COMICS: J.H Williams III Announces Departure From BATWOMAN Over Editorial Decisions
J.H Williams III will be departing the fantastic Batwoman series after issue 26 and gave a heartfelt goodbye on his blog explaining that DC made last-minute changes that derailed important plans for the character and more...
In another interesting case of a comic company not allowing a scribe to go where they planned, J.H Williams III has decided to drop out of writing Batwoman after Issue 26 due to editorial's interesting decisions. They told the team to scrap the original ending to their current arc, which would have drastically defined the future of the character and also decided that Kate and Maggie can not be shown getting married. The book's team feels that due to these decisions, the stories will not be as good as they could be. An excerpt from the blog post states: "We were told to ditch plans for Killer Croc’s origins; forced to drastically alter the original ending of our current arc, which would have defined Batwoman’s heroic future in bold new ways; and, most crushingly, prohibited from ever showing Kate and Maggie actually getting married." said Williams.
