3D is just as good as the Green Lantern. which in simpler terms means it SUCKS! Dumb Cameron and his big plans for mother earth. i hope he rots in 3D hell. The only movie id spend the extra cash for 3D would be (drumroll) Piranha 3DD! Flying boobies and booty and killer fish with tuns of shooting blood!

It cost them 5-10 million for those glasses, but I'm sure they made more then that for overcharging us for 3d movies ( I was payin almost $50 for me n my gf in NYC). I hate Sony. They made all ps3 owners agree they can never do a class action law suit against em for identity theft this week, now this. F em in the A

I already know people that have their own and pay for the 2D movie then sneak into the 3D showing. That's probably what's going to happen.
jjmeylar - 9/27/2011, 4:02 PM
I don't really care for 3D, so whatever.
bababoozer - 9/27/2011, 4:13 PM

jaytwoess - 9/27/2011, 5:35 PM
Im tired of paying extra for what....2 or maybe 3 scenes that look amazing but in the end you dont get a better movie.... we should have the choice to pay extra for 3D or pay less to see the regular version... i think in the end its only to make more money...
Mk616 - 9/27/2011, 5:39 PM
I kind of like 3d when the movie calls for it eg Avatar, How to Train Your Dragon... However I wasnt going to see either one of these movies! Spiderman belongs at marvel and MIB is tired and old. Sorry Sony you are not getting my money.
Moonwalker1991 - 9/27/2011, 5:42 PM
First, why is there another MIB movie? - - Two, 3D is overrated and its not even worth the extra five or ten dollars when there's no actual difference between 3D and 2D other than a clearer picture and then again, 3D is hard to follow, not to mention for some people it can mess up your vision. I despise 3D. The ONLY exception might be Star Wars, the original trilogy. That's it.

Now if the 3D films get cheaper since there's no glasses on the theater's part, then I'm all for this. But most likely people will forget their glasses at home all the time and either buy a whole new pair or go see it in 2D. I worked at Hollywood Video for a while, and people on average are big f-ing flakes.

I hate how they keep cutting out the 2D option. Thor opening night at all three theaters nearby had no 2D showings. It was either pay extra for gas to find a theater with a 2D showing or just pay for the 3D. Pissed me off.

If theaters were smart, they'd have the option. Especially if people are supposed to bring their own glasses and forget them at home.

if both movies were shot and conceived for 3D, then i don't mind the increase. i know it just says hey its okay to charge them whatever for 3D. but if a movie is done right, it can be a beautiful thing for your eyes
RobinNumbah6 - 9/27/2011, 7:15 PM
only if Spider-Man is revolutionary in 3D
Bojac - 9/27/2011, 8:21 PM
Wait, so why the hell were they already charging $5 more for 3D? They always told me it was for the glasses.

But [frick] it either way, I had already sworn off 3D movies.
wykin2 - 9/27/2011, 11:18 PM
I already pay a $4.00 differnce to see a movie in 3D. Now they want me to pay more?! No way man. This is a bad move on Sony's part. They aren't getting anything more from me and I'm sure many other movie goers won't pay more either.

My opinion is 3d technology in films isn't very good yet anyhow, and much prefer 2d. I always see 2d if I can, and am usually a bit annoyed if I have to pay extra for a feature I don't care for.

The exception to this is animated features studios like Pixar. They do look good. Live action on the other hand looks pretty horrible in 3d.
Keeks - 9/28/2011, 12:36 AM
^ Sorry I was supposed to say "animated features from studios like Pixar."

One good thing about this is that the ecological cost won't be as great.

People will be bringing their glasses back and not discarding them so readily, so there will be less waste and, ultimately, lessened production (and resultant pollution) as demand for them decreases.

We've never had these for free in the UK and - along with the inflated ticket prices - paying for the specs urges us to look after them for re-use. It just makes a lot more sense all-round to buy, look after and re-use.

captcrais101 - 9/28/2011, 2:02 AM
I still have my 3D glasses from when I saw Conan so I don't care as much but I really hate this because it is just another way to take more money from your pocket at the theater.
SuperC - 9/28/2011, 10:23 AM
I"ll pay if the future movies use James Cameron real 3D camera. All the 2d-3d fake convertion I will see them in 2D.

Yet another FAIL to add to Sony's ever growing list...

20:1 that this move backfires, and doesn't inspire other studios to follow suit. Forcing Sony to eat their own ass in apology.
