A battle between heavy weights that would be considered the definitive battle. The battle to once and for all rank the heroes on the "Strongest of All" list.

Who would make it to the tournament?

Who would be matched up?

Who would win?

Entrants:

The Hulk
Superman
The Sentry
Thor
Wonder Woman
Silver Surfer
Professor X
Dr. Strange
Apocolypse
Galactus
Maphisto
Green Lantern
etc.........

Who would you add to the list?
Who would you remove?
Who would you match up?

Most important, who would win the title of the "Strongest of All?"

Ok. These discussions are great fun and all, but as iv said before, everyone will just come up with ways to make their favorite character come out on top..its really an unwinnable argument.

That being said, I think Death from Sandman pretty much has the title:)
dailycomicsfix - 12/1/2009, 8:43 PM
It's all just in fun for sure. The list I provided is far from complete. In a straight up brawl or punch-up I'd have to give the title to the Hulk.
StuckInPanels - 12/1/2009, 8:49 PM
the one above all, end of story.lol
Wadey09 - 12/1/2009, 8:57 PM
actually superman has bested the Hulk on occasion.
btu i think it would either be the Silver Surfer of the Sentry.
but watch Batman come out on top!
thwhtGuardian - 12/1/2009, 8:58 PM
ha, death would be the victor ror. I just finished reading The sandman today. I gotta say,"damn!" what an ending...I mean it just...ends. I wish there was more, I would've liked to see what the new Dream did.It was crazy.

With that said, I'm not a huge fan of these kind of pissing contests(no offense Axl). It just seems ultimately fruitless to me because it is just far to subjective. Even when these grudge matches make it to the page it comes down to the writer's prference more than any attributes of the characters; if the fight happens in a hulk book hulk's going to win, but if it's in a sentry or a wolverine or a thor book you can almost guarantee that hulk will lose to whichever character's name is on the cover. So it's hard to really put up a logical argument. I could list how many times hulk has laid the smack down on everyone but they'll be someone who is just as passionate about some other character who can pull out just as many stats.

With that said, none of that stops me from buying every book that is printed just to show case epic grudge matches, even if the winner is predictable it's still fun to read.

RorMachine - 12/1/2009, 9:09 PM
Yeah, Its all subjective like you said..But Death wins every time! haha.

End of The Wake is a heart breaker alright. Daniel does appear in some later comics..a few issues of The Dreaming and Lucifer..and he helps out The JLA in a few issues..but nothing by Gaimen unfortunately. Maybe some day...
thwhtGuardian - 12/1/2009, 9:25 PM
I was thinking about picking up the lucifer solo arch, he was by far my favorite supporting character.
thwhtGuardian - 12/1/2009, 9:54 PM
I shall, I found my hard cover collections of sandman pretty cheap, so I'll look for lucifer tomorrow. People have been telling me for years that if I liked Hellblazer I'd love The Sandman. It was just a little daunting because they said you really needed to read the run from start to finish, so I always put it off due to the expense but used copies online are dirt cheap so I finally got a chance to read it...and it was as beautiful as everyone said it would be. And you really do have to read it all...I couldn't imagine just reading just one issue or even just one arch, you have to read it all.
Sorry for hijacking your thread Axl. I'll try and keep it on topic.
As it was shown in the kindly ones, a member of the endless can die(even if they later become reincarnated) so I think that if the Hulk was good and pissed off enough even he could perhaps beat death...if the fight took place within the pages of the incredible hulk.
DDD - 12/1/2009, 10:12 PM
Of course Lady death would be the all time winner!
She's DEATH after all! :D But boy, I wouldn't mind
her giving me the death stroke! :D

I'm a Lady death freak! I've got a lot of very rare
Lady death comics and merchandise! I'm still waiting
for her movie to be made! Of course it would most
definitely get an NC-17 rating! :D

Oh, well! A man can dream!
SHHH - 12/1/2009, 10:36 PM
Doomsday
Ryden - 12/2/2009, 1:16 AM
marvel, hulk would rip superman a new one.
BCiddy - 12/2/2009, 6:27 AM
Superman VS Apocolypse for the final battle...I do believe Apocolypse would win.
RorMachine - 12/2/2009, 6:33 AM
Hey Multi, no probs man, happy to spread the word!

Well, The Endless can "die" but only by a certain set of circumstances, and only when the rules apply. Brute force of any kind is never going to do it. All Death has to do is snap her fingers and Hulk/Superman/Galactus whoever is brown bread. But I realize thats going against the general fighting grain of this so..

In a straight up, knock down, drag our brawl, Im gonna say Wolverine, after all, Hulk has a weakness(Banner), Supes has Kryptonite etc, Logan has no weaknesses and is pretty much un killable.
LEEE777 - 12/2/2009, 6:46 AM
Lets just say who ever it is, DC is always going to win, they have all the heavy hitters in their Universe, SUPERMAN, SANDMAN etc etc.
Ryden - 12/2/2009, 7:09 AM
@LEEE- Nah, Silver Surfer, Doc Strange, Hulk, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, Galactus, Red Hulk, THE BEYONDER. DC would be ripped to shreds..sorry but it's true.
StrangeCosmic - 12/2/2009, 9:32 AM
In an all out slugfest = Hulk.
In anything else = Hal Jordan Parallax
dailycomicsfix - 12/2/2009, 10:51 AM
It's a completely unanswerable question but it's fun to try.

Professor X could make any of these guys think they're a chicken or a child or even asleep and then run them over with his chair.
rsalas - 12/2/2009, 1:45 PM
Superman has beat Hulk in two seperate occasions. D.C. does have the heavy hitters. Don't forget Superboy Prime, Captain Marvel, Black Adam, Doomsday, Apocalypse, Mongul, The Spectre, Supergirl, Ultraman, Superwoman, Magog, and Sinestro to name a few.
Hulk vs. Superman
Red Hulk vs. Superboy Prime (with his power suit)
Thor vs. Wonder Woman
Sentry vs. Black Adam
Gladiator vs. Captain Marvel
Captain America vs. Batman
Winter Soldier vs. Nightwing
rsalas - 12/2/2009, 2:10 PM
Wait.....Apocalyse is Marvel. I meant Darksied.

chavodel310 - 12/2/2009, 3:33 PM
were batman
thwhtGuardian - 12/2/2009, 3:55 PM
hulk is strongest there is
NJdevil12 - 12/2/2009, 6:11 PM
i'm sorry but why is it always captain america vs. batman? personally i think cap would definitly win. i've always thought of punisher vs. batman as a closer match.
1chris2 - 12/2/2009, 6:16 PM
in a staight up fight superman wins. but marvel has way better stories then dc,although batmans comics are pretty good.but anyone can beat another if the surcomestances fit.great match ups njdevil12 cap would win he has powers.
rsalas - 12/2/2009, 6:40 PM
In my opinion I think it would be a great fight. You have Batman the greatest matial artist there is. He's just a man but he's one of the strongest, fastest, smartest and most prepared out there and then there's Captain America who is slightly advanced in those catagories due to the super soldier serum and doesnt get tired but doesnt know as many fighting styles and doesnt have a bat belt. They've fought twice before and it was a draw the fist time then the second time Captain America was knocked unconsious and Batman had to go save him.
DDD - 12/2/2009, 6:55 PM
AXL@, Prof-X, that's friggin' hilarious! LMAO

But you're right, Xavier would beat everybody
cause he controls da minds! He who controls
the minds controls the universe! The Pen is
Mightier than the Sword!
thwhtGuardian - 12/2/2009, 8:11 PM
But the hulk's beat him three times multi. He only loses outside his book, that's deciding factor in any fight: whose book does it take place.
thwhtGuardian - 12/3/2009, 9:02 AM
But the capacity of their abilities changes from writer to writer and whose book they're in, the surfer did absorb the hulk's radiation...but in the surfer's book. He's capable of doing that in those arches but not shown doing it in others. So I think it's still just as subjective, you can't remove the abilities from the stories they belong to. I don't think either can definitively win.
AshleyWilliams - 12/3/2009, 2:07 PM
I dont now.
Here's my match-ups
Thor vs Superman (Thor)
Batman vs Moon Knight (Batman)
Thats all i got!
If ANYONE thinks WW would even be a fight aganist Thor they are CRAZY.
Thor beats All! :)
Strongest there is! My ***!
Powerful list
1)Thor/Superman(Tie)
2)Sentry/Hulk(Tie)
rsalas - 12/3/2009, 7:05 PM
Superman has already beaten Thor. I thought Wonder Woman vs Thor would be good because they're both from that God and Godesses type world and they're both highly trained warriors and she's beaten Superman before. I dont just thought it would be interesting. As for Silver Surfer well....D.C. does have Dr. Manhattan and he can do just about anything.
rsalas - 12/3/2009, 7:09 PM
Dr. Manhattan vs. Silver Surfer????

Dr. Manhattan is the only character with super powers. His main power is control over sub-atomic particles and forces; this gives him powers including matter transformation, teleportion and creating multiple copies of himself. He can also breathe in space and can see all along his own timeline, unless something interferes. The limits of his powers, if any, are unknown.

The Silver Surfer wields the Power Cosmic, granting him superhuman strength, stamina, durability, senses and the ability to absorb and manipulate the universe's ambient energy for a variety of effects. The Surfer can navigate through interstellar space, dimensional barriers, and hyperspace, which he can enter to exceed the speed of light when flying on his board,[62] and has even proven capable of time travel on several occasions.
icebergslick - 12/11/2009, 8:08 PM

madhatta - 12/12/2009, 2:04 AM
All these tournaments will lead up to is some more god-awful "classic" crossovers!! Stop now before it's too late!!!
Roninidas - 12/12/2009, 6:45 PM
I am a huge fan of Marvel, so I am very biased. So, in a match without rules there are so many close calls and such that in the end, I don't think there would be a definitive winner. These are a few people that I think could end up on top.

Batman - The World's Greatest Detective has taken downs Supes and Darkseid. Pure intellect is the driving force behind Batman's victory.

Red Hulk - Same as Batman, except this Hulk also uses Brawn as well. I mean the guy took out Silver Surfer. How the hell does that happen?

Ultimate Magneto - I just love how far this guy is willing to go to win.

Phoenix - Could incinerate anyone and everyone.

Professor Xavier - Could have them all doing the Bat-tusi for kicks, before he shuts off their brains.

There are tons of others. I would personally like to see Captain America take the title, but I just don't think that is in the cards.
