CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Has Explosions on Cleveland Set

Downtown Cleveland felt the shockwave of Marvel Studios this morning as police vehicles exploded on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Check out some photos after the jump. UPDATE: Now with video!

This morning in Downtown Cleveland onlookers were treated to a BOOM on the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier!

After a test run for a giant fireball happened very early on set, it took over two hours to prepare for the real deal. And when the cameras were rolling, observers were in for a treat as they witnessed the black SWAT van and police cars blow up, flip and engulf into flames. These are vehicles from the same scene that has been filming over the past few days where Nick Fury's black SUV is surrounded by police and SWAT with heavy duty machine guns.

Logic says someone has arrived to help Nick Fury. Maybe it's the Black Widow or Captain America or even Sam Wilson (a.k.a. the Falcon). Whoever the hero is he or she is bound to show up at the East 6th and Rockwell set in the next few days to help Fury out of his predicament.

Check out the photos below and stay tuned as The Daily SuperHero is your on location source for the Captain America 2 filming in Cleveland.

Our thanks to WYKC for the video...
