With Tolkien Week starting today (which ends on September 22nd), director Peter Jackson has posted a new video on his official Facebook page, where he revealed that a new full-length trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will premiere on Wednesday, September 19th, along with some special content for the fans. Check out the full video below:

The ensemble cast includes Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage, John Bell, Jed Brophy, Adam Brown, John Callen, Luke Evans, Stephen Fry, Ryan Gage, Mark Hadlow, Peter Hambleton, Barry Humphries, Stephen Hunter, William Kircher, Evangeline Lilly, Sylvester McCoy, Bret McKenzie, Graham McTavish, Mike Mizrahi, James Nesbitt, Dean O’Gorman, Lee Pace, Mikael Persbrandt, Conan Stevens, Ken Stott, Jeffrey Thomas, and Aidan Turner, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee and Cate Blanchett. The first film is set to be released on December 14th.

The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever…Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

I like how Jackson interacts with his audience, unlike Nolan who doesn't even bother coming to Comic-Con.
luxterg - 9/16/2012, 11:56 AM
LoL... all you people saying you aren't excited about this movie are going to own the BluRay boxed set, have 10 movie theater ticket stubs and the action figurines by the time all is said and done. Bash me all you want right now, but in 5 years from now, remember it was foretold as you're playing with your toys.
RaKash - 9/16/2012, 12:09 PM
o yaaaaaaa, I predict to see a beorn in his animal form going wild, some more crazy dwarfs, wood elves (legolas to be specific) the necromancer and maybe a big shadowy figure...SMAUG!
thewonderer - 9/16/2012, 12:27 PM
@sober

So because Nolan wishes to live a private lifestyle, he's to be insulted?

Ever watch Nolan in an interview? The man is extremely humble and shy. Not the talkative type at all.

Also why even mention Nolan here? Jackson is brilliant, Nolan is brilliant. Leave it at that
Maximus101 - 9/16/2012, 12:35 PM
@luxterg I own LOTR on DVD and not the box set lol believe me I won't be buying a box set of any kind, yes I will buy the movie when it's released but that doesn't say much cause I own about 700 movies which are a mix of DVD/blu-rays.

I will see this movie no doubt I'm just saying I'm not overly excited to see it. I'm looking forward to seeing end of watch, looper and skyfall mostly.
Carne - 9/16/2012, 1:20 PM
RaKash, neither Beorn or Legolas will be in the first movie.
Feedthemachine - 9/16/2012, 1:24 PM
Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!

@thewonderer
I'm not arguing that he's not a great filmmaker, but he makes millions of dollars off his Batman films, but he's too humble that he can't come to San Diego to talk with his fans for an hour? These are the same people who go to see his movies the most by the way. Even Zack Snyder took time out of filming to come talk to the fans as did Joe Johnston, Kenneth Branagh, and Shane Black.
Maximus101 - 9/16/2012, 1:39 PM
@soberchimera I'm not gonna lie, if I was a director I wouldn't go talk to nerd fans lol ya some of them do it but I doubt they enjoy it.
Ceejay - 9/16/2012, 2:22 PM
BIG WEDNESDAY INDEED!
thewonderer - 9/16/2012, 2:37 PM
@Sober

Zack Snyders been to comic con before for 300 and Watchmen.

For Nolan, its different. He isn't this comic book icon director.

I just don't see why its bad of him to not come.
soberchimera - 9/16/2012, 5:38 PM
@thewonderer

I don't see why its such a chore for them to come in the first place. We pay their wages, they can spare an hour or two of their time to answer questions and to promote their movie to their fans. Zack Snyder and Peter Jackson appreciate their fans enough to come out to these events because they were once just like them. It's actually more humble in my opinion to go to these conventions and interact with your fanbase than to just take their money and ignore them completely. Just my opinion.

ratthawks - 9/16/2012, 7:20 PM
@ thewonderer

Agree with you, Nolan isn't your typical geek director, he is just a film maker who makes films. To me the main guys who the geeks went to comic con and promoted the movie, Nolan would have been a waste of space and that isn't his type of scene.
Just keep making great films Nolan, leave the geekery for us.

Can't wait for the Hobbit trailer......two more days.
Azazel1 - 9/17/2012, 3:53 PM
I am not really so excited about this film but that could be because there has been very little footage released at all

First trailer was -meh-
