Feature Opinion

If there's one thing which has been dividing CBM lately, it's Christopher Nolan. I'll be honest, I really have no idea why, especially after the downright brilliant Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. While his more grounded and realistic take on the iconic DC superhero isn't to everyone's taste, there's surely no getting around the fact that he's responsible for bringing the character to the big screen in a much better way than past interpretations. Of course, that's just myopinion...what do you guys think?

To be honest, I'm a little shocked by these results. Seeing as there's been a fairly large amount of users recently who have expressed their distaste over how Nolan has handled the Batman franchise, I was expecting the amount of negative votes to be a fair bit higher! As a big fan of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight though, I'm pleased to see the way this poll ended up going! It seems that the vocal minority have been truly beaten by the "Nolanites"! Be sure to share your thoughts on all this in the usual place.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

Honestly, Nolan is an amazing director. In a world full of remakes and "Re-imaginings" His movies outside of the Batman Franchise are brilliant. They make you think,They all warrant multiple viewings in which you see things you didn't get the first or second time.

So what do we think happens in the last 3 minutes of the film? Batman dies? Batmsn is thought dead, but then he "Rises"? It would make sense for Bruce to fake his own death. Maybe somone else replaces him? Like Bane, lol.

@WesleyGibson you're using a double negative so you're actually saying Nolan IS a genius lol ;).

I think the result of this poll was a foregone conclusion.
From Following through to Inception, Nolan has continued to deliver a diverse range of intelligent, well written, and character driven films. I don't see how someone who successfully put a comic book character like Batman back to the forefront of the minds of a mainstream audience (not to mention the billion plus dollars in box office takings) can get such hollow insults as "the worst guy to happen to a CBM". Nolan's Batman trilogy will probably be spoke about with reverance for years to come, while the inevitable reboot will forever live in this trilogy's shadow. I may be wrong, but I reckon the massess have spoke.

Lol...one way or another people on this site will find a way to bitch....be it Michael Bay during TF filming, Green Lantern after the crapfest it ended up being, or Nolan for being not close enough to the comics....

This man is probably the hottest ticket as far as directors in Hollywood goes....he is for practicality, story and believability what Michael Bay is for action and 'splosioins.

If he wasn't as good as he was, people would still be bitching about him not doing ENOUGH with the franchise...

Haters gonna hate.

What was it you said the other day Intruder?

"Nolan is laughing at who again? Huh Josh? It appears the only butt of jokes are directed at his ass."

Judging by these results, I'd say he's laughing at YOU bub. :)

Most directors spend all their lives making movies and never come up with a single original movie that's not a variation on a theme. Nolan in his mere 10 movies to date has come up with two totally original movies with Memento and Inception, they are unlike anything that's been before them and insanely well written and presented. Only narrow minded comic fanboys hate him because they only visualise what they see in a comic form as being what's supposed to be on the screen, they don't actually think about what works, what don't and what's totally stupid about the source material. In short, they are immature and their opinion as always isn't worth bringing to the table!

Following - A wonderful Debut
Memento - A mind [frick] of a movie, so original
Insomnia - A great detective thriller
Batman Begins - A Great Origin Movie, in every sense
The Prestige - It Had David Bowie
The Dark Knight - Took Comic Book Movies to another level
Inception - One of the most intelligent movies ever

So up to this point in his career, in my opinion, He is as flawless as you can get. He brings a great character feel to all his movies, Brings you in, makes you feel connected. Honestly, I can't see how anyone can prefer Tim Burton's batman over his.
