SYNOPSIS: In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent, Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

The following images come courtesy of Ed Larom via Superman: Man of Steel (2013) Facebook page (click on the link below to head on over there) and seemingly depicts Michael Shannon in a Kryptonian suit of a similar design to that of the Man of Steel himself. There are also reports coming in from the set that Henry Cavill has been doing wire work in his Clark Kent guise.

Black full body suit?

Dear god no...

Faora's black costume is already similar enough to Ursa's minus certain tweaks like the addition of a cape and stuff but it seems the full body black suits are still at play in this film as it was in SupermanII.

I was hoping for...

That COULD also possibly be a mo-cap suit. Who knows...
bigshow2312 - 9/14/2011, 7:17 PM
YES! It looks exactly like Supe's costume (of course black).... I wonder if all Kryptonians will wear suits like these but different colors....

I approve
LP4 - 9/14/2011, 7:18 PM
At least it looks like Shannon's bulked up a tad bit. His arm looks beefed although it could also be padded.
P862010 - 9/14/2011, 7:20 PM
lp4 lol zod and ursa in superman 2 wore pretty much disco outfits how are they comparable to battle armor lol
JackDexx - 9/14/2011, 7:21 PM

KNEEL BITCHES!!!
JackDexx - 9/14/2011, 7:26 PM
I really wanna see their Cellophane S

JDUKE25 - 9/14/2011, 7:29 PM
I love that it's like Cavill's suit. Definitely means they're Kryptonian suits. Love it.
RunDTC - 9/14/2011, 7:30 PM
this movie is gonna suck so bad.....
JDUKE25 - 9/14/2011, 7:30 PM
AND a goatee of some sort. Glad they didn't go with the bear, I was hoping for a goatee. Shannon is gonna rock as Zod!!
Supes17 - 9/14/2011, 7:31 PM
LMAO @jackdexx
LP4 - 9/14/2011, 7:31 PM
@P862010- I'm just saying- both are wearing full body black suits. I get the ones in SupermanII wore more of a disco outfit look but and I get these are more battle-armor ready but I'm standing by my original point- there are similarities.

Look closely at these pictures...both have the long-legged boots and they are both wearing full-body black suits. The main thing is, Faora's suit seems like Ursa's suit but tougher and more armor-like and with a cape, as i stated in my original post- it has 'certain tweaks' to it. I'm sure the suits will look much better than the Donner disco suits of SupermanII. But I was hoping for something MORE than that. I wanted a Zod with big heavy armor that doesn't even make him recognizable as the typical Zod. I wanted him to wear something that makes him appear more "alien" to a degree. But I'm sure whatever Snyder cooks up I'll be fine with it.

But hey- everyone's entitled to their own opinions right?
Supes17 - 9/14/2011, 7:32 PM
@RunDTC: Dont be so negative bud:)
JDUKE25 - 9/14/2011, 7:32 PM

Great! Mocap is a no I guess.
Looks like Supes suit is going...
to be explained to be part of Kryptonian...
culture. Does Zod give it to him?
Is he Supes Ra's al Ghul?
NextHero08 - 9/14/2011, 7:35 PM
Looks a hell of alot better than Cavills suit...
LP4 - 9/14/2011, 7:36 PM
If you wanna know what i mean, THIS is the suit i wanted for Zod.

One of these suits would have been nice because it gives Snyder a REAL reason to use heavy CGI and it gives Superman a more alien-looking villain to battle for a change on the big screen. So far all we've had are Lex Luthor and Zod and Lex being human and Zod being Kryptonian neither one looks alien. I wanted Brainiac as the villain because it gives us a more alien-looking villain to be visually amazed with. I just want something that has the look that will make me go "Wow...ok this is definitely eye-popping" It's nice that Snyder is giving them all more of an armor look but I expected more, that's all. I'm not complaining so I don't want any angry-nerds attacking me for stating my opinion but as a FAN...I just expected something more.

But like i said- whatever they do with Zod's suit I'm sure I'll like it.
bigshow2312 - 9/14/2011, 7:37 PM
I hope they get the physics of Superman down right in this film... like, he's suppose to be a SUPER man, not some extremely invincible force, you know? So if Clark Kent is riding his bike and a diesel truck hits him- he better be hit-but have 0 degree of damage.
BooYah - 9/14/2011, 7:37 PM
This is my most anicipated movie of 2013!

Avengers is my 2012.
nailbiter111 - 9/14/2011, 7:38 PM
i'm a little confused, didn't he say he'd be wearing a mo-cap suit? maybe his mo-cap stuff is for cg armor and he took it off for this scene?
Supermanofsteel - 9/14/2011, 7:38 PM
now i understand the superman suit and zod suit are battle suits from krypton how cool!!!!!
Supes17 - 9/14/2011, 7:39 PM
I honestly dislike the Red Son(Sun?) suit for Zod..
I want Non to look like that second pic you posted..
That'd be bad ass
brokenexcitement - 9/14/2011, 7:39 PM
I want this movie to succeed so bad. However, the more and more that I see about it the more I start see just a REMAKE and not a REBOOT *sigh* With sooo many great characters in the Superman/DC universe, why bring back characters that we've seen in two movies already? :-( Don't get me wrong, I'll be there for the midnight release, but they need to do something special to make Supes "relevant" again to the viewing public...
bigshow2312 - 9/14/2011, 7:41 PM
@LP4

That suit looks hideous!

It looks like Zurg from Toy Story 2

The suit now, looks fine
Supes17 - 9/14/2011, 7:41 PM
So I guess Nolan added functionality and a reason why the suit is worn, like the Batman movies.
Batsuit= Soldier armor, high tech gadgets attached
Supersuit= Kryptonian battle or travel suit

Supes' and Zod's suits are identical, but different colors. Look at the back and the wrists
patriautism - 9/14/2011, 7:42 PM
Yes this is amazing.. I wonder if his will have the Zod symbol on the chest?

That would just be epic..
Also, did anyone else notice the goatee?
incrediblesuperbatspider - 9/14/2011, 7:42 PM
I think the mocap suit is his advanced kryptonian battle armor
incrediblesuperbatspider - 9/14/2011, 7:43 PM
He looks like he packed on the beef for this role
CaptainTall - 9/14/2011, 7:44 PM
I actually just saw Superman II today, for the first time.

....

Michael Shannon.... you have much to live up to.

As do you, Cavil.

But do not worry. My faith in you and your ability to give us the greatest Superman ever, will not fade.
LP4 - 9/14/2011, 7:46 PM
@bigshow2312- To each their own I guess. You can't say the suit is fine now when we haven't even SEEN the actual suit for Zod yet, otherwise you're just being silly.

Like i said- I'm sure I'll like the suit. I just had other preferences...don't most fans?
tjbpinkfloyd - 9/14/2011, 7:46 PM
Was hoping for Scientist Zod from Last Son:
SupermanFan - 9/14/2011, 7:47 PM
No Gotee NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
rbfn04 - 9/14/2011, 7:48 PM
SUperman will be wearing a kryp´tonian suit? How Tim Burton of Snyder. How unsuperman like... DVD it is for me...
patriautism - 9/14/2011, 7:48 PM
HE DOES HAVE A GOATEE, AND THE SYMBOL!!! I AM PISSING MY PANTS!!
LP4 - 9/14/2011, 7:49 PM
I just want something eye-popping. The idea of two aliens who look human battling each other reeks of "low budget" to me.

Just my honest opinion but i can sense a hoard of cbm geeks rampaging on me for that and reporting me for b.s

I'm not saying the film itself looks low-budget because it doesn't. But just the mere idea of 2 human looking aliens fighting...meh. I hope they at least make Zod's CGI armor LOOK like real alien-armor.
Fastestmanalive - 9/14/2011, 7:50 PM
Looks pretty good, lovin the goatee
Thunderkutfo - 9/14/2011, 7:50 PM
Black Kryptonian suits! Johnny Cash must've been popular on Krypton!
TimelessUnknown - 9/14/2011, 7:51 PM
Looks like they are trying to make the suit make sense. That's a plus.
BooYah - 9/14/2011, 7:51 PM
@SupermanFan- Are you kidding? He does have a goatee.
bigshow2312 - 9/14/2011, 7:51 PM
@LP4
Hmmm.... I guess so (preferences), but I can tell you took it to heart-"Dear god no..."
This IS the suit for Zod... it has the vinyl designs just like Supe's costume... boots... structure... I dont know any other way to simplify that
