DC Comics - "This is no gimmick boys and girls; this is the new status quo!!"

*Three months later*

DC Comics - "Aww man guys this break-up will terrible."

F**k you Johns.

I'm torn on this to be honest. Superman and Wonder Woman seem like a natural fit, worked out great in Kingdom Come too. But if DC is finally giving us the New 52 Clark and Lois, a relationship that we'll get to see from scratch then I'm down with that for sure.

Now all we need is Barry/Iris and Green Arrow/Black Canary and DC can begin to atone for the sin that is the New 52...

Just as with Marvel dissolving the marriage of The Black Panther & Storm, I truly feel that the real skill of the writers involved (and the editors behind them) would have come from KEEPING Superman & Wonder Woman together, yet writing stories that kept their union interesting.

DUMPED! But seriously, [frick] the writers of this shit.

No shit, Geoff Johns. You're DC Comics, you lack the strength to stick to your conviction.

Good. I'm glad the DC guys got it out of their system-- just like John Byrne and George Perez did after Crisis. It was an important question and an interesting relationship to tackle.

After all, SO many people think those two are practically made to be together, so it was smart to hook them up for a while... but it was ALSO smart that they realized that it couldn't be a permanent thing, and that it would never, EVER work from a dramatic or storytelling standpoint. And hell, breaking them up badly should add a nice touch of tension to their relationship-- a new dynamic to explore in an old friendship.

Well played, Geoff.

(Though revealing that it's going to end well before you're actually gonna do it is... a questionable move. Whatever happened to suspense? Surprise? ... Ahh, I guess we haven't had THOSE in comic books since solicitations were invented.)

When they hook Diana up with Batman, the same people will call it genius.

Batman does it = good, Superman does it = Bad.

I wonder what Wonder Woman's gonna do, pull her lasso of truth out and see that Supes has been sleeping with 10 other women?

Good. I don't like when Johns ruins Wonder-characters to enhance Super-characters. It's what he did with Wonder Girl by attaching her to Superboy. I'm so glad Azzarello just flat out ignored the whole affair. Supes and Wondy together is stupid beyond description.

I really want Batman and Wonder Woman together... what can I say? I'm a product of the animated series!

Geoff Johns needs a break. He's just taking ideas from Mark Waid and making them his own(the whole Batman's got a secret weapon for each JL member and a relationship between supes and WW like we saw in The Kingdom).

I dunno... the whole new52 thing is starting to get dull. I wonder how low do sales have to get for DC to drop the new52 altogether.

The big two marvel and DC honestly kinda suck now

Which is a shame because I'd love to shell out cash on something as good as hush or civil war

Axel Alonso really sucks which is evident by the quality of comics he has overseen avx avengers arena etc.

Dan radio has always sucked if he's still in charge

Not sure how I feel about this. Tbh, apart from the revelation that Batman probably has Supersex on film, this much-hyped relationship has changed things... not at all. Seriously. No impact on Supes. No impact on Wondy. No particularly romantic moments anywhere. It's not even really a romance yet: as far as DC's revealed, they're basically in the early dating phase.

I'd hoped that we'd at least get something worthy of remembrance out of the whole shebang, but I suppose it was too much to hope for. Back to Lois, I guess. Because there's so much fresh material in that pairing.

Hate to be a dick to DC, but this is my reaction to this news:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3ALwKeSEYs

In all seriousness, though, I KNEW this would happen sooner or later! This is why they should've kept him with Lois. At least it's something we're used to. Writers for certain Elseworlds stories have tried and failed to hook Superman and Wonder Woman as lovers and it almost always comes off as forced and dumb (except in Kingdom Come, but there was a proper reason for that as Lois was already long since killed by the Joker in that story!). Hell, Frank Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Again story is a PERFECT example of why this concept never seems to work 99% of the time! Just leave Lois and Clark together and don't try this again, DC Comics. In fact, WHY DON'T YOU WANNA JUST STOP FOCUSING ON THIS NEW 52 UNIVERSE AND GO BACK TO THE REGULAR TIMELINE?! Greedy morons, oy.......

Hum guys, I read the complete interview, they never said Supes and Diana, would break up, they were making an hypothesis, a possibility, and the risks of them being together or splitt up. Do you seriously think they would announce it that way ? Kind of spoilery for DC.

I used to really love DC. But my DC pull list has been burning up on reentry lately. And this Trinity War business doesn't grab me in the slightest. I still love the characters. Superman and Green Lantern will always be favorites of mine. Here's hoping they get reinvigorated with the movies.

I've been interested in seeing her and Batman together since the old Justice League cartoon. The only thing that ever made me want to see Superman and Wonder Woman together was Kingdom Come.
