While it is still early to say how much will The Amazing Spider-Man actually make during this 6-day debut, Marc Webb's reboot opened with $7.5 million in midnight screenings, according to Exhibitor Relations and Deadline:

"I’ve just learned that The Amazing Spider-Man opened with $7.5 million in midnight showings, which is the same result as such blockbuster films as Iron Man 2, Pirates Of The Caribbean 2, and even Spider-Man 3."

Good number indeed. Stay tuned for more updates. Starring Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, The Amazing Spider-Man is now in theatres!

Damn lol
ksommer - 7/3/2012, 9:28 AM
Bazinga. It's weird opening on a Tuesday because if it's on pace like IM2, didn't that make 130? But that was after three days and being on the weekend.
ATrueHero1987 - 7/3/2012, 9:29 AM
Ready to see this! I have to wait until Sat afternoon!!
BRandom - 7/3/2012, 9:31 AM
IF you guys have seen it, what was up with the after credits scene?
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 9:32 AM
Go see it guys, it was awesome.

Should make a lot of cash.
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 9:33 AM
Spoiler ---------

It was Norman/Goblin. I didn't know either
GLprime2814 - 7/3/2012, 9:35 AM
It was good.
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 9:35 AM
So stoked for the Spider Universe. It's a sheme we won't get to see him on the silver screen with the X-men or Fantastic Four or Avengers anytime soon, but Sony and Webb and company did a great job with the reboot!!!!!
sKeemAn - 7/3/2012, 9:38 AM
I'm with Grif I was looking forward to this and its a major disappointment
BRandom - 7/3/2012, 9:40 AM
@Skate- how did you find out though? I just thought it was so vague
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 9:42 AM
My comic book movie nerd homie told me and I saw it somewhere else. It sounded like him.
OdinsBeard - 7/3/2012, 9:44 AM
maybe this is just me - but the novelty of the midnight showing has worn off. my new thing is go to the first showing in the morning the day after it comes out. so far i'm liking it!
BRandom - 7/3/2012, 9:44 AM
@skate.....Spoiler..

But how did he just disappear like that? it was crayy! It made me think electro bc he vanished when lighting popped.
DanteSparda - 7/3/2012, 9:45 AM
Nice going for the good old web-head, if the movie is as good as some say I'm going to watch it twice or even trice.

C0MICB00KGUY - 7/3/2012, 9:47 AM
This movie sucked. Aside from special effects. It was based on ultimate spiderman which I didn't think was great. It was more like Twilight Spiderman.
thespiderman209 - 7/3/2012, 9:47 AM
its Michael Massee whoa the guy in the shadows, same actor who played funboy in the Crow, maybe he'll bethe next Norman Osborn or villain?
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 9:47 AM
The film was tiiiiiiiiight!!!! I thought it was deep. Oh the way they set up Gwen's character. The fight scenes with the lizard. Parkers relationship with his peers and family.

Parker a genuis. Not a whiny terd. Kudos Sony. I'll be dumping some more cash your way later in week.
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 9:49 AM
@ B random
I don't know. That was my first reaction and what my friend said. You could be right. Haha
Spidey31 - 7/3/2012, 9:51 AM
SPOILER***

I don't think GG will be the villian in TASM2, but I do know they will introduce MJ and Harry. Peter dumped Gwen at the end becasue Cap.Stacy told him too when he died so Harry will go out with her and Peter then meets MJ and also becomes friends with Harry(before him and Gwen go out)
CPBuff22 - 7/3/2012, 9:55 AM
Avengers was the Best Comic Book Movie Ever but Amazing Spider-Man had the Best Comic Book Action Scenes Ever. This was awesome in IMAX 3D and was way worth the extra cost to see it that way.
TheBigBoss917 - 7/3/2012, 10:00 AM
If anybody is "with" Grif then my faith in humanity is lost.
Lindsey35 - 7/3/2012, 10:01 AM
Seriously...MORE HATERS? Oh my God...
ALL OF YOU PLEASE...go back and watch your precious little winey Sam Raimi movies.

TWILIGHT? Twilight has vampimers and stupid over-rated werevolves....THIS IS SPIDER-MAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

Now...since I got that out of my system.
THAT WAS SPIDER-MAN. But since you're looking for Twilight or something stupid like that, go watch the Sam Raimi movies.
(not that any of the Sam Raimi movies were "Twilight based", you all just seem so wrapped up in it.)

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THEM!
THANK YOU MARC WEBB FOR GIVING US THE REAL SPIDER-MAN! WITH A REAL SOLID STORY AND NOTHING CHEAP!
Spidey31 - 7/3/2012, 10:02 AM
I think TASM is the most well rounded CBM

Good action

Great plot

Great acting

Great Romance
I think so far out of all the CBMs this year Andrew Garfield put out the best performance.
Lindsey35 - 7/3/2012, 10:04 AM
I agree completely with Spidey31...someone that actually has sense on this site.
I'm glad that it made that much on the midnight showings, the movie really deserved it.
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 10:08 AM
That movie kicked ass. To the bank. Niiiiiiice.

Haters gonna hate. Amurca. They took are jobs. Dey tirp er jaaa !!!!!
Spidey31 - 7/3/2012, 10:09 AM
Don't listen to RT either lol if you know it's reboot than you know it's good. Some critcs let the fact that its a orgin get in the way of the films great qualities and un the end trash the movie.
So far I have liked TASM better than any CBM in recent memory that's how much I love spiderman movies.
TrueRedBlue - 7/3/2012, 10:10 AM
Hey, I've got an idea. Let's not be douchebags and post incredibly unnecessary spoilers for no reason. Thanks, courtesy of your frendly neighborhood common sensical friend, TrueRedBlue.
TrueRedBlue - 7/3/2012, 10:11 AM
By the way, the movie kicked ass.
Score 1 for the fans and believers. Score 0 for the bandwagon jumping haters. Suck it.
Lindsey35 - 7/3/2012, 10:14 AM
Again, I have to agree with Spidey31.

Who is Sam Raimi again? OH YEAH....he did the first three that could've been better.

I LOVED The Amazing Spider-Man.
I laughed (along with the rest of the audience, was utterly AMAZED...SO OVERWHELMING.
superotherside - 7/3/2012, 10:14 AM
Very good opening!
Lindsey35 - 7/3/2012, 10:15 AM
I agreed with TrueRedBlue, the TASM fans have over come the haters!
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 10:17 AM
You want to know about spoilers. Other day I was sitting on my fat ass as usual and I was reading some crud about The Dark Knight Rises and dudes were saying this and saying that and I was like what the sh#t ups with this f#ckin sh#t cause I like to wait till the film comes out at . . . .so I looked at some porn instead. Haha
Spidey31 - 7/3/2012, 10:19 AM
I suspect the sequel will do significantly better with the critcs becasue it will settle in and from their delrail from the rami orgin thingy. If the direction and writing is the same or better and the story is better or on par it think it will do very good and even surpass Spidey 2 along with the critcs liking it.
pikachu - 7/3/2012, 10:22 AM
The Amazing Spider-Man Was Excited When Sony Announced Reboot...Am as equally excited for the Sequel :D
BenRielly - 7/3/2012, 10:22 AM
WHOEVER IS HATING ON THIS MOVIE IS NOT A TRUE SPIDER MAN FAN POINT BLANK PERIOD...

With that said if you are a true spider man fan YOU absolutely owe it to your self to watch this movie.

This movie was brilliant on so many levels Andrew was what ive been waiting 10 years to see corrected. If you dont believe me watch Raimi spider man one before or after you watch this.

Are you a Raimite or a true comic book spidey fan???

If you are the latter you will ABOSLUTELY LOVE THIS FILM.
PsyBoy - 7/3/2012, 10:23 AM
GO SPIDER-MAN!
great movie, it deserves it.
Spidey31 - 7/3/2012, 10:24 AM
@Milky watch the movie feat before you can make a comment. If you haven't seen the movie and don't plan on it don't share your opinion becasue it's useless.
pikachu - 7/3/2012, 10:27 AM
@BenRielly that's what i did i watched the Raimi Spider-Man then went to the midnight screening of The Amazing Spider-Man Webb>Raimi; TASM>SM1
Lindsey35 - 7/3/2012, 10:29 AM
@Millky

Yeah exactly my point... IT ISN'T TWILIGHT. ITS PETER PARKER BEING A WITTY SMART KID GETTING REVENGE ON FLASH.

*Ball sticks to his hand* "C'mon, Flash, take it, take it." CLASSIC SPIDER-MAN. Where in the world do you get freakin Twilight from?

And with what time he wasn't Spider-Man (the stupid 60 mins your talking about) WE. GOT. TO. KNOW. PETER. And I fell in love with him. ANDREW G. IS PETER PARKER.

I'M TELLING YOU PEOPLE, THIS IS SPIDER-MAN.

I knew from the very begining that this movie was gonna kill the first 3, and on my part, I am impressed and still very overwhelmed. ITS EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE.
Chewtoy - 7/3/2012, 10:30 AM
@Milky: The basketball scene wasn't based on "Twilight" at all.

It was based on "Teen Wolf". So there.
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 10:31 AM
That movie was so bad ass. On so many levels.
Spoiler#

Have you ever seen a better way for a hero to reveal his identity to his lady. Niiiiiiiiiice
JustDame - 7/3/2012, 10:32 AM
It was okay to me. Right now i prefer Raimi's.
BenRielly - 7/3/2012, 10:32 AM
I'm a die hard Marvel fan and i must say even though sony holds the rights to this; this is the best movie work next to Avengers and iron man 1 to ever hold Marvel's logo on the title. Next to Avengers, Batman Begins Iron man 1, thor and Blade, this is right at the top next to avengers as my favorite comicbook movie of all time

THANKYOU MARC WEBB FOR FINALLY DOING MY GUY JUSTICE. No more emo bitch ass whiny campy Tobey and Raimi GTFO!
TheAmazingSpidey63 - 7/3/2012, 10:33 AM
Nice. Very nice. Good start for TASM. Well, can't wait to see it. :)

Stay EPIC, my friends!
JDUKE25 - 7/3/2012, 10:35 AM
Going tonight. Looking forward to it.
Lindsey35 - 7/3/2012, 10:35 AM
@ Millky

Have you even seen TASM yet?
Seriously, go back and watch one Sam Raimi's movies and then try to rant on TASM.
Just do it, seriously.

Anyway. TASM's Peter was extremely smart (HE MADE WEB-SHOOTERS) he was hilarious (HE MADE FUN OF THE LIZARD AT THE SCHOOL) and he isn't fat, he's skinny but still muscular. TASM Killed every CBM to date in my opinion, MY OPINION, don't go all "hater attack on me"

Though, I stilled ADORED the avengers, since that movie easily impressed many, even me.
SkateandDestroy88 - 7/3/2012, 10:39 AM
Overwhelmed is good way to put it. I'll be watching in theaters again and buying dvd from wal-mart when comes out at midnite. Just like all the rest. Mha hahahah

Iron Man I/II
Batman Begins/The Dark Knight
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Captain America

The Avengers

The Amazing Spiderman

The golden Age of Comic book movies

The Dark Knight Rises/Man of Steel/Gardians of the Galaxy Avengers II ect ect. . . . . .
