Britt Reid is the son of LA’s most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene – until his father mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father’s more industrious and inventive employees, Kato, they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves – protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets. Using all his ingenuity and skill, Kato builds the ultimate in advanced retro weaponry, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato’s clever gadgets, The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case, they begin hunting down the man who controls LA’s gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky. But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.

And courtesy of MovieWeb, we also have our first clip from the upcoming movie which features Cameron Diaz as she discovers the true identity of The Green Hornet and Kato!

The Green Hornet is set to be released in 3D on January 14, 2011!

Am I the only one who is really looking forward to seeing this?
golden123 - 12/22/2010, 1:10 PM
I was wondering what the tone of this movie would be. Now I know. I probably won't see this in theaters nor buy it on DVD. I'll probably just rent it. I may buy it if I really like it.
Fenlion - 12/22/2010, 1:11 PM

TheLoisLane - 12/22/2010, 1:36 PM
@ hush Not at all! I've been looking forward to this one since I heard Gondry would be directing! Can't wait! It comes out on my birthday, too! And nothing bad has ever come out on that day. :)

People have complained that the tone of the movie is too campy and doesn't take itself seriously. If anyone's seen the original series, they'd probably tell you that nothing's really changed. It was slightly more serious than the Adam West Batman & Robin. The action comedy theme works, the question for me is: Can Seth Rogan pull of an action hero convincingly. Most of the action in the trailers is centered on Kato.

Mommy, Cameron Diaz looks old in this movie! Also, judging by the clip, are you telling me that Kato can do all of that amazing ass kicking, but he can't subdo Cameron Diaz? CONTRIVED WRITING!
FutureCBMHero - 12/22/2010, 7:40 PM
pictures above= dumbass Seth Rogen face

Please don't send your money in for this film

Kato rocks...
Bartman87 - 12/22/2010, 7:41 PM
The actual series was actually way more serious than this and this seems to be bordering on the 60's Batman tone. Seth Rogan is a hack actor who plays a pothead drunk in every movie then finally finds the "human" inside himself; this doesn't look any different, except for a few more explosions. I'll rent and probably just to see Kato kick ass, they really should have gone with the comic version.

Seth Rogen has his mouth open in all those pictures, aw he is one funny ass son of a bitch though

I love this! I hope it does well, I wonder if Kevin Smith had anything to do with the casting?
