In a recent Q & A session at the Salt Lake Comic-Con, Stan Lee shared his feelings about the death of Gwen Stacy, and how he responded when he found out Gerry Conway killed her off, "That’s a very sore subject with me. I created Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane [Watson], and I wanted to have some fun with them as the series went along." He then added, "I came back and I found out he had killed Gwen Stacy. I almost killed Jerry Conway." Lee, toward the end of the Comic-con said that the people of Utah had the greatest Comic-con, "You people have the greatest comic con in the world," After that was said the crowd went off and cheered in excitement.
