Kevin Feige Talks About Finally Bringing The Avengers Together; Cast Share Thoughts On D23!

Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," and "Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel’s The Avengers" is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, "Marvel’s The Avengers" brings together the mightiest super hero characters as they all assemble together on screen for the first time. The star studded cast of super heroes will be joined by Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård.

Thanks to Moviehole for the following video interviews. There's unfortunately nothing as exciting as what we've seen in previous ones posted yesterday and earlier today, but the cast all share their thoughts on bringing The Avengers to Disneyland (which includes Robert Downey Jr. giving his take on now being a Disney employee) while Kevin Feige comments on what it's like for him to finally see this happen after so many years. BE WARNED: A couple of these are ridiculously brief!

And click HERE for video interviews courtesy of About.com, where the actors actually talk far more revealingly about their roles in The Avengers.

STARRING:

Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man
Chris Hemsworth as Thor
Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Ramanoff/Black Widow
Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury
Tom Hiddleston as Loki

RELEASE DATE: May 4th, 2012. (US)

Have ALIENS been confirmed in any of the press releases? Has the word ALIENS ever come up up from anybody making this movie? Could the enemy be something besides aliens, because it seems like everybody is assuming that it is ALIENS and couldn't possibly be anything else.

@ Ruka: Marvel does have the rights to Luke Cage and Black Panther. They also recently got the rights back to Punisher and Blade. Daredevil or Fantastic Four will probably be next.

You'ld figure with Disney money they could kick down and buy all those rights back. Or maybe just sue them for them.

I mean, with the exception of spiderman1&2, everything else was mediocre if not crap...sound like probable cause for a no confidence lawsuit by marvel. They're damaging comicbook sales by producing crap movies.

doesnt matter how much money Disney have Marvel sold their rights to these characters to other studios.

And on his comment about Marvel having the rights to 'almost all of their greatest characters', I'm not sure if I can agree with that. They still need to get Spider-Man, Fantastic 4, X-Men, Ghost Rider, and Daredevil to create a truly epic Marvel cinematic universe (it's already epic ATM, but it would be more so if every single Marvel character was in it).

@Ckal That's what I was thinking, if that's the case then they're good to go with the MCU (for the most part).

@Rodimus9

Sue for what? I hate not having Spider-Man in the MCU as much as the next guy, but you gotta be realistic. Those rights were sold fair and square and until Fox or Sony doesn't meet their end of the bargain, those characters are legally theirs.

Sure, Disney can buy back those rights. But people fail to realize that just because they can, doesn't mean they should. Considering that Spider-Man is a BILLION dollar franchise, I don't think Sony will part with it for less than several times that amount. Now consider how much Disney paid for Marvel: 4 Billion dollars. The rights to film a Spider-Man movie would cost MORE than ALL of Marvel put together.

But let's say that Disney considers buying it for 5 billion. Since each Spider-Man film grosses close to a billion dollars (when you factor in box office and merchandise) it would take FIVE Spider-Man movies just to break even on their investment. You're looking at nearly 10-20 years of trying to turn a profit off of Spider-Man. And that's assuming that Spider-Man's popularity remains the same. Which it most likely will not, considering that Disney buying the rights would lead to yet ANOTHER reboot.... after the reboot.... of the Raimi franchise.

I know. It's a sad, sad day for Marvel fans. It kinda makes you seriously wanna pummel the execs at WB/DC for not giving us a cinematic universe akin to Marvel's. They don't have any of the legal troubles entangling their characters like Marvel does.

@Maculis No I believe Fox owns the Super Skrull.

I think the closest property Marvel is even remotely close to bringing home is the Fantastic Four, but that even seems eons away.

Check out my apparent "Fan Fic" for the Iron Man series, cheers!

Don't know if anyone else has the same idea as me but in one of the previous interviews with Hiddleston (Loki) he said that he made deals with those in the other 9 realms. Has anyone considered that in THIS Marvel Universe that since Thor is considered an "alien" that maybe perhaps all of these videos of guys in mo-cap suits could in fact be "aliens" from the other realms that Loki made deals with?
