The Dark Knight Returns Teaser Poster

Are we finally seeing movement on the Batman front? Hollywood Chicago thinks so, posting a teaser poster depicting the Riddler in The Dark Knight Returns!

Although the project doesn't seem to be moving, HollywoodChicago, believes this is the first poster for "The Dark Knight" sequel. They believe it so much that IMDB.com already posted it under the photos of "Untitled Batman Project" and has it as the main movie poster.
See It For Yourself:

If this is truly the poster for the movie and IMDB is right, then we should see the return of The Dark Knight in 2011. Although most of you must believe that this is fake, it has not been denied so, unlike the other posters that have surfaced.
Such as this one:

I think HollywoodChicago can be trusted due to their constant coverage during the filming of TDK. I'm personally not so sure about the poster, but what do you think? Is this real? Could TDKR be coming out in 2011? Should TDK have a sequel with the Riddler? Discuss it all and more below.

I'm sure it's a fake.
longbowhunter - 9/12/2009, 1:07 PM
Fake, but cool none the less.
Phinehas - 9/12/2009, 1:10 PM
A little ostentatious. I'm thinking fake too. The second looks more believable than the undebunked one. Also, we know that IMDb has used unreliable fan-based articles from this site. That can't even be trusted. Journalism is a rare commodity these days.
thedarkknight666 - 9/12/2009, 1:11 PM
fake saw these last year
JoshWilding - 9/12/2009, 1:12 PM
hmm....they're excellent but im guessing that they're 100% fake!

saying that though, taking another look the first one looks pretty crap. the second is a great peice of work though! :)
BmacAttack - 9/12/2009, 1:12 PM
I like it. Wish it were true...
LEEE777 - 9/12/2009, 1:14 PM
Maybe its not a fake!!! (Well the second one).

Most probably its a wink that RIDDLER is in it!

Well, ya never know lol. ; )

Very nice find @ WATCH!!!
NataliaRomanov - 9/12/2009, 1:17 PM
Um, too "busy" to be a real teaser image. Those little ?'s are too much...reminds me of a Matrix poster. But, cool to think about!
clarkkent007 - 9/12/2009, 1:18 PM
still it`s awesome
Roscoe182 - 9/12/2009, 1:18 PM
that 2nd poster iv had on my pc for a few months now that first 1 dnt really look like a movie poster
Hyson - 9/12/2009, 1:29 PM
Nolan is much better than having to rehash other peoples' marketing strategies, including his own. The next movie, if there is one, will do something different.
supermarioworldE - 9/12/2009, 1:30 PM
of course they're fake. PRE-production for the movie hasn't even started yet.
THEHAWK - 9/12/2009, 1:31 PM
Saw this months ago. Their fake.
Joe6Pack74 - 9/12/2009, 1:35 PM
I would say it is a fake. "The Dark Knight Returns" If was going to feature the Riddler would it not be "The Dark Knight Returns?"
Joe6Pack74 - 9/12/2009, 1:38 PM
At least we get a new batmobile to look forward to. That was my only criticism of the first two movies. I hated that version of the batmobile.
LEEE777 - 9/12/2009, 1:41 PM
lol

Yeah, we want a REAL BATMOBILE this time! ; D
JoshWilding - 9/12/2009, 1:50 PM
I liked the Batmobile from Begins and TDK! It was much more realistic IMO - still, a new one slightly more like the original one might be a good idea!
LEEE777 - 9/12/2009, 2:09 PM
Fotc @ Sounds good to me dude an why that's all happening, BATS as he's on the RUN, could be hunted down by hired guns like DEADSHOT and DEATHSTROKE!!!

DEADSHOT AND DEATHSTROKE BATMAN 3
flames809 - 9/12/2009, 2:16 PM
is fake but looks cool
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 2:22 PM
They're obviously fan made. They wouldn't release any posters this early on in the film's development, if there is any development at this moment :)

But very cool posters nonetheless.
PlaidRocker - 9/12/2009, 2:23 PM
Most likely fake, but you know, I wouldn't complain if it were real. :)
theBat.toM2 - 9/12/2009, 2:24 PM
The "fake" one looks better than the "real" one!
LEEE777 - 9/12/2009, 2:30 PM
OZY @ The SKY!!! ; D
SHHH - 9/12/2009, 2:32 PM

flames809 - 9/12/2009, 2:35 PM
Tyler-actually they would didn't you see the four poster of spiderman 4, captain America 1,Thor,ironman 2 be4 they starting shooting the movie
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 2:36 PM
I wonder if they will actually call the new movie "The Dark Knight Returns." It's an awesome title, but it may interfere with an actual movie based off that comic in the future, but I don't think that's such a big deal.

Flames: They don't even have a ready script for the movie, they don't have a definite cast, etc. I don't think they would release a poster this earlu.
LEEE777 - 9/12/2009, 2:41 PM
THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS is the miller comic book!

WB should make a stand alone movie of that with that title!
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 2:43 PM
The only other title I can think of that isn't Batman 3 are "The Caped Crusader" but I don't like that one.
flames809 - 9/12/2009, 2:46 PM
it should be call the dark knight returns because he quit being batman so he has to returns for a reason
ASSASSIN666 - 9/12/2009, 2:46 PM
Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller is only a notch down from Watchmen, it is that good, and would be incredible if they filmed it as it was written.
Ryden - 9/12/2009, 2:54 PM
dude seriously? this poster has been around for a while, its totally fan-made, I've seen better ones actually, theres no way they'd even thnk about making posters yet because the movie might not even happen, theres no script or nothing right now, and the title shouldn't be the Dark Knight Returns unless they're making the Frank Miller graphic novel, Gotham sounds better
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 2:56 PM
What about "Batman Trashes Riddler's Lights"?

;)
LexLuthor - 9/12/2009, 3:01 PM
I think if they're doing a riddler movie, "The Man in Question" would be a great title.

Dark Knight Returns would be really unoriginal and not to say it conflicts with one of the greatest graphic novels of all time.
LEEE777 - 9/12/2009, 3:07 PM
TYLER @ ; )

Angelus @ Not bad dude!
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 3:14 PM
"Gotham Knight" and "Gotham City" are also fairly popular titles, but I don't like those 2 either :(

If I had to choose a title, I suppose I'd go for "The Caped Crusader"
InSpace - 9/12/2009, 3:23 PM
InTylerWeTrust82@ yeah they should save it for a GCPD movie.

Hopefully this isnt fake.
Retribution13 - 9/12/2009, 3:28 PM
If it was true then there would be TONS of filming news, casting news and all that shit! But I hope its not cause I want Steven Colbert for Riddler!!!!
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 3:31 PM
Colbert is hilarious. The Colbert Report is one of my favorite tv shows to watch. He's awesome....but I would be laughing at him as Riddler. I wouldn't buy him as the character, I'd just see Stephen Colbert.

David Tennant/Michael C. Hall for Riddler.

RolandOfGilead - 9/12/2009, 3:33 PM
There is already a set story called The Dark Knight Returns written and illustrated by Frank Miller. If they don't make the DKR movie along the same story as the comic I will be royally pissed and boycott the movie. Frank Miller does an amazing job in that comic of bringing Bats out of retirement and back into crime fighting. I would only want to see that title with the same story of the comic because it is one of the best stories ever!
Nerd81 - 9/12/2009, 3:41 PM
Yeah these are fake I've seen them a year ago, around the time TDK was being released.
SGA - 9/12/2009, 3:45 PM
I think that these are fake.

But I really love the second poster.

and Roland...I don't think that boycotting a movie has worked recently. I'm not going to go as far as to say ever, but at least in the last 10 years. I mean, c'mon, they came out w/ Dragonball. I don't think you threatening to boycot a DKR movie that isn't like the comic is going to give Hollywood much grief
ATOMbomb - 9/12/2009, 3:49 PM
Yeah its fake, but I hope they get something rolling soon. Depp would make an incredible Riddler, hell he would make an incredible Joker. I'm tired of hearing that the character can no longing be used because of Ledger's death. Yeah, he did an amazing job but Depp is just as good an actor. No other actor could take on the role and really deliver. I can't wait to see the next Batman film and I really hope Depp is involved, he such a great actor. I truly believe if the film could be right up there with The Dark Knight. Depp as The Riddler or The Joker! They need to stop thinking pressure and start thinking progress.
GUNSMITH - 9/12/2009, 3:58 PM
IF IT WAS THE RIDDLER, I'LL TELL YOU STRAIGHT UP, NOLAN WOULDN'T HAVE HIM WEAR WHAT WERE USE TO SEEING...HE GOES FOR NEW SPINS FROM LEFT FIELD.THE JOKER IS A SCARRED PSYCHOPATH THAT WEARS CLOWN MAKE UP LIKE WAR PAINT..AND IT WAS PHENOMENAL.....!. IF NOLAN DID RIDDLER, HE WOULD BE A FAR CRY FROM JIM CAREY'S RENDITION.
ATOMbomb - 9/12/2009, 4:01 PM
Yeah, I agree but I know he would do a great job with the look. I thought Jim did an amazing job as The Riddler, only good character in the film.
Rokrad - 9/12/2009, 4:02 PM
@ Lee i never thought about David Tennant dude! he would be perfect... he was a good barty crouch jr in HP... he is a way better choice than johnny depp
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 4:03 PM
Carrey was entertaining, but it was, in general, a horrible depiction of who the Riddler is.
Duhdaduh - 9/12/2009, 4:11 PM
dude i love that newspaper poster!!!

but definitely, i think they should go down the road that riddler is trying to find out who the hell batman is, cause thats the whole best riddle thing. it makes sense because police and all will want to know since he is on the run!!! its gold!! have him a weird intellectual in a green suit who always annoyingly asks rhetorical questions and trick riddles when gettin a point across. then i think you should have joker break out, have him in there. it would cause buzz to have people want to see if the new guy's is as good a joker as heath
InTylerWeTrust - 9/12/2009, 4:15 PM
No Joker busting out. He shouldn't be a major player in the next one, not even a minor player. A small cameo of him in the shadows in his cells is appropriate.
GUNSMITH - 9/12/2009, 4:26 PM
IF ID TAKE A GUESS AT WHAT THEY MIGHT DO(AND ITS JUST A GUESS), THE MANSION IS COMPLETED, A NEW BATCAVE AND A BRAND NEW UPGRADED BATMOBILE IS MADE.A NEW VILLAIN STARTS DOING A" JIGSAW" ON ALL OF GOTHAM,GETTING OFF BY OUTWITTING EVERYONE AND LEAVING RIDDLES AT EVERY TRAGEDY,BATMAN TRIES TO LOCATE THE RIDDLER BUT TO NO AVAIL, AND TO MAKE IT WORSE, THE RIDDLER SETS THE JOKER FREE TO WREAK MAYHEM ON GOTHAM..WHAT NEEDS SAVING?-WHERE IS THE TRUE VILLAINS? WHERE DOES THE DARKNIGHT FIGHT EVIL IN EVERY CORNER?---"GOTHAM"
