In a time long past, an evil is about to be unleashed that will reignite the war between the forces of the supernatural and humankind once more. Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) is a knight who had imprisoned the malevolently powerful witch, Mother Malkin (Julianne Moore), centuries ago. But now she has escaped and is seeking vengeance. Summoning her followers of every incarnation, Mother Malkin is preparing to unleash her terrible wrath on an unsuspecting world. Only one thing stands in her way: Master Gregory.

In a deadly reunion, Gregory comes face to face with the evil he always feared would someday return. Now he has only until the next full moon to do what usually takes years: train his new apprentice, Tom Ward (Ben Barnes) to fight a dark magic unlike any other. Man’s only hope lies in the seventh son of a seventh son.

Starring Ben Barnes, Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Kit Harington, Djimon Hounsou and Alicia Vikander, The Seventh Son is set to hit theatres on October 18, 2013.

I remember reading these books when I was younger, I remember them being really dark n good, hope the film can capture some of the beauty of the books
redrum010 - 12/3/2012, 8:10 PM
I would rather see Orson Scott Card's Seventh Son on the big screen. Alvin Maker FTW!

Hope this does well. I wish fantasy films were done better. With the exception of Lord of the Rings and MAYBE Narnia, most aren't as good as they could be. I still feel there's a stigma toward the genre like there was for CBMs for a long time.

You'd think with the success with Game of Thrones and LORT, people would realize how incredible these movies can be.

Golden Compass, In the Name of the King, Stardust.... so many "blah" fantasy films out there.

*LOTR

I don't understand. Instead of training one kid to be a master at magic........

Why doesn't he just send 5 magical coins to 5 Teenagers with attitude?
EarOne - 12/4/2012, 4:43 AM
he should play Ollie, in the Alex Ross' Kingdom Come adaptation.

but, seriously...this sounds like it's gonna SUCK big time. the story sounds too familiar and cheesy. a cupla movies already come to mind, Sorcerer's Apprentice, TLOR and any version of the Snow White saga just to name a few.
