Sam Worthington begins quest to make CBM's before they are CB's

His new production company 'Full Clip' already has movies lined up before the source material goes to print...

Sam Worthington must feel that he's not making enough of that sweet delicious blockbuster coin and he knows what is hot right now - comic books - and movies - oh my. He's started up his own production company called 'Full Clip' (cool name I must admit). His new company's plan as of right now is specializing in knocking out CBMs (Comic Book Movies for those who don't know what link they just clicked). The catch is - the comic books haven't been made yet.

So Worthington has a deal with Radical Publishing to get the comic books developed and written so that the movie can be made alongside the source material. Kind of like how Kick-Ass rolled out. And hey - that turned out ok didn't it?

“As a lifelong fan of comics, I'm so excited to have the chance to create material which I can then personally bring to life on screen," Worthington said.

As of right now Worthington is working with Radical Publishing on The Last Days of the American Crime. After that a description of another comic book/movie in development called Damaged has been revealed via Heat Vision and quoted as below:

“centers on two brothers committed to justice in different ways -- one inside the law, one violently beyond it. Now with the end of their careers approaching, they must train their replacements, hoping to remake them in their image. But the vigilante code has changed and the brothers are left unprepared for the true lawlessness and corruption that is about to be unleashed.”

John and Michael Schwarz are Worthington's partners behind Full Clip and David Lapham is going to be writing the comic Damaged while it also gets developed as a film. Lapham is an acclaimed comic book writer behind the vicious Stray Bullets and new ultraviolent Crossed:Family Values - which he took over from Garth Ennis' first run.

Whether the movies are good or not, there's no way that the each film will stay true to source if you take this approach. Like Kick-Ass.
Spock - 7/1/2010, 1:11 PM
He must be still pissed over the Who Cap thing!
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 7/1/2010, 1:12 PM
Tell you the truth, his a good actor and all, but for some reason I don't like him.
CRITIC17 - 7/1/2010, 1:15 PM
LEEE you TRAITOR!!!

I always said he'd be the perfect Cap!!! But oh well...

Yeah, he needs a CBM role now!!!!
JoshWilding - 7/1/2010, 1:26 PM
Uh...maybe he should think about spending his money on a decent dialect coach who can teach him to lose the Aussie accent instead! :P
InTylerWeTrust - 7/1/2010, 1:27 PM
I can't think of a CBM role for him. Maybe Captain Boomerang LOL.
Spock - 7/1/2010, 1:28 PM
@JOsh i didn't hear the accent in Avatar or Clash of the Titans.
mstargel - 7/1/2010, 1:28 PM
interesting concept on approaching comics and CBMs from a business aspect.
GoGoGadgetsBruh - 7/1/2010, 1:29 PM

LEEE777 - 7/1/2010, 2:40 PM
CRITIC @ ; D

Yeh but TORCH BOY has that role now! : (

Asian/GotBatman @ I've also cast him as HAWKMAN, not the CARTER one tho, still better ANIMAL MAN lol, GERARD BUTLER would own as HAWKMAN!

But knowing HOLLYWOOD, if they ever did HAWKMAN, JAMIE BELL or someone would get the role! : D
GoGoGadgetsBruh - 7/1/2010, 2:43 PM
LEEE777 @ hell yeah to Gerard! Worthington is a good Kator Hol version :) Gerard for Carter Hall!
Joker08 - 7/1/2010, 3:36 PM
@tea: Come on, give the guy a break... I at least think he'd make a half-decent Arm Fall Off Boy.
LEEE777 - 7/1/2010, 3:36 PM
BATS @ Yeah KATOR HOL's cool!

TEA @ : D
Dusk - 7/1/2010, 3:50 PM
@ joker08, is it just me or does that guys arm socket look like a butthole? lol!
Spock - 7/1/2010, 3:51 PM
@JOsh, teabag, & Ham, I must of missed it. As soon as I get a chance.
Joker08 - 7/1/2010, 5:03 PM
@Twilight: Nope - it's not just you. He's known by the rest of the Legion of Super-Heroes as Captain Anus-Plug. The best part is he hangs around with 'Man Eater Lad', which makes the reference all the more relevant (and that's not a joke, look him up too)...
jusme6 - 7/1/2010, 5:44 PM
@Kevin: Looked like a dumb article. Then I saw you wrote it, so I had to read it. Good work!
duncboy - 7/1/2010, 6:27 PM
Comic books don't make movies and movies don't make comic books; people make movies about characters they love, regardless of the original form of media used. As much as I like Sam Worthington, this idea is flawed because he isn't building around characters people are already familiar with, which makes movies like "The Dark Knight" different than "Kick-Ass".
Ranger14 - 7/1/2010, 6:34 PM
I don't know what it is about this guy, but he bugs the crap out of me. Can't loose his accent and hold another dialect... Now he's trying to overcompensate for his shortcomings (pun intended after I thought about it) in not getting CBM parts? Meh...he just bugs me.
Joker08 - 7/2/2010, 12:39 AM
@telavizion: Yep. And let's not forget Dogwelder - the evil SOB who welds dead puppies to people's faces. He was in a Lobo/Hitman crossover.

@Hamm3rtym3: You're right - Wow. I better get my freaking mind out of the gutter... Seriously, I knew it was Matter Eating Lad, and I honestly don't know why I thought was thinking he was called "Man" instead. But that's what I remembered for some reason... I am straight by the way.
Thanks for pointing that out for me! But you must admit - 'Matter Eater Lad' still isn't much of an improvement...
Shaman - 7/2/2010, 4:41 AM
Skyh00k- Yeah, i agree with Grif here too.

YYYAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dusk - 7/2/2010, 6:24 AM
@ Joker08, captain anus-plug? i thought sam worthington had that nickname locked down! lol
zeonsdemon - 7/2/2010, 7:10 AM
thats [frick]ing stupid
Yourdaddydevilandlord - 7/2/2010, 1:19 PM
He is a horrible actor. I like that he is planning on screwing up stuff that I have no sentimental attachment to instead of playing Captain Amer...Australia. He already ruined Clash, among other people, and he was the worst part of Avatar by far. His acting was brutal in what was otherwise a decent movie.
Joker08 - 7/3/2010, 2:39 AM
@Twilight - You're probably right - I'm sure he'll end up making a movie for it too (before the release of the graphic novel - I'd expect no less.) Word is he'll be taking on his arch-rival "The Proctologist".
Dusk - 7/4/2010, 4:23 AM
@ joker08, ohh you're such a joker! lol *pun totally intended*
