Jonathan Ross and wife Jane Goldman, who worked with Matthew Vaughn on Kick-Ass and now X-Men: First Class, has said they'd love for him to direct Turf which is written by Ross with art from Tommy Lee Edwards. However, the host also mentioned that Vaughn is in fact pretty keen on adapting the comic book for the big screen!
"Matthew loves Turf and has said he wants to make it into a film. We both love his work as a director so would be delighted."
"But at the moment he is committed 100 percent to X-Men: First Class, which won't be finished for at least a year, so we have not taken it further with him or his company yet."
"We are going to give him first refusal before we offer it elsewhere."
Turf is set in Prohibition-era New York. It tell's the story of a gang war between booze-smuggling mobsters and vampires – the bloodthirsty Dragonmir family from eastern Europe – with an alien thrown in for good measure.
