The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to hit theatres on July 3rd, 2012.

That moment between Spidey and little kid is brilliant.
blueorangeny - 5/14/2012, 7:08 PM
It looks good, the kid from the car scene was nice. But I have a question, Spidey and the web gadget, is that normal? I thought the web just was a natural thing with Peter since he was bitten? Can anyone explain the reason or if I'm wrong. Plus I'm feeling they are changing his origin a bit or I am seeing it wrong. thanks
ClaireLannister2016 - 5/14/2012, 7:08 PM
Looks good I guess. Just something about it rubs me the wrong way. I guess its just the whole angsty feel.
Lehnhart - 5/14/2012, 7:08 PM
@Wolvie I agree! Looking forward to that scene!
GreendaleHumanBeing - 5/14/2012, 7:08 PM
I beginning to think the blue gas will be an antidote for The Lizard's green formula... or it will be like the Mass Effect 3 ending. I hate colors now.
Thanos005 - 5/14/2012, 7:10 PM
"Most anticipated"? Okay Sony. Okay.
HULK2099 - 5/14/2012, 7:10 PM
Simply amazing
restaino814 - 5/14/2012, 7:11 PM
@blueorangeny

Spider-man in the comics only gains power, agility, wall crawling, and spidey sense (with other minor things) and he creates the web shooters with his scientific knowledge.
Sam Raimi went with the organic web shooters just to make it his own.
jackdawak - 5/14/2012, 7:11 PM
Unbephuckinlievable....im way too excited for this movie
Mystery - 5/14/2012, 7:12 PM
ahh beat me to it, amazing footage!
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 5/14/2012, 7:12 PM
Okay, first of all I think this movie will be great. Having said that, this was incredibly lame. All it showed was maybe 30 seconds of footage we haven't seen. Very disappointed. It's like they just combined all the trailers together, save for the beginning and the end.
XxSnakeProxX - 5/14/2012, 7:12 PM
Damnit this looks sooooo damn good! Screw the nitpicky idiots and Tobey fanboys, this looks great.
WelcomeBackFrank - 5/14/2012, 7:13 PM
Loved it though I hope they won't go the Raimi-route and have Spidey always taking off his mask.

Anyways, good, good fun. Can't wait.
Mark10 - 5/14/2012, 7:13 PM
"Summer's most anticipated..." All of that went to The Avengers. Other than that, I would still watch this since I'm a sucker for superhero films.
sonofsamadams - 5/14/2012, 7:13 PM
@Thanos

Exactly my thoughts. Most of my co-workers don't even know there's a new Spider-man movie coming out. They're all hyped up for Batman and Prometheus.

And my reaction to the clip?
Looks good, but there's just this overwhelming feeling that this movie will be this year's Green Lantern.
RorMachine - 5/14/2012, 7:13 PM
Hmm, kid scene was cool..effects looked a bit ropey though. Garfield might be borderline annoying. Still a bit underwhelmed by everything I;m seeing from thsi movie so far. Hope I'm wrong.
blueorangeny - 5/14/2012, 7:14 PM
@ Restaino & VenomSpawn - thanks for the clarification on it. Not that I was looking at it because of Raimi's version. It's just I thought it was some what natural for him. I collect Amazing Spiderman's comics but never read them. Anyway, thanks for the explanation.
imnotahero - 5/14/2012, 7:14 PM
"Most anticipated film" I had to pause the video because i was laughing so hard.
Spidey31 - 5/14/2012, 7:15 PM
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO [frick]ING GOOD I. CAN'T WAIT!
MAXQ1961 - 5/14/2012, 7:15 PM
This movie looks very cool and true to Spidey!
TankD - 5/14/2012, 7:15 PM
stop..taking..off... YOUR MASK!!!!
TrueRedBlue - 5/14/2012, 7:15 PM
At first I was like "NOO! HE'S JUST TAKING OFF HIS MASK TO ANYONE!" But then I saw how geniusly it turned out to be! Can't wait! Also, the football part was great!
OptimusPrimeTime - 5/14/2012, 7:16 PM
I'm actually coming around. I'm starting to like the look and vibe of this movie more and more.

This portrayal, so far, is FAR more close to the Peter Parker we know and love from the comics. The wimpy titty-baby that we saw in previous Spiderman films was always my only true complaint.

This however, save for the snoutless lizard, has really nothing about it I don't like so far.
Steping - 5/14/2012, 7:17 PM
"Most anticipated"???????? This is joke
marvel72 - 5/14/2012, 7:18 PM
that looked good, the next marvel/sony film to do a billion.
Knightrider - 5/14/2012, 7:18 PM
Some alright looking set pieces, looks like should be a good little movie, I am going to see it, would I am say I am excited yeah, but just not TDKR or Avengers excited. Just is something about it, can't quite put my finger on it that isn't working for me.

Not sure if I am getting the feeling that with TDKR and Avengers we are getting to almost perfect examples of how to make a CBM and Spider-Man is feeling a little middle of the road.

Who knows, final judgement held off until I have watched it I guess.
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 5/14/2012, 7:19 PM
Anybody who bitches about him taking off his mask, he was doing it to comfort the kid and not freak him out. Plus he had him put it on for a confidence boost. It was a great move, wish there was more than a few new scenes though.
nailbiter111 - 5/14/2012, 7:19 PM
looks great to me.
ibravosp5 - 5/14/2012, 7:19 PM
I was going to be sad if that kid fell because spidey failed to save him... THIS WILL BE AN AWSOME MOVIE!!!!
Ashes2Phoenix - 5/14/2012, 7:20 PM
That beginning sequence brought a chill down my spine. That is what a hero is about people. Great moment with the kid.
LGLantern - 5/14/2012, 7:20 PM
it does look good, I will give it that, but "Most anticipated" yeah I don't think so. The "Most Anticipated" movie was released a few weeks back and has grossed over a billion so far....the next "Most Anticipated" movie comes out late july and will hopefully do the same, for those playing at home i'm talking about The Dark Knight Rises...going to be a great movie, but the name is so shit!

they should have named The Dark Knight, shadow of the bat or named this Movie "Rise of the Bat" "the Batman" Or "The Dark Knight Returns"
nailbiter111 - 5/14/2012, 7:20 PM
well, taking the mask off all the time is getting fooking annoying. but then again that scene in the first spider-man when he is chatting on the roof with the goblin and they both had their masks on was really odd.
TheBigBoss917 - 5/14/2012, 7:21 PM
Might be a sleeper hit...maybe
ClaireLannister2016 - 5/14/2012, 7:21 PM
Ehhh I dont care much about that whole "Most anticipated". Every movie is claiming that. Hell I bet even Battleship is claiming they're the most anticipated movie of the year in their tv spots.
MAXQ1961 - 5/14/2012, 7:22 PM
Let's see... Spider-man $842 mill, Spider-man 2 $784 mill and Spider-man 3 $892 mill = SEQUEL!!!

And Sony needs the money!
JonathaNisMagnuM - 5/14/2012, 7:22 PM
@TankD I've said the same thing A MILLION TIMES!!!
JonathaNisMagnuM - 5/14/2012, 7:23 PM
o BTW, Did anyone recognize PonyBoy?!? LOL
STAY GOLD
SuspenseSmith - 5/14/2012, 7:24 PM
I got a little sniffly with the mask thing. That's kind of intense, but brilliant.
NOID - 5/14/2012, 7:25 PM
Most anticipated? Yeah, i might question that... but not bad

spiderman2020 - 5/14/2012, 7:25 PM
this was amazing. can't wait for this movie to come out!
merrillmind - 5/14/2012, 7:27 PM
First let me say nice jon Wolvie I posted at literally the exact same time you did so kudos. LOVED the interaction between Peter and the kid the scene looks very cool but sadly and in 3D which is how everyone should see it since this movie is the first since AVATAR to be shot all in 3D but ILM should've done the SFX because if GREEN LANTERN proved anything it's that Sony ImageWorks can't pull off "phenomenal" cgi. That said I'm a huge fan of Andrew's work as an actor so I'm sure he'll carry this movie with ease pure parker loving every bit I see.
Blitzed - 5/14/2012, 7:27 PM
@CatwomanTDKR lol "Angsty feel"...kinda like the pic you have for your avatar?
wyokid - 5/14/2012, 7:27 PM

I was hoping to get a XFC (aka surprise CBM of the year) vibe out of this, but something about this movie doesn't feel right.
merrillmind - 5/14/2012, 7:28 PM
*nice job Wolvie
