Capcom just recently announced the arrival of a new unique fighting game to their franchise. Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins is a mixture of Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs Capcom. The game will release on the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network for $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points).

Capcom promises much more than the original games offered. The game will merge both fighting styles giving you the choice of classic one-on-one battles or you can choose the three-on-three tag style that Marvel vs Capcom embodies. The game features an online multiplayer mode with a limit of eight players in the lobby. Players that are waiting for their turn will be pleased to hear that they can watch the match currently going on by using the spectactor mode. Marvel vs Capcom: Origins will also feature HD graphics and the ability to save replays of players' matches.

^ I assumed he was being sarcastic.
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 10:14 AM
It's kind of expensive for those two games, but the sprites look much more better, also it is me or a lot of those stages are new?

@Pepsiguy2
Yeah, I thought he was referring to a Marvel VS Capcom game.
TheAlexLynch - 7/5/2012, 10:15 AM
I'm pretty sure they're adding new stuff, and it's in HD now.
vamp21 - 7/5/2012, 10:23 AM

CorndogBurglar - 7/5/2012, 10:49 AM
All I know is that Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was such a letdown. MvC2 is a far superior game, so this excites me.
Spidey31 - 7/5/2012, 10:53 AM
I hate these fighting games, Spidey and bats make the best games
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 11:01 AM
@CorndogBurglar
"All I know is that Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 was such a letdown."

Then you know nothing LOL

"Partial Nudity"? Really?
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 7/5/2012, 11:33 AM
@DanteSparda Are you daft?! MvC3 was utter shit! Character selections were so off the wall random, it's as if I went into a comic shop, went to the $0.50 boxes, picked out 60 issues, handed them to a kid and said, "Hey, pic out 30 of the prettiest characters you see." MvC2, to this day, far exceeds anything Capcom has put out in this last decade.
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 11:43 AM
@TheGambitFreak
HahahaaHAhaAHaHahAhaHAhahAa, I would think the same if we were talking about a comic book, but we're talking about a fûcking fighting game, and how good it is is actually measured with how depth and fun the gameplay is and the balance and diversity of characters in it, not by how popular their characters are.

And by the way, most of the characters were picked because they haven't appeared in a Marvel VS Capcom game before, some few other because of his fun gameplay and a lot were left behind to open space to the new.
Christuffer - 7/5/2012, 11:43 AM
I remember those games. I was the bomb diggity at them!

@TheGambitFreak - I'm afraid I have to agree. As much as I do in fact play MvC3, it is nothing compared to the second game. One of the worst atrocities they could ever commit was excluding Venom from the roster.

In the new game, the whole strategy is to not let your opponent move at all. Once a combo starts, you might as well put down the controller. It's pitiful. I admire their roster, and I like the pretty graphics, and it is still classic MvC style...but it's not the same.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 still remains as the best. And Captain Commando is still amazing lol
spideyboy - 7/5/2012, 12:11 PM
What's next? Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins? or Super Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins? or how about Super Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins... but this time they take out Megaman, because it's Capcom you know?
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 12:13 PM
@Fartman

Well, if you couldn't escape any combo, then perhaps you weren't that good at playing..?

I see both the most of the combos of MvC2 and 3 very similar in length, perhaps the ones of MvC3 a little longer, but the problem with MvC2 were the lack of balance with a lot of characters like Cable, Sentinel, Storm and of course Magneto and his infinite combos, now those are combos you can't actually escape, and are made by one single character, and still you dare to complaint for the Marvel VS Capcom 3 combos?

Perhaps the problem is that you played Marvel VS Capcom 3 online and MvC2 only with friends, so you aren't fully aware of the competitive level in which the former is played.
TheAlexLynch - 7/5/2012, 12:20 PM
MvC3 was a great game. MvC2 lacked any balance between the characters with overpowered combos and characters making it impossible to defeat some teams with others. Most moves were spammable in MvC2 as well, and back then patches could not fix that.
jessepostal - 7/5/2012, 12:23 PM
you guys do relise it doesn't matter if one person liked the game or not right? haha i wasn't a big fan of 3 either.Two was way more fun!
SWonder916 - 7/5/2012, 12:34 PM
What @DanteSparda said
CorndogBurglar - 7/5/2012, 1:28 PM
@ DanteSparda

Actually, I don't even have a problem with the character selections. I have a problem with the game being a cheese-fest where anyone on earth can pick up a controller and spam one move and win without having any actual skill. Sorry, but that is not a good fighting game, and spamming one move does not make you good.
CorndogBurglar - 7/5/2012, 1:30 PM
Also, the whole killing other characters with one combo is completely ridiculous.
Bark4Soul - 7/5/2012, 1:38 PM
LOL surprised they aren't selling this in disc form and xpecting $60 for it, it seems cool but now that SFxT & UMvC3 are out...this feels dated, cashcom at it's finest
DanteSparda - 7/5/2012, 2:11 PM
@CorndogBurglar

You must be really bad if people beat you using simple mode, or spamming attacks, seriously learn some defense, advance defense and counter skills, play arcade on the hardest difficult, or even better play it online.
Bobevanz - 7/5/2012, 2:25 PM
Heres a thought.....
DoomXfactor - 7/5/2012, 3:22 PM
Aw memories. Spider-man and Gambit FTW!
MadJakHatesSpinoffs - 7/5/2012, 4:12 PM
Marvel VS DC would be an awesome fighting game. I actually make a list of 50 characters that would be perfect for the game. I also would like to see just a straight up Marvel fighting game again. No Capcom, no anyone else, just Marvel.
CorndogBurglar - 7/5/2012, 4:18 PM
@ Dante

Ill admit, I didnt put nearly as much time into this one because poeple online pissed me off. I still held a steady 65% win ratio, but im normally much better at online fighting games.

It got so irritating with EVERYONE picking Dante, sentinel, Phoenix, or wolverine. Phoenix's tracking fireball is pure cheese, u HAVE to block it because she shoots too fast and chips away at health. [frick]ing lame.
mgeoff88 - 7/5/2012, 4:28 PM
That's pretty cool. You're getting two games in one package with this.

After they released Marvel vs. Capcom 2 as a digital download, I'm sure people were eager to play the original as well.
Shadowmaster35 - 7/5/2012, 8:31 PM
awesome stuff but would never pay money again for something i can play anytime on my ps3 by poppin n the old discs
irondragon - 7/6/2012, 11:33 AM
@DanteSparda Although i liked most of the characters in mvc3 and enjoyed playing the game alot, the minute you go online 80-90% of opponents spam projectile attacks or the same combos, there are too many invincibility frames, the controls are not fitting for this type of fighting game, and the characters power levels and moves sets are completley unbalanced, although the ultimate version fixed it a little, it was not enough.

this is coming from a die hard fan of the series who keeps a 79% ratio in mvc3 without spamming. So please do not go after other users for stating their opinion, even though most people who are fans of the series would conceive they are right, it really doesnt take skill on mvc3 to win.
