise guest to the line up...

What type of stuff can we possibly show you that you haven't seen while waiting for the Dark Knight to rise? Well, we have truckloads of new stuff that has nothing to do with the Dark Knight; and, boat loads that does.

Yeah, I know...Another add campaign from SuperHeroStuff. Well, just 'cause showing you a bunch of awesome SuperHeroStuff isn't enough for your particular tastes, we will extend our hand in apology. Here, take our hand and, please, take this discount plus a free button with any order you place.

So, whether you think you've seen it all we are still going to show you some Dark Knight Rises stuff that we think is just plain cool. Use that nice discount and get yourself something, would ya?!

Made from 100% Cotton, these t-shirts feature images of Catwoman, the Dark Knight, and Bane as portrayed by Anne Hathaway, Christian Bale, and Tom Hardy. These images are all based on the third Batman movie conjured by director Christopher Nolan......The Dark Knight Rises!

That's right, it's time for yet another live action iteration of Catwoman to....uh...pounce upon the big screen and for Bane to pounce on Batman and for Batman to pounce on Catwoman (so to speak).

Let's take a look at some more new stuff that we have to offer. Don't forget to keep an eye out for the special guests that have joined today's line up. Don't forget to put it back in when your done. What?!...back in? Your eye, silly.

Hmmm, do you remember that song from Sesame Street? Which one of these things is not like the other? Something about the sampling above doesn't seem to go with the others. I guess this just shows you that we truely do have the largest collection of SuperHeroHeroStuff on the internet.

AsianVersionOfET - 7/18/2012, 12:18 PM
Ahhh who's the douchebag who took first?!
DanteSparda - 7/18/2012, 12:28 PM
WTF??

The merchandise is cool, even the bat socks, but this is the first time I look at that concept art in the Catwoman shirt and it looks exactly like the concept art of Trish in Marvel VS Capcom 3:

And this isn't the first time they copy a pose for TDKR Catwoman:

OR

The Halle Berry Catwoman movie was released before the Secret War comic, but Hathaway's hair looks identical of that of Black Widow.

I have nothing against the movie or Nolan or whatever, but seriously what's wrong with the guy who decided to copy this poses for Catwoman?? Specially when the poses can be easely recognized by comic book fans.
SuperHeroStuff - 7/18/2012, 12:43 PM
Unfortunately for us we didn't do the posing of Anne Hathaway. Astute observations, though.
DanteSparda - 7/18/2012, 12:49 PM
@Nomis

Only here and in the lastest TDKR one, could you imagine someone posting this in every TDKR thread? That would be insane there are like 10000 TDKR articles.
Ceejay - 7/18/2012, 1:00 PM
Hardly a big deal, poses get repeated all the time and have been since the age of the pin-up in the 40's and 50's.
HRDWYR - 7/18/2012, 1:15 PM
Who cares? Om gosh, hollywood is duplicating something, no! 'Sides is hot... enjoy it. I'm sure it coulda ben worse....just my two cents, don't go postal.

Dante Sparda = DoubleD? Same obsessive behaviour!
worldbreaker - 7/18/2012, 1:17 PM
doing halle berry's catwoman pose kind of makes sense in a way. still interesting when pointed out
worldbreaker - 7/18/2012, 1:18 PM
its just a certain attention to detail. some people dont care, some people find it interesting
DanteSparda - 7/18/2012, 1:31 PM
@SuperHeroStuff & @worldbreaker

Thanks, and yes I find it very interesting, also I find hilarious that people thinks I posted this as if it was a big deal or a big complaint, these are the kind of things I love to see in funny facts articles and that kind of shit, sadly most people here are always defensive and I can't blame them, there are a lot of haters around.
REDSTORM - 7/18/2012, 5:09 PM
Dante, this isn't the first time an artist uses previous work as a base. Isn't there a comic book artist that's been known for tracing porn?
Grimfoe - 7/18/2012, 6:22 PM
@Redstorm. I'm not sure, but I'd be interested in the name of THAT comic!
Nightmare7 - 7/18/2012, 9:32 PM
@Redstorm,who is that artist?;p
DanteSparda - 7/19/2012, 7:23 AM
@REDSTORM

Actually there are a lot of artist that trace from porn and celebrities, but I think you're refering to Greg Land who have such reputation for his representation of Pixie in this cover of Uncanny X-Men:

Also I know it's not the first time nor the last that an artist uses something that already exists for his work, but now that you mention it I think it's the first time I saw someone precicely trace an exisiting pose for a movie art.
