We are going to read a lot of rumors for Star Wars Episode VII. The main thing everyone wants to know is, who will direct the film? Well, Collider has a nice little rumor on that. As they say, nothing is confirmed, so for now, take this with a grain of salt. But, according to the report, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn might be in talks to direct this new chapter:
I’m hearing that Matthew Vaughn, the director of Kick-Ass, Stardust, Layer Cake, and X-Men: First Class, is in talks with Lucasfilm to helm Star Wars: Episode VII. My sources tell me this is the main reason he dropped out of the X-Men sequel (which Bryan Singer is now directing).
There you go. If this turns out to be true, then I'm all for it. Vaughn is a great director, and I think he would be a very interesting choice. Walt Disney bought LucasFilm last week, and with that, they plan to release Episode VII in 2015, followed by a new Star Wars film every two to three years. Would you like to see Vaughn directing Episode VII?
