SDCC '14: First Look At 'Ultron Mark 1' From AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON?

We caught a glimpse of this yesterday, but now a much better photo has been taken of what appears to be the first body that the villainous Ultron (played by The Blacklist's James Spader) builds for himself in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Hit the jump to check it out!

Hank Pym not being Ultron's creator in Avengers: Age of Ultron is one major change, but now it seems like we should expect another. Based on the footage description for the movie (which you can read by clicking here), it sounds as if Tony Stark will be responsible only for the creation of the Ultron A.I. and not his first physical form. What you see below appears to be the first crude body that the villain builds for himself when he attacks Earth's Mightiest Heroes for the first time in Avengers Tower. Talk about a Frankenstein feel, eh? What do you guys think?

Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Samuel L. Jackson, and is set to be released on May 1st, 2015.

Looks cool. I'm guessing that's after the Avengers destroyed his first version.

I already love Ultron, purely based on what dialogue we have from him and especially the line, "No strings on me." That's chilling and [frick]ing badass at the same time.

Pretty cool, guessing this is a version of it that's been smashed to pieces by the Avengers

Something just hit me. In one of Wardell's tweets he wrote that the "DUM-E" that Stark salvaged at the end of Iron Man 3 would be how Ultron constructs his first form.

After seeing this that seems very likely. The Ultron AI will probably hack and take over all of the "tools" and bots in Tony's workshop in Avengers tower and use it to construct this crude form.

So he has no legs in the scene or just the prop?
PymParticle - 7/27/2014, 11:45 AM
BTW. Why would Ultron choose this crude bad design over just uploading himself into one of the Iron Legion armors? Which are clearly superior.

You could make the argument that those are being governed by Jarvis, but Jarvis would also notice if Ultron started to construct a body for himself.

@cosmiclord Big chance this prop is how "Ultron" looks after the party scene fight. Probably ripped in half by Thor / Hulk!

I was just imagining Ultron singing this and it's really creepy:
