You've most likely already read the articles about villains and heroes who might make an appearance in a hopeful Doctor Strange movie. Yet no one has been able to lock down any concrete evidence about the good Doctor for the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con... until now.

Information has been provided to The Daily SuperHero about Doctor Strange's development and you'll get the rest of that info in a future post on CBM. The contact is close to the movie project to the point that mystic spell chants could be heard as background noise. All (bad) jokes asides, this person is pretty much fed up with the bad info being posted online and will use ComicBookMovie.com's The Daily SuperHero as the voice of reasoning to set things right, when things are mis-reported.

Regarding Comic Con though, this source has confirmed what many have anticipated and said, "stay tuned for [Doctor Strange] announcements ... spoiler ... SDCC."

Unfortunately, the exact topic of this SDCC announcement could not be disclosed, but an announcement has now been confirmed. Logically speaking, it's probably safe to say — since Marvel has already set movie release dates for untitled films in 2016 and in 2017 — Doctor Strange will be one of those two releases. Or it could be an announcement saying the movie project is definitely in development and will be a part of Phase 3. Bottom line, it just sounds like the good Doctor's movie is coming.

Stay tuned as The Daily SuperHero will be posting more information about Doctor Strange on CBM soon.

That's awesome! Hopefully SDCC 2013 will be full of announcements from both Marvel and DC - you don't get to say that often...
OdinsBeard - 6/24/2013, 12:01 PM

PsychoManiacJacky - 6/24/2013, 12:06 PM
They should use a comic book portal device thing and bring Dr.Strange the actual character out of the comic into the real world to portrayal himself in his own film based on his adventures and then you can summon those demons out of the comic and all hell could break loose on Earth and we can have a real time live action Dr.Strange movie then it could be documentary on footage and then it could be some like awesome movie based in real life but it would be called a documentary since it was fiction but now it became real and the whole world is real now and like dude do you see the sunshine
Mrsinister - 6/24/2013, 12:06 PM
Nick Cage should be no where near a CBM!
WhiteBolt - 6/24/2013, 12:07 PM
Depp for Strange! Do it Marvel, do it!
marantaz - 6/24/2013, 12:07 PM

amxt - 6/24/2013, 12:13 PM
That's a whole lot of nothing just to say Doctor Strange will be announced at SDCC. If anything, it's a lame ploy to get people to follow you on Twitter. Give meat!
Cartoon22 - 6/24/2013, 12:15 PM
Meh .....
Joe6Pack74 - 6/24/2013, 12:15 PM
They should have someone bad ass like Chris Elliot play Dr. Strange.
Silver769 - 6/24/2013, 12:18 PM
Luke Evans. He is Doctor Strange.
EdgyOutsider - 6/24/2013, 12:19 PM
Stephen Dorff for Strange

@batmaniac: too early, buil up to Civil War
BlindJustice - 6/24/2013, 12:22 PM
Marvel wouldn't cast Nic as Ghost Rider and then as Dr. Strange...would they?

They need a semi-unknown for Dr. Strange. Not too old and not too young...early to mid 30s.
paintedwings - 6/24/2013, 12:23 PM
meh indeed. tbh this dont excite me much. i d much rather a hulk sequel with ruffalo, thomas jane back as punisher (but that would nt work into MCU) or even an alpha flight, -i dont think fox own the rights to alpha flight, could be wrong tho,but doc strange, ,,nah not for me. antman and wasp would work tho
BlindJustice - 6/24/2013, 12:23 PM
Oh and Dr. Strange could defeat Superman...

Magic. Another of Superman's weaknesses...right up there with showtunes.

Perhaps that's what the 2016 release date is? They should talk about the new Daredevil movie, would be cool if that was the 2017 release date.
MrNiklander - 6/24/2013, 12:26 PM
Jim Caviezel as Strange and the Jon Turtelbaub(If I get his name right) to direct. I mean look at Caviezel That's your Doctor Stange right here
LucasMend - 6/24/2013, 12:30 PM

marcvader1 - 6/24/2013, 12:31 PM
No source? Wheres the source?
CaptainKangarooPimp - 6/24/2013, 12:32 PM
Richard Armitage would have been perfect but he was already in Captain America: the First Avenger.
BlindJustice - 6/24/2013, 12:33 PM
FOX own the rights to the word "mutant" in the Marvel cinematic universe. Alpha Flight would have to be made by Marvel without having them be mutants. Although the Hudsons were somewhat mentioned in X-men Origins: Wolverine...(the old couple)

Marvel needs to just focus on what they have already paved the way for: Character sequels, Avengers movies, and introducing new members into their Phase 3. Dr. Strange will fit into Phase 3 much like GotG will fit into Phase 2.
gambgel - 6/24/2013, 12:33 PM
would preffer a Black Panther movie first, but anyway

maybe on 2020
wcwpoet - 6/24/2013, 12:33 PM
@Batz11 that's exactly who I was going to post Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston. Marvel Make it So!
BlindJustice - 6/24/2013, 12:33 PM
@beto - Different studios, buddy.
Show4God1 - 6/24/2013, 12:35 PM
please no Nic Cage. I'd rather suffer through having my eye balls scooped out with a dull rusty spoon than see him in another Comic Book Movie.
LEEE777 - 6/24/2013, 12:36 PM
Just make it already!

An...... CAGE FIGHT!!! : D
BlindJustice - 6/24/2013, 12:37 PM
@beto - Yes, but NOT Marvel Studios...
CaptainKangarooPimp - 6/24/2013, 12:37 PM
I love Nic Cage but people really need to stop casting him for serious comic book roles.
LEEE777 - 6/24/2013, 12:37 PM
Hey no hating on the CAGE btw! :p

He was awesome in KICK ASS!
YoungThanos - 6/24/2013, 12:38 PM
Just hire an actor who's as charismatic as RDJ along with a great script and presto!

Box office magic.
Smallvillefan21 - 6/24/2013, 12:38 PM
To Mrsinister, you are the hero today, my good sir for saying that Nicolas Cage should be no where near a comic book movie!!

Who I think should be in one is Patrick Dempsey!
Can anyone say PERFECT CASTING?!?!?!?!? :)
