NOAH is a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award®-nominated screenwriter John Logan (GLADIATOR, HUGO).

Starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Logan Lerman, Anthony Hopkins, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Kevin Durand and Dakota Goyo, Noah is set for March 28th, 2014 release.

HavocPrime - 8/10/2012, 5:33 AM
@TheRedHood

It seems so but I remember another historical film with an amazing cast that didn't do as well it as should of.

Mysterion - 8/10/2012, 5:36 AM
I know Crow is going to own the role of Noah...but it wouldve been much more interesting to see Christian Bale's take on the role, too bad he passed on it.

blvdnoise - 8/10/2012, 5:41 AM
I'll probably really enjoy this film.
blvdnoise - 8/10/2012, 5:42 AM
BTW, I liked the shit out out Troy as well.
AlexDeLarge87 - 8/10/2012, 5:42 AM
I have a feeling too its gonna get lots of awards.

Crowe is great actor but i would have go after Viggo Mortensen or Guy Pearce.
Crowe has those fatherlike looks thou so i guess thats a big reason why he was chosed for the role. Maybe thats why he is Jor-El too.

Then again maybe they just chosed him cause he was free and big enough star to draw people in theaters.
AlexDeLarge87 - 8/10/2012, 5:43 AM
Troy was great :)
RorMachine - 8/10/2012, 5:53 AM
Well, he looks like..Russell Crowe. I can't believe this guy might actually play Roland in The Dark Tower. He looks 15 years older than he actually is, and he's about 2 stone too heavy. I do like him in (most) movies, but man is he wrong for that role.
Jolt17 - 8/10/2012, 5:55 AM
Nice. And, yes...that cast.
pepe - 8/10/2012, 6:04 AM
Good choice too let a fat guy play, Noah
Maia87 - 8/10/2012, 6:10 AM
A good cast don't make a good movie.
BenderDickCumPatch - 8/10/2012, 6:15 AM
A dont see how this fail, hoineslty with cast like that AND GODDAMN Russle Crowe. I look forward to this.
JDUKE25 - 8/10/2012, 6:24 AM
Looks alright. Interested to see how this turns out.

Yeah, Troy should have done better. But I still really liked that movie.
MaitreyaRocket - 8/10/2012, 6:42 AM
Doesn't anybody think it's beyond the pale for an omnipotent sky daddy that needs a do-over ??? An omnipotent jerkoff might slaughter the creatures he created but, where does the omniscience come in ... I'm sorry, this is just bad writing & poor story-telling ... big FAIL ...
ManOfKrypton - 8/10/2012, 6:42 AM
I'm all for any news regarding any tentpole films, but how exactly is Noah CBM related?

Thanks for sharing still :) And for the record Russell Crowe is going to own this role!
MaitreyaRocket - 8/10/2012, 6:44 AM
Are they doing a rape scene ?
Nomis1800 - 8/10/2012, 6:45 AM
Russell Returns!
cole33 - 8/10/2012, 6:53 AM
Man I love Hollywood, destroying ancient fairytales over and over.

Please please continue hiring an all white, blue eyed, cast for a story about Semitic people

Next thing you know they'll have Jesus being played by a blue eyed white guy from seattle!
M6 - 8/10/2012, 6:58 AM
Great cast but hopefully the story is not too preachy.
aral - 8/10/2012, 7:02 AM
I love Kevin Durand
sinchsw - 8/10/2012, 7:09 AM
Looks like this will be Darren's "Last Temptation Movie". I'm going to echo M6 hoping it isn't too preachy.

It has always astounded me how people say their god is "pro-life" then teach this story to their toddlers, ya know...when god kills everyone but a handful of people...

If they play this like Troy where a god is mentioned but not confirmed I will dig it.
jimoakley666 - 8/10/2012, 7:19 AM
Would have rather seen DA direct The Wolverine. I find this biblical shite even harder to believe than comic books.
pepe - 8/10/2012, 7:32 AM
Anybody say rape scene???
marvel72 - 8/10/2012, 7:46 AM
looking forward to this not a fan of bible stories but i love aronofsky films.
sinchsw - 8/10/2012, 8:02 AM
Don't worry, guys. Just think of it as a myth like I do.
Ranger14 - 8/10/2012, 8:14 AM
Meh..not a big fan of Crowe. Not too interested in the film and I think saying it is a close adaptation to the biblical story is kind of a stretch at this time. It is an adaptation of a graphic novel that many wouldn't consider a close adaption to the biblical story, so it will be somewhat interesting to see how that all pans out. Aronofsky has already said that he won't necessarily go the religious route with the film.
whoelsebutkevin - 8/10/2012, 8:29 AM
You can appreciate Troy a bit more in the directors cut tho, still not a horrible movie just not what it should have been. But this cast is amazing, we have Hermoine, Hannibal Lector, Maximus the Gladiator, The Blob and Rocketeer's G/f. Russell Crowe is on my top 3 Favorite actors list too. With the talent alone, Cast and Crew both it should be a fun movie to see.
marvel72 - 8/10/2012, 8:46 AM
@ CaptainProg

yeah it was bullshit from the start, how many different species of birds or snakes are there, you take two pythons & try & make roughly 2,700 different species of snake & about 375 are poisonous.

isn't noah meant to be 400 years old.
Tony93 - 8/10/2012, 9:02 AM
Dat cast
NeoBaggins - 8/10/2012, 9:21 AM
I love the idea of the modern Biblical film. When I was growing up there were several of these films. David and Goliath is a pretty good story and part of it is the tale of Solomon I believe.

With all the special FX technology available today, the red Seas can be parted, Plagues can be started and Noah's voyage charted. But I can also see the Holy Rollers coming out to protest even though they have a shelf full of Biblical classics that look like the original Clash of the Titans and Jason of the Argonauts.
AlibiBreakfast - 8/10/2012, 10:16 AM
Great. This is going to give all the puritanical religious fanatics in America one more thing to talk about on Facebook...
SUPERBATSPIDERMAN - 8/10/2012, 10:22 AM
He has the look down. I wonder if he will look older throughout the movie because it took Noah many years to build the Ark.
Fogs - 8/10/2012, 10:29 AM
Not looking forward to it.
JULEZ13 - 8/10/2012, 10:46 AM
Russell Crowe is a better actor than Bale IMO - not taking anything away from Bale, but if I had to choose between the two Crowe would be my go-to guy so I'm kinda glad Bale dropped out.

Can't judge the movie solely on the crew and this close up pic. I'll wait for the trailer. I'd like to want to see this.

And Troy was a GREAT movie! I'm sure they made up the money they should've made in ticket sales through DVD sales... I hope anyway.

@ cole33: LMFAOOOO! Too true
Vizard - 8/10/2012, 11:00 AM
It'll probably be nothing like the scriptures. Hollywood...
KingEmperor - 8/10/2012, 12:18 PM
@ HavocPrime

That's because Wolfgang Petersen's an okay director at best.
nowtheresaBATman - 8/10/2012, 12:54 PM
This movie will be a fun hog.

@JULEZ13 Bale on par w/ Crowe. Looking back on all of their different roles over the years I'd go so far as to say Bale may be the more versatile actor of the two. In this role of Noah though Crowe is perfect. I'm glad Bale passed on it.

Troy could have been different but I loved it. Great actors & epic moments...

Interesting to see the amount of haters for this movie, which will not even be based solely on the Bible, but a graphic Novel....Crow looks great for the part!! :)

Battabing - 8/10/2012, 1:40 PM
Why is Noah white?
vtopa - 8/10/2012, 2:31 PM
How did Crowe go from being a total bad-ass in Gladiator to looking like a fat old whino?
CoolantTech - 8/10/2012, 3:24 PM
I hope there's giants and dinosuars and shit not that watered down sundayschool version where they leave out all the politically incorrect stuff and just tell the masses what they want them to know, I want them to shock that suedo illuminati 1% tile that has been surpressing and controling information before it gets out to the people... Example:

TruBeliever - 8/10/2012, 4:23 PM
Troy was meh and historically inaccurrate but so was 300 and I loved that film.
Maximillion - 8/10/2012, 4:32 PM
@CoolantTek, Very interesting photos especially the second to last one, reminds me of this scripture.

"There were giants in the land in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of man and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men, which were of old, men of renown" (Genesis 6:4)

Maximillion - 8/10/2012, 4:44 PM
We have some giants alive today, LOL :)
gaikinger - 8/10/2012, 6:11 PM
Hope they lay the Aronofsky-Malick vibe thick and weird.
LuckDragon - 8/10/2012, 10:20 PM
As a Christian, I am curious to see what Darren Aronofsky will do with the story of Noah. He is an extremely talented filmmaker and I studied Pi and Requiem for a Dream in my film history classes at the Art Institute. I hope he is faithful to the Biblical account and that the theological message of this story within the metanarrative of Scripture is accurately depicted.
Maximillion - 8/11/2012, 7:25 AM
@SetGecko The photos are fake. That is why we haven’t heard anything about this epic discovery in the New York Times, Scientific American, or any other legitimate publication, they are all fakes. If the Giants in Genesis existed, no clarification was given. The only clarification that was given in the Bible for Giant men was for Goliath. According to the Masoretic Text of the Old Testament Goliath was six cubits and a span tall, 3.2 metres (9 feet, 6 inches), Shaquille O'Neal's height is 7 ft 1 in (216 cm), so it is not very extraordinary to believe in Giant men, they still exist today. Giant is just a comparison to the normal height of every other man in that society.
Fogs - 8/13/2012, 6:07 AM
Breaking news. Vader and Jabba are real.

Here, evidence:

soms - 11/4/2012, 9:43 PM
Logan Lerman is 100% Jewish and Jennifer Connelly is 50% Jewish, which makes them both Semitic.

The term Semitic itself is useless. It simply refers to Abraham, who was the father of the Jewish people (with his Jewish wife) and of the Arab people (with his Egyptian, non-Semitic, wife/mistress). How do you know that Abraham didn't have blue eyes? His and Sarah's grandson, Essau, was reportedly a redhead.
