Solid Evidence That The Teaser For The Dark Knight Rises Was Indeed A FAKE!

YouTube's "PrettyMuchIt" has come across several pieces of damning evidence and solid proof that the recently leaked teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is unfortunately bogus! Check it out...

The supposed teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises was met with a lot of scepticism when a bootleg version found its way online a few days ago. Many thought it was a fantastic tease for the highly anticipated movie from director Christopher Nolan, while equally as many decided it was a fake. The fact that it didn't play in any US theatres over the weekend and wasn't removed by Warner Bros. seemed to indicate it was a fake, but the truth was still unknown. Well, YouTube's "PrettyMuchIt" has done some digging and found some downright solid evidence that it is indeed far from official.

Go to the 0.34 second mark to see the Warner Bros/Lengendary Pictures Logo.

Click HERE to see the BBC video with the Bats used in the teaser trailer. (shown roughly at the 0.55 second point)

Add all that together, and I guess you're left with this!

So there you have it! I think it's pretty fair to say that is pretty conclusive! Either way, I think it's fair to say that the hoaxer did an impressive job of fooling us all...just not that good! Be sure to share your thoughts on this in the usual place!

With an all star cast which includes Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!

RockNRollCC - 6/19/2011, 5:53 PM

idk whatever. i honestly didnt see the point for this, though...sorry.
SUPERMAN2013 - 6/19/2011, 5:56 PM

Anthrax - 6/19/2011, 5:57 PM

capreborn - 6/19/2011, 5:58 PM
Hey guys stop focusing on movies that aren't here yet, and focus on the one's that are coming out soon... Like Captain America
Benjamitesandwich - 6/19/2011, 5:58 PM
Thank goodness! That "trailer" was worse than my grandma's strip dance.
PapaMidnight - 6/19/2011, 5:59 PM
I was fooled... dammit! :D
C'mon, smart asses - for a fake stuff is damn good! The atmospheric score is pretty cool...
Theodora - 6/19/2011, 5:59 PM
Yes it looked shit and cheap but why believe this guy? He some "solid evidence" that evidence would be him telling us that is fake, so I take it this guy is Chris Nolan's son otherwise we just have to take his word for it? It may be all part of the viral campaign to get buzz going, they had a Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer recently "leak" whiched turned out to be part of the campaign for the movie. The guy in the video could have shown us the Vlash of the Titans opening, and the BBC bat footage instead he just tells us it's fake, groundbreaking stuff.
claybo4131 - 6/19/2011, 6:00 PM
Well he is right if you look at it.

I did not find out about that "Dark Knight Rises" trailer till AFTER I saw Green Lantern, and if WB were to attach it to any movie, it would be either GL or Harry Potter.

I could see why GL cause they are DC Characters, but I would have known it was being shown before GL. Besides, I know lots of us saw GL, and well none of us saw the trailer in the theater right?

Also if it was the real trailer, wouldnt it have been trending on Twitter as well?
Akercocke - 6/19/2011, 6:09 PM
Nothing related to Nolan's Batman ever sucks, if it sucks it's fake. As simple as that.
DEATHbyEXILE - 6/19/2011, 6:11 PM
marvel72 - 6/19/2011, 6:12 PM
no shit it was fake,i didn't see that coming.(sarcasm)

i thought it was rumored to be on the front of harry potter 7 part 2,thats why i didn't believe it.
95 - 6/19/2011, 6:17 PM
The exaggerated cheering and whole "The Storm.... is coming... to Gotham" was not very well thought out, the opposite of Nolan's work.

Bring on Harry Potter 7 Pt. 2 so we can get the real trailer!!!

I havent watched his vid yet but I knew it was fake the moment the MPAA green screen came up. If it was Italian/shown in Italy it would have to had been seen by the Italian censors board to allowed to be seen in a cinema. NOT one starting with the green american MPAA board screen.
DEATHbyEXILE - 6/19/2011, 6:22 PM
Not the fruit bat video the guys talking about, but one to watch nevertheless:
NeoBaggins - 6/19/2011, 6:32 PM
The font was enough to give it away. They didn't even try to make it resemble the Dark Knight Font, which is on everyones computer.
forthesakeofnow - 6/19/2011, 6:33 PM
@Grif

when you sign for postal deliveries do you end it with "bring on the batman reboot"? lol

but in all seriousness the two things i didnt want for this film were a physical threat villain and a love interest... we got both. so i stopped worrying and just got on with anticipating the film.

admittedly i guess your just not anticipating it at all.
forthesakeofnow - 6/19/2011, 6:35 PM
@R8ITR

Im planning on not watching anything for this film till it comes out, im hoping I can stay strong and not want anything deemed official. lol
drewboyee - 6/19/2011, 6:39 PM
Good...was craptastic anyways.
Jimdlux - 6/19/2011, 6:49 PM
#1 who cares
#2 technically it still is a teaser. It did whatever WB would have done. It wouldn't have been the 1st time a few images were thrown together that had nothing to do with the film. Look at Tron Legacy. The Teaser that they showed had nothing to do with the film and it was created just to see if there would be a following for a sequel. They hadn't even green lighted the movie. As for the logo change over, Clash of Titans wasn't the first movie to have that change over AND where do you think they would have gotten footage of bats flying for the Batman movie...they would have used stock footage. The thing that pretty much screamed fake was the text.

@grif

I would so {frick} catwoman. Any Catwoman from any incarnation from series to film!
RockNRollCC - 6/19/2011, 6:56 PM
^^^ this guy gets it. Why are any of you bitching that its fake? The real deal will most likely be pretty similar.
juggy4711 - 6/19/2011, 7:00 PM
So what if its fake it didn't show anything to begin with?
dailycomicsfix - 6/19/2011, 7:11 PM
I posted this in the comments section yesterday.......
ThreeBigTacos - 6/19/2011, 7:11 PM
The audience could of been some kid's talent show or school function.
Bigpoppa0504 - 6/19/2011, 7:17 PM
Who cares!!!!! All this speculation about "is the trailer real or fake" BS. We'll find out soon enough. Isn't the anticipation worth the wait? Com'on people. Let's let the tension build.
SUPERBATSPIDERMAN - 6/19/2011, 7:20 PM
I thought it looked fake and it looked fan made. I hope Batman gets a new suit in this movie cuz I didn't really like his suit in the Dark Knight it looked to skinnny. I liked the suit on Batman Begins better.
Xandera - 6/19/2011, 7:25 PM
I'm glad... if the teaser was real... it would have been a huge disappointment...
scmittydude - 6/19/2011, 7:28 PM
Um... Well duh!
Durango95 - 6/19/2011, 7:33 PM
son of a bitch....eh,who cares.
Shieldofpower - 6/19/2011, 7:37 PM
I knew it. It was cool, though. But I've seen better, anyway.
batmanrises - 6/19/2011, 8:17 PM
Got that kid makes me feel like a nerd
m2prod - 6/19/2011, 8:18 PM
Duh! Did anyone really believe it was real?
CrossOver - 6/19/2011, 9:21 PM
Yeah, of course I dont believe it now. One of my sources say that they will start filming in the studios in Los Angeles in about a month.

And I got some good scoops on some gadgets the Bats will have... mwahaha, but i cant tell you guys what they are c(:
StingrayX - 6/19/2011, 9:23 PM
Chances are the teaser will show to a private audience at Comic Con and be leaked online soon after.
LeonardShelby - 6/19/2011, 9:26 PM
Unfortunately the majority of the population are idiots. So obviously a lot of people were going to be excited for a fake teaser that showed nothing. Congrats to all the individuals that weren't duped, we are the world's only hope.
IcyOne - 6/19/2011, 9:31 PM
Ya know what's sad is Fan made trailers can bee 1,000 times better than the actual trailers. A prime example would be "The Batman Complex" trailer that released a couple months ago. Bale's Britis accent jumped in a few times but I thought that it was something I'd actually watch if done properly.
TheHierophant - 6/19/2011, 9:43 PM
I've got to say, it's a mighty impressive faux teaser... I might be the only one that thinks so, but I thought it was pretty decent. I think that any fake teaser, or anything fan-made that can fool that many people is pretty impressive... Either way, I can't wait for the real teaser...
MaddMonkk - 6/19/2011, 9:58 PM
It was a good fan made teaser, if only they said that in the beginning everyone would be saying "Cool". but the exact same footage is "stupid and fake". I personally thought it was neat but not great. for those of you that get upset and call people stupid for believing it was real, just shut up and enjoy what ever we get.
Natetrix79 - 6/19/2011, 11:50 PM
Who cares it was like 40 secs. long & it didn't show anything! I was pissed of when I saw the trailer for The Dark Knight, it was a Batman symbol & The Joker laughing. If your gonna tease us show us a shadowy glimpse of the new heroes & villains really quick, the crowd will go nuts, the Internet will be all a buzz, & your job is done!
TheYesGuy - 6/20/2011, 1:36 AM
Was quite good though..!!!
moneybanks - 6/20/2011, 1:40 AM
dirtyfarmkid^ very very true sir!! Im actually starting to hate this site more and more...
You got these fricking nerds who like to diss people for their reviews and for no apparent reason...I mean selina kyle did a video review about green lantern and there were so many nerds who were dissing her because of what she looked like...there really are some tools in this world..
This fake video..wow so many people really thought it was real...who cares!! Seriously..grow up you fricking nerds
Jimdlux - 6/20/2011, 2:27 AM
@romopuro

That's funny as hell...
DoodPool - 6/20/2011, 4:13 AM
does this mean the movies not coming out? :(

lol :P
ACira - 6/20/2011, 4:16 AM
it's well made, i'll give them that, but lightning in movies that serves no plot purpose other than looking sinister is sooooo 80s/early90s/anything made by Joel Schumaker...
Anyone else think if that guy had brown hair he'd look a lot like Andrew Garfield/ Spiderman 2.0?
Chewtoy - 6/20/2011, 5:09 AM
I assumed that someone would find a Comic Con video or something with the exact same "excited crowd" audio rather quickly after seeing the fake.
smithonator - 6/20/2011, 11:25 AM
I avoid watching teasers and some trailers any more. I just want to see the movie.
jazzman - 6/20/2011, 11:30 AM
some people are such idiots, been saying it was a fake from day one
Rodimus9 - 6/20/2011, 3:27 PM
You're all a bunch of f•cking nerds....." I told you it was fake"... No f•cking duh!! A deaf and dumb retard could see it was fake.

Let's make this a big deal anyway though, because we have pathetic lives and need something to argue about.
jf11mm - 6/21/2011, 1:16 PM
Oh come on you dont need to expalin that was fake lets get real people.
