According to MovieHole.net, the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel has new plot details and casting news before it starts filming.

All of the core cast members that made the original Kick-Ass great are back so you can expect to see Aaron Johnson, Chloe Mortez and Christopher Mintz-Plasse back in action. They also confirm that the studio is in talks for Garrett M. Brown to reprise his role as Dave's father in the film and it is said that this time around he will have much more to do in the Kick-Ass sequel. The studio is also starting auditions for the role of Uncle Ralph -- the criminal guardian of Chris A.K.A Red Mist which is expected to be filled by an actor similar to Mark Strong so keep a look out for casting news on that.

The story will be similar to Superman 2 where someone finds out about the heroes' identities -- mostly Dave and Mindy. Dave's identity as "Kick-Ass" is only revealed to one important person and it is said to have repercussions. Hit-Girl's identity will be known by the general public and it gets her in to the awkward stage of society as it will cause a lot of people to make fun of her behind her back. Her problems cause her to be nicknamed "Captain Muffin-Muncher". However -- the worst of her problems will come from the highest of the anarchy of stuck-up girls -- Brooke who is said the be the usual prissy stuck-up bitch who has a gang of followers that she can control (think Mean Girls?) who also manages to gain control of Lois (who will ultimately form a bond with Mindy). Eventually, Hit-Girl will get revenge against the band of girls in a spectacular fashion that will involve gadgetry, projectile vomiting and a lot of begging. A lot of cheering in the cinema audience is to be expected from these scenes.

More Kick-Ass 2 details are expected to emerge in the next few weeks.

Viltrumite - 6/23/2012, 9:36 PM
@BlackCondor
Apparently the first thirty minutes of the movie are based on the upcoming Hit-Girl mini-series, so the stuff with her and the girls are probably derived from that.
But I loved the first movie (shining moment of my freshman year), and I couldn't be more excited for this one.
TheAmaazingSpiderman - 6/23/2012, 9:37 PM
Just hurry and make this movie already the actors aren't getting any younger
lunesta - 6/23/2012, 9:59 PM

Zarog - 6/23/2012, 10:05 PM
My only question: Is Lyndsy Fonseca gonna be nude in this?
DrDoom - 6/23/2012, 10:12 PM
Captain Muffin-Muncher?

Brilliant.
Bigred20 - 6/23/2012, 10:12 PM
Why in their right mind would they make fun of her?
She's like in 6th grade and has killed 50 plus people
BattlinMurdock - 6/23/2012, 10:13 PM
If there's no Lyndsey Fonseca and Nic Cage, I won't be showing up.
95 - 6/23/2012, 10:15 PM
I still need to see the first one.
marvelcomix - 6/23/2012, 10:19 PM
anything Kick-Ass related I can't wait for.
hope420 - 6/23/2012, 10:20 PM
So Hit Girl is gonna take on some preppy bullies this time? Seems like kind of a waste for her skills so I hope it's a brutal funny scene since we all know she can't kill her fellow students for bullying her. Anyways I loved the comic and the movie was fun so I can't wait to see where they go now!
UncleJimmy - 6/23/2012, 10:37 PM
the jet pack addition in the first film was really shitty.
now they are going all out to ruin the sequel, which was a cliffhanger ending leading to an unreleased third book.
[frick] this movie.
Rodney21a - 6/23/2012, 10:43 PM
This is a load of shit. Its gonna be all hollywooded up they are are already taking liberties with the characters and starting to "re imagine" things.. this gonna be terrible...
sKeemAn - 6/23/2012, 10:43 PM
Is Nic Cage coming back? his scream in the last one was hilarious....
Tainted87 - 6/23/2012, 10:46 PM
Is it bad that I liked the movie a hell of a lot more than the comic?
longbowhunter - 6/23/2012, 10:55 PM
I didnt care much for Kick-Ass 2. This is one instance where I'd like to see the movie deviate from the comic.
supermarioworldE - 6/23/2012, 11:10 PM
Man that plot sounds terrible. I didn't care much for the first film either but at least it sounded good in theory.
RobertGarlen - 6/23/2012, 11:29 PM
how about Ralph Fiennes as Uncle Ralph?
DrRockso - 6/24/2012, 12:54 AM
Jeffry dean Morgan as uncle ralph
Jolt17 - 6/24/2012, 1:49 AM
So...can anyone tell me the plot outline of the Kick-Ass 2 comic book? Never heard much about it. Something similar as written above?
UncleJimmy - 6/24/2012, 2:14 AM
@jolt17
to make a long story short, they are nothing alike at all.
Soze - 6/24/2012, 3:25 AM
Loved the first movie, great fun. I've never read the comics so not too bothered about any potential changes. I may pick them up and have a look. Not sure why people are asking for Nic Cage to come back, his character died, would be stupid to have him in anything other than a flash back scene or something.
White - 6/24/2012, 3:55 AM
Yeah. This is Hit-Girl plot (from Hit-Girl comic) and it's 30 minutes long and rest of the movie will be Kick-Ass 2 plot.
126thst - 6/24/2012, 4:28 AM
Sounds terrible
thetrojan - 6/24/2012, 5:47 AM
THIS MOVIE WILL KICK ASS ALL OVER AGAIN!
marvel72 - 6/24/2012, 6:28 AM
should be like the kick ass 2 comic, even though most of it would of been left out on the cutting room floor.

but a toned down version would of worked,on the strength of the first film i'll give this one a chance.
ABLEE337 - 6/24/2012, 6:40 AM
?
Jolt17 - 6/24/2012, 7:23 AM
Chap3l: ...I see.

That's it, the thing that I hate the most. What's so difficult in adapting directly from the books? Even if it hasn't finished yet, you can always make the ending up - like what happened with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

It will be better if the replacement story is a great one, but that...no. I'll still need to see more before I can judge, though, but this isn't a good first impression.
sKeemAn - 6/24/2012, 7:53 AM
@Soze Cmon now its a comic book, everybody comes back from the dead
MercWitaMouth88 - 6/24/2012, 8:25 AM
So it has nothing to do with Kick Ass 2 the book. Sweet. Not gonna give 2 s**ts about this movie now.
TrueRedBlue - 6/24/2012, 8:49 AM
Having a group making fun of Hit Girl? BIG MISTAKE..
MakioGrant - 6/24/2012, 8:51 AM
Lyndsey Fonseca or GTFO !!!!
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 6/24/2012, 10:06 AM
Have to say the first movie had some really good scenes in it and was enjoyable enough for one maybe two viewings but I found it a little "flat" overall and think its highly overrated. What I've read here sounds pretty terrible.

You find out a girl at your school is responsible for killing half the mob in one night (the other half she killed over the previous day or so) and you take the piss? Seriously?
KaneVonDoom - 6/24/2012, 10:38 AM
"Highest of the Anarchy..." I wonder if these people even know the slightest bit about Anarchy or what it means. It is definitely not synonymous with chaos.

Either way, I'm stoked for Kick-Ass 2.
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/24/2012, 11:02 AM
School girls making fun of Mindy sounds pretty stupid.
I dont judge yet but i hope they loose those scenes or make it just one little fun scene.
I truelly hate those kind of stupid girls.

Ian McShane would be great Uncle Ralph. Would be great to see him playing the vicious and bad-tempered big brother of Mark Strong´s character.
Think about Deadwood´s Al Swearengen and you know he can do it.
Jolt17 - 6/24/2012, 12:39 PM
Ralph Fiennes as Uncle Ralph is actually a pretty good idea, IMO. (No, not because of the name.) Well, depending if this "Uncle" is literally Frank's brother thus Chris' uncle, though; but what I'm saying is if it's the case, Fiennes can pass as Mark Strong's brother, look-wise. As an antagonist, sure we know Fiennes is more than capable.

I love the first Kick-Ass movie, and I love the cast. Despite my doubt, I really wish this sequel will be as great as its predecessor - if not better, but...I don't think so. Oh, and flashbacks/illusions (from Hit-Girl's view) of Big Daddy will be very nice, too.
ThaReaperAssassin - 6/24/2012, 3:50 PM
BRING IT
kemuael - 6/24/2012, 4:56 PM
This movie doesnt sound promising..please let it be good (>_<)
DM725 - 6/24/2012, 8:01 PM
There is no way that's accurrate
IslamForever - 6/25/2012, 12:05 AM
Violence for the sake of violence
Terrible comicbook and the movie is way too over the top
DudeGuyMan - 6/25/2012, 12:21 AM
I love these ideas! Part of me wishes that they would've stuck to the source material, but Kick-Ass 1 was great even though it didn't follow the comic that closely.
I believe this movie will OWN. PERIOD.
comicb00kguy - 6/25/2012, 6:47 AM
Tainted87: I also liked the movie of Kick Ass a lot better than the comic. Even my non-comic reading friends really enjoyed it, and many were sorry they didn't listen to me telling them to go see it in the theater.

I've read enough of Kick Ass 2 to know that that story would need some serious changes to tone it down to an R and make it marketable to non-hardcore-comic fan audiences. The basic concept of Red Mist seeking revenge and of there being a team of wannabe heroes would work, they would just need to seriously tone down the more excessive elements of it. They did it with the first one and made a really entertaining movie. Hopefully, it happens again.
